I'm not sure how the two Hot 100 threads work so sorry if this is in the wrong one. However, I hope Harry manages to beat the records for highest jump on the Hot 100 and highest jump to #1. Me by Taylor Swift got close in 2019 (#100-#2) and it currently holds the record for the highest jump. Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You still holds the highest jump to #1 (#97-#1). I was hoping Green Light would do it when it debutted at #100 in March 2017, but it only jumped to #19 People usually seem to forget this, Katy Perry - Part Of Me might be the closest to do it actually. It debuted at #1 on Bubbling Under and then was #1 on the Hot 100 the week after. So just a few more points in its first week and it could've gone 100-1. Ummmmmmm. Why do I have an avatar? I'm guessing it's April Fools lol.

You're right, however I don't think #1 on Bubbling Under necessarily means #101. Can a song re-enter bubbling under if it charts and falls off? People commonly don't realize Bubbling Under is a whole separate chart with differing guidelines. Bubbling Under only allows songs that have not reached Hot 100 yet. Part Of Me may have been the #1 song on Bubbling Under, but that doesn't mean it would translate to #101 on Hot 100 considering there could be a handful of songs that have charted on Hot 100 and would've had more points than Part Of Me while not having enough points to make #100. A song being #99 last week and then falling off the Hot 100 could still have more points this week than the #1 song on Bubbling Under, it just isn't eligible to chart there. It used to be worse a few years back because I remember even Wikipedia pages would falsely claim a song had a "#120" peak in US because it was #20 on Bubbling Under.

Harry pulling massive numbers in *2022*? Shawn Mendes might get a hit again? Debuts all over the Spotify charts let alone (technically) 4 debuts in the top 10? Sheck Wes on track to getting another top 40 hit? Out Of Time finally getting somewhere which will be aided by its music video later in the week?
This isn’t an April Fools joke but an actual interesting week for once! All those top 10 Spotify debuts all have AM positions as well. We might also have small album bombs from Yeat and (yet again) Youngboy, so its going to be an actual shake up on Billboard and this is where the true 2022 starts for me.

Harry Styles has done the impossible. Something none of us ever expected. He released a hit song in 2022

Can we thank our lord and savior of the charts, Harry Styles for driving up streams for every other song in the New Music Friday playlist? Many songs have debuted in the Top 200 when they wouldn’t in any other week. Like who is listening to Gryffin and Yeat? I mean, Yeat is definitely not as popular as Harry, but people are definitely listening to him as he has been rising in popularity these past several months.

Good to see NUMBERS but the gap to second most streamed just demonstrates how bad the drought has been in recent weeks after 'Bruno' started to fade.

BUT! Lets not turn this whole thread into a singalong lol
How well do we think the new Shawn Mendes song is gonna do? At this point its only like the third biggest story of the week but I think this is the best any of his singles have done since Monster

So, I just listened to "As It Was" (great song, 8/10), and then I'm doing a mini Harry Styles-stream party and start playing his other songs. And holy sh*t, why are we letting Falling flop? That song is so f*cking beautiful. I felt the emotion in Harry's voice. It was a masterpiece. (Also, you guys are idiots for not making Golden a hit.) Kiwi and Two Ghosts should've been hits too.

Damn bieber needs to perform ghost at the Grammys. 600k US streams now, his most longevity type of organic hit. I’m scared for Harry’s drop off tomorrow, the YouTube views have seen a huge decline in day 2. Idk if there’s any correlation between YouTube and Spotify though.
Could the weeknd finally get a hit with Dawn FM? We will see. This is his last chance

The pop landscape wasn't ready for Harry back in 2017/18 (remember, Sign of the Times didn't even last 15 weeks on the charts. Some of y'all would've called it a bomb/flop). But don't sweat too much about it not getting success back then because now it has. Every single song on Harry's debut has over 100M+. Hell, Two Ghosts, Kiwi, and From the Dining Table have 200M+ streams (Kiwi has 347M actually) and none of those songs charted! And as for Sign of the Times: almost approaching 1B streams.

What Harry lacks in singles success he more than makes up for in album success. He was the second artist behind Olivia to get at least 100m streams on all his songs on Spotify (with double the songs even). I always took that as a sign that people weren’t just interested in whatever single he was promoting, but in his music and him as an artist in general.

Honestly I wasn't expecting Shawn Mendes to get another hit. So When You're Gone doing well is shocking to me.

Hot take: Falling should’ve been the late-album single pushed from Fine Line instead of Golden. I like Golden just like everyone else, but it always felt more like a beloved deep cut than a single to me.

not sure how that works—does this mean he had the biggest "first 24-hours" ever? or is it the unfiltered streams they're talking about?
either way, I'm glad we finally have something exciting to talk about. would love to see it do well in the long run if it indeed debuts at #1.

Here’s hoping that Harry can make Golden chart the same way Posty made I Fall Apart chart when he released rockstar. The fact that it re entered the Spotify charts means that it could happen but then again it’s probably best to let the streaming audience decide if they want to make it a lowkey sleeper hit or not.

Thank you, and have a great day! {When will other people's faves...}

They better came through, man. They lost Katy, Gaga, then Miley. They don't want to lose their biggest star.

As It Was is basically a worse version of Less Than Zero with a much weaker chorus. I think the song builds forever but never goes anywhere.

Woah huge Popstar Harry styles’ comeback single didn’t “flop” Like The weekend who has been inescapabale on the charts for over 2 years and performed like…. Someone who fans have been craving for 2 years??? Shocking news. Next you’ll say that Rihana dropping music would have her debut crazy high too!
No but seriously these numbers are MUCH more than I could’ve even guessed 💀

Yeah, I expected 10-11M streams WW and 3,5-4M in the US. This is just on another level.
