#16 "Getaway Love"
Total: 118
Average: 13.11 Std Dev: 3.44
austin - 5 kluen - 12 🌺CountryLineDancer - 12 .indulgecountry - 13 bboat11 - 14 zaclord 🌈 - 15 someguy - 15 tim - 15 gardyfan - 17 The next song to leave with 18 points gap is Gateway Love. This song received six bottom 5 rankings, including the last spot from gardyfan . Meanwhile, austin becomes the second participant to lose their top 5 song. The write of this song includes Emily Weisband, who also appeared as a background singer. Unrelated, but Emily just released a song called Champagne and Sushi, which is worth listening to. CLD's ThoughtThis song has a decent chorus melody and the overall vibe of the song is pleasant. However, even with TR's standard, this song is heavily produced to be a pop song. I can see Charlie Puth singing this one.

#15 "Kiss Me Like a Stranger"
Total: 115
Average: 12.78 Std Dev: 3.77
CLD's ThoughtThis is such a weak song, and easily the most forgettable song in the list. It's not like it is unlistenable, but there is nothing distinct about the melody or production of this one and I can fall asleep with this one for sure

#14 "When We're 80"
Total: 104
Average: 11.56 Std Dev: 3.28
CLD's ThoughtThis song has a pretty chorus melody with a pleasant production. The lyrics feel a bit clumsy with the repetition of hey hey hey, aye aye aye at the chorus, but overall a solid track.

#13 "Cardboard Heart"
Total: 103
Average: 11.44 Std Dev: 4.48
CLD's ThoughtThe lyrics may be silly, but I found this song to be quite fun. Easily the best one from the deluxe tracks, despite low competition. I kinda forgot about this song until it showed up in the Castle's Pulse Top 50, and I realized how catchy this song is. I am going out for a bit, and will continue the reveal later tonight or tomorrow, so drop your thoughts on the bottom 5 so far!!

"Cardboard Heart" was 💩
Actually, so far "When We're 80" is the only song we've lost so far that was somewhat decent, lol.

#12 "Grave"
Total: 97
Average: 10.78 Std Dev: 4.94 (2nd Highest) Peak: #23 (HC) CLD's ThoughtThis song has a strong production that evokes dynamic imagery and its empowering atmosphere fits well as the closing track of the original album. I just wish that the melody was a little stronger. It also sounds like something I would expect to hear on Christian radio (MercyMe, Citizen Way etc), although I am speaking from my limited knowledge on that format.

#11 "Leave Right Now"
Total: 94
Average: 10.44 Std Dev: 3.94 Peak: #38 (HC) CLD's Thought
Honestly surprised that this song was not super polarizing. This song is unique in that its production is heavily influenced by the modern EDM song. I do not mind the good mixture of EDM and country, but this did not really work for me. The EDM part is not that catchy, and the connection between the verse and EDM part did not feel smooth. I just wish there was a regular chorus to this song, as the verse is quite solid. I actually like Martin Jensen Mix more than the original. I would also rank Nashville mix (some decent guitar production!) over original. Remixes

#10 "Smooth Like the Summer"
Total: 92
Average: 10.22 Std Dev: 3.03
CLD's ThoughtThis song has a pleasant groovy vibe, but not a fan of the chorus part. The way TR sings "Smooth Like Summer" feels somewhat detached from the song, and I could not get into the song because of that. I might have enjoyed the song a little better if the key of the chorus was a bit higher. The melody is also not catchy enough if they were aiming for a summer jam.

Average: 9.89 Std Dev: 2.93 (3rd Lowerst) Peak: #41 (HC) CLD's ThoughtThis song has a pleasant melody, but after listening to the entire album, it may end up being a little forgettable. This is also not the best waltz song on the album.

#8 "Renegades"
Total: 88
Average: 9.78 Std Dev: 4.63 (3rd Highest)
bboat11 - 2 .indulgecountry - 7 someguy - 8 tim - 8 🌺CountryLineDancer - 8zaclord 🌈 - 9 kluen - 15 austin - 15 gardyfan - 16 With 1 point difference, Renegades managed to sneak into the top half of the list. bboat11 lost #2 with this reveal, following his #1 loss earlier. At the same time, this song received three bottom 3 rankings, resulting in this being the third most polarizing song. Also, three participants scored the perfect rankings. CLD's ThoughtThis song has a nice guitar production throughout the song, especially distinct at the bridge after the second chorus. The chorus melody is also quite strong, and overall it is a nice sing-along roadtrip jam. If I was more familiar with this song, I can see myself ranking this higher than what I did.

#7 "When You Look Like That"
Total: 77
Average: 8.56 Std Dev: 2.65 (3rd Lowest)
CLD's ThoughtThis is easily one of the best album tracks from the album, and the superior slower waltz tempo song. I love the chorus melody and lyrics flow well at the chorus. The production has a room for improvement, but I do enjoy the guitar solo before the final chorus.

The title track is straight up ass and needs to gtfo. At least the other singles and DLAB range from mid to good.

Time to wrap this up!!
#6 "Drink a Little Beer" (featuring Rhett Akins)"
Total: 57
Average: 6.33 Std Dev: 4.18
CLD's ThoughtThis song has a fantastic melody, and Rhett's addition is making the song a little more interesting, not just because it is a father-son collab, but also because it is adding different layers of vocals. Happy that this managed to be the best performing album track in the game. The lyrics may not be so different from other drinking happy songs, but they did a great job coming up with this melody.

