 Responsibility for the Kelsea Ballerini rankdowns fell into my lap a couple years ago when the original host for the rankdown combining her first two albums flopped, prompting me to take it over and revive it. Since then, she has released a new album, and has racked up several more hits! We are going to finally rank that album now! However, since we did the first Kelsea Ballerini rankdown, several more people have joined the forum, she released a Deluxe version of her second album that did not come out in time for us to rank it, and we have also largely decided that we hate having rankdowns that combine multiple albums together....SO I also reserve the right to potentially redo rankdowns for her first two albums in here as well  Hopefully we get lots of people wanting to check her out further who weren't around the first time we tried to rank her!!! |

This is another one I still haven't got around to yet so the rankdown is a blessing! So far I know hq?, Hole, and Halsey... Ya'll know homecoming still hasn't really clicked with me but I think most of the album will and maybe make it even grow on me.
I'll do both versions when I do it as well :)

The Kelsea versions are so much better! Instead of doing other versions of the songs, she should've released a new album, having so many unreleased songs.

I wasn't around when the first Kelsea Ballerini rankdown took place, and with a new album having been released last year, I'm happy to have the chance to join in this time around! Also gives me an excuse to re-listen to my favorites from The First Time and re-listen to the incredible Unapologetically! Glad to see it's an album series too!

I can't really guarantee that I'll do the first two albums immediately or anything, but I did want people to know that I'm considering it for the near-ish future. I mean, the first attempt happened before the Unapologetically Deluxe edition had even come out, and I'd rather not just cram those bonus tracks into a premature Extras rd like we're doing with Luke Combs right now, lol. The rankdown scene has changed so much since then anyway! So that's something I'll consider, maybe in several months once the rankdown queue gets less crazy :) |

Excited for this! And glad to see we're doing a combined rankdown where we can just choose our preference from each version rather than doing both of them separately. Granted, there are several songs I have strong opinions about in one rendition vs. the other, but it's not enough to warrant a whole separate ranking imo, so yay @ not taking that approach, lol.

Gonna be honest, not a huge fan of most of the music on the album, though I like some of the lyrics so maybe the more stripped back versions would be better for them, I'm really not sure how to approach this lmao I think based on what bboat11 said in the album's post that it's quite similar to how we just did Come On Over and Up! where you ranked based on your sonic preference of individual tracks but just didn't say which version you were ranking of each track cause in the long run that detail didn't matter. |

I found the Kelsea album to be too sonically forced into pop. but at the end of the day, it won't matter which versions of the songs you rank and you won't have to specify that info on your list. |

I'd then remove the version of the song I disliked and kept the other one. After all was said and done, I ended up submitting nine versions from ballerini and only four from the original album. Like me, I think you'll find the stripped down versions better than the original. |

I think the difference for me here is I was already familiar with Up! And knew the 3 different versions and knew which I preferred, whereas here I don't but I'll listen to the ballerini album and rank it separately and compare them and so similar to what tim did. Some of the ballerini versions are LIGHTYEARS better than “kelsea.”
In particular, these songs are not that good on kelsea but SHINE on ballerini for me:

For me, there's only a few versions of songs on ballerini that I prefer to the original. One of them is "Love and Hate" which would be my last place on the original record, but it could be top 5 if I use the other rendition, so not sure how to rank that one, lol. The rest is pretty easy tho.

I loved the main album but the ballerini versions are soo much better overall. Like .indulgecountry "love and hate" is the biggest swing and I'm having a hard time deciding how to place it. Then again I'm one of the few who'd rather rank the two versions of the album separately (same with Up! lol) |
