From the sun. www.google.com/amp/s/www.the-sun.com/entertainment/5037898/sam-smith-new-single-love-me-more/amp/IT’S been two years since Sam Smith put out a record, but we can reveal that the superstar is back with an upbeat new single. The velvet-voiced singer is releasing Love Me More, which promises a party, celebratory sound and should guarantee a return to the charts. The video is filming later this month, with the single expected to drop not long after.” They’re all about love, laughter and being able to go out and dance again and want that to reflect in their music after a heavy few years. Of course, Sam will be maintaining their classic sound too, but expect Love Me More to have an anthemic, dancey feel.

Anyways…..
Sam’s got Stargate on this, they have an good track record with Sam…
“Too Good At Goodbyes” & “Dancing With A Stranger” being smashes gives this an optimistic feeling.

I hope they don't completely retreat into ballad mode.

To clarify, the preview sounds very Hot AC and part phase of Sam Smith inc whereby the singer was changing the pronouns in Whitney covers so as not to be too 'gay' about it, long before Sam was invoking the woman trapped within to do choreoo discoy sparkle Pop, and now back to the black/white earnest thing from before since Sam has seen diminishing returns success wise.

First of all, not you assuming everything on a 10-second snippet knowing damn good well, that can easily switch to something more lively.. Second, Love Goes wasn’t an diminishing success at the slightest, with it being certified platinum (with two of their other albums going multi platinum) selling over 5.3M WW about to surpass their second album overall units. Third, the “sparkle pop” will stay considering this new album will be more dance focused., literally from the sun article when they revealed “Love More More“ before anyone else.. “They’re all about love, laughter and being able to go out and dance again and want that to reflect in their music after a heavy few years” This is clearly confirmed from another track titled “Bluebird” which supposed to feature 16 dancers, so again.. why are you getting so pressed over an B&W single cover?

Look, the fact that Sam still has superfan here or there willing to go to the hilt in a single thread is great, I guess. Pressed is certainly applicable, not sure it's directed at the right person in this instance. My point - since you seem to be shrieking at ones I haven't been making as though I've stumbled into Sam-Smith.megaforum.org/forum: Sam is back to, or Sam's team are, hyping/marketing the music with somber shots and stripped back piano instrumentals. Kid yourself all you want, this is a deliberate pivot to getting the soccer Moms etc. who buy two albums a year from the supermarket, a demo which Sam has lost in the less successful follow ups that came after In The Lonely Hour. It's a move I noted because it plays into a broader one about Sam Smith's career as a whole, which is privileged, pampered, financier Mom backed, focus grouped, naked-capitalism branded as underdog/counter-cultural soul-bearing. Capitol may or may not have the 'non-binary Adele' angle locked back in earnest, but the 'love' EPs, stripped back live albums, Coldplay covers etc. all telegraph the pivot. Which is a predictably cynical move in a career chock full of them.

Jesus Christ..all of this because of an 24 second piano intro with an B&W single cover, Their first was an very huge era and certainly impossible to repeat but change the fact Sam still found great success in the follow-ups, it’s not easy selling over 8M albums in the USA alone (30M WW) especially in “Love Goes” case where some absolutely hated the pure pop sound and still did well, Sam doesn’t need the soccer moms for success entirely and yes your correct of their mom helping them out when Sam’s opportunity jumped, would you use all your recourses if the opportunity presented itself? also they were literally cleaning bar toilets before hand… so I have no idea why you brought that up in a singles thread.

Omg. I can’t. I’m dying at this perception of Sam and their music clip. DRAMATIQUE.
His stand alone dance songs were smashes, so I’d say Sam he been pretty successful during their whole career, except for one or two singles, which is to be expected. Diamonds I can understand why it wasn’t as huge, and I can definitely understand why the Demi duet flopped, but other than that I’d say they’re doing just fine.

Posting excitement is not dramatics at the slightest hun but carry on 😍 Good to know your quoted melodrama, from this thread nonetheless, is 'excitement'. Let's not cross over to overexcitement. You could be forgiven for mistaking this single thread for the near-barren void you spam/multi-post to crickets + tumblweed in the Sam Smith album thread, but it isn't. Anyone is at liberty to post reactions to new music in new music threads. I noted what I find to be the latest cynical twist in a cynical career, you yapped away summonsing all kinds of hyperbole as you seem to do anybody that doesn't heap praise on Sam, and then said we need to dial down the dramatics. Which not only makes you an oversensitive reactionary, but lacking in self-awareness. Enjoy the song :)