#5 "Unforgettable"
Total: 53
Average: 5.89 Std Dev: 2.76 Peak: #1 CLD's ThoughtI like this song for its fast tempo and the melody is also decent. The lyrics and production are definitely not close to TR's best, compared with his other radio singles, and if this was released right now with TR's declining momentum on the radio chart, I can see this moving even less needle. Overall, I like it, but weak among other singles on his catalogue.

#4 "Craving You" (featuring Maren Morris)"
Total: 47
Average: 5.22 Std Dev: 2.44 (2nd Lowest) Peak: #1 tim - 1 .indulgecountry - 2 zaclord 🌈 - 4kluen - 5 bboat11 - 6 someguy - 7 austin - 7 🌺CountryLineDancer - 7 gardyfan - 8 The next single to exit is the final collaboration standing in the game, Craving You. This song received no bottom half ranking, being the second least polarizing song in the game. tim lost their #1 with this reveal. This song was released as the lead single from the project, and got him back to the Billboard top 40 for the first time since Die A Happy Man. CLD's ThoughtThis song has a nice music video and the vocal performance, especially the Maren's part, was distinct. I am not too sold on the melody of the song though, and I do prefer TR's other collaborations over this one. Hence, this was my lowest ranking single in the game. Given the popularity of Maren (or early Maren) on this forum, I am a little surprised that this missed the top 2.

The flaming dumpster fire of a title track is higher than this? Lol wtaf. There you have it! #3 "Life Changes"
Total: 46
Average: 5.11 Std Dev: 5.69 (Highest) Peak: #1 CLD's ThoughtInteresting to see some low placements for this song. This song to me is T-Shirt #2 with a better melody and more interesting lyrics. It is definitely on the poppy side, but it's definitely catchier and the lyrics around TR's career is more interesting (if not clever) than other generic wording.

Aaand here is our winner! Sixteen received two #1 rankings with no rankings outside of the top 5, being the least polarizing song, and took the crown! This song was released as the final single from this era. Marry Me came to the second place, with 9 points difference. This one also received two #1 rankings, but also received #10 ranking from someguy , whose ranking helped their own #1 to win the game. This one was the third single from the era, and it became the most impactful hit from the album, with #30 peak on Billboard Hot 100. CLD's Thought I do like both songs almost equally, so I have no complaint about this ending. I remember enjoying how the lyrics of Marry Me turned out when I gave it a first listen when it was released, and I do also like the mid tempo melody of the song. Sixteen was also a well-written song with slightly inferior melody. I always found the lyrics to be a little similar to Life Changes in that both songs are focusing on "growing up", but I do prefer the lyrics of Sixteen cuz of its details and depth, in comparison to Life Changes, which focuses solely on TR's experience and the chorus is a bit generic. (I still ranked Life Changes higher due to its melody). I was also pleasantly surprised that they chose this song as the final radio single from the era, as I thought this would just end up as a strong album track.

Closing Thought- Thanks for the participation. The finale was a little surprising in that Marry Me did not win over Sixteen, although their previous battle in the YE RD favoured Marry Me by 18 spots. As well, with 1 point difference, Life Changes managed to top Craving You, even though the former ended at #67 in the YD RD, while the latter made it to the top 30 in the RD year before. Also it was unique in that the top 5 songs were all radio singles; even after considering single biases that are unavoidable in many RDs, there is usually one album track that's favored by fans and one single that collects all the hate. No complaint though, as I personally like all the singles, and excluding Craving You, I have them in my regular country playlist (nothing against CY, and I don't really mind including it at this point lol). We are moving on to Center Point Road, which includes my fav TR song "Notice", so looking forward to seeing how it performs in this game. Until next winter!! Meanwhile, I am moving on to the Canadian YE series again, as well as Megan Moroney to follow soon. Don't forget to leave final comments on this game! Final Result1 "Sixteen"(26) 2 "Marry Me"(35) 3 "Life Changes"(46) 4 "Craving You" (featuring Maren Morris)(47) 5 "Unforgettable"(53) 6 "Drink a Little Beer" (featuring Rhett Akins)(57) 7 "When You Look Like That"(77) 8 "Renegades"(88) 9 "Sweetheart"(89) 10 "Smooth Like the Summer"(92) 11 "Leave Right Now"(94) 12 "Grave"(97) 13 "Cardboard Heart"(103) 14 "When We're 80"(104) 15 "Kiss Me Like a Stranger"(115) 16 "Gateway Love"(118) 17 "Country Gold"(136) Perfect Rankings: zaclord 🌈 - 5 gardyfan - 4 bboat11 - 4 tim - 4 someguy - 3 🌺CountryLineDancer - 3 kluen - 2 austin - 1 .indulgecountry - 0 Congrats to zaclord 🌈 for getting perfect rankings for almost 1/3 of the list!

"Marry Me" is the runaway best song on this record, so I'm a bit surprised and disappointed it lost, but at least it was to one of the album's other tolerable singles. "Sixteen" is cute.
Fun fact about "Marry Me" that makes it even more memorable for me is that the lead actress in the music video is someone I'd met IRL. She used to date my college roommate and I actually met her when they were together because she came to visit one weekend... and then fast forward & this single came out about 3 years later and I was like "I recognize that girl..." so I looked her up on FB and sure enough, lol. Small world.
