Aww, bummer, I was hoping "Heartfirst" was going to win here, but I'm still satisfied with the end result. Thanks so much for hosting bboat11! I'm looking forward to the Rolling Up the Welcome Mat rankdown!

I feel like “The Little Things” needed one more alternate chorus to really be an out of the park home run. The chorus feels so short so when she doesn’t have something new to say there until the end I feel like there are only so many little things she describes that it slightly missed the mark of explaining how great love can be without grand gestures.
That said, I still really like it!

There you have it! While "Heartfirst" managed to put up the illusion of being competitive by only finishing 5 points behind at the end, that wall of #1s for "If You Go Down" speaks for itself!! This sassy Dixie-Chicks-esque jam was our clear winner for the entire rankdown! Clearly Kelsea chose correctly for her followup single, at least in terms of Pulse's taste! I personally think "I Can't Help Myself" and "Muscle Memory" sound like safer smash hits for radio, but this clearly has all the makings of a fan favorite, whether radio ultimately takes it to #1 or not! Hopefully they do!! "Heartfirst" is still so catchy, and I can't believe it stalled the way that it did at radio... Imo this set the scene perfectly for the amazing era that Kelsea was about to hit us with, and has only gotten better every time I have listened to it to this day! Sorry for the double post but I was a little behind and wanted to say I agree - I was surprised it was chosen as a single over those 2 as well, but I think when the pop-sounding lead didn’t do as well as they hoped, they over-corrected with the most country sounding song on the record. It’s ok with me as I love this one too and the lyrics are clever, but I still think Muscle Memory would have smashed second.

Oh damn at I Can't Help Myself barely made in top 5. Definitely like the fiddle in this and it generally feels like an updated solid Shania Twain song. At least the better single won. You know it's good if a non-country forum poster sent it in a Madness game. Thanks bboat11 for hosting. I can rank the EP immediately.

I want to listen to this EP in full so I can give it the review it deserves.
