Flashing Lights, easily. Graduation-era Kanye was really solid, even if this set really isn’t.
Also, f**k Have You Forgotten, that’s the worst hit song of the 2000s by a landslide.

yikes this set was rough, at least the last four songs were all good to make up for that lmao
1. flashing lights 2. i run to you
3. when i'm gone 4. shut up and drive (confession: this was actually my first time listening to this song in full, i've heard snippets of it before in movies and video games and shit like that but this was my first time giving this a full listen lol)
5. here's to the night 6. uh huh
7. what about now
8. true
9. american soldier
--infinite spaces later--
10. have you forgotten? (fuck this garbage, definitely a strong contender for the worst hit song of the century so far)

1. Shut Up and Drive 2. I Run to You (I usually don't like a lot of country, but this is really cute) 3. Flashing Lights 4. When I'm Gone 5. Uh Huh (way better than Julia Michaels' awful song) 6. What About Now 7. Here's to the Night 8. True 9. American Solider
1,000. Have You Forgotten? (No, but I wish I could forget this awful song...also, I once had to analyze this song for a college class and it was literal torture lol)

1. "Flashing Lights" 2. "I Run To You" (I was so looking forward to voting for this, until I realized "Flashing Lights" is also in the set...) 3. "True" 4. "Shut Up and Drive" (the WALK THE MOON song definitely did not exist in 2007 ) 5. "When I'm Gone" (nice song, but not one of his best) 6. "American Solider" (nice country song) 7. "Uh Huh" 8. "What About Now" 9. "Here's to the Night" ("Inside Out" definitely aged better than this) 10. "Have You Forgotten?" (yes, actually; I obviously don't hate this as much as most people here, it seems, but I definitely don't care to ever hear it again)

"Have You Forgotten" about those?

"Have You Forgotten" about those? At least with those songs, as awful as they all are, they were just meant to be empty club bangers and nothing more. Have You Forgotten goes above and beyond in awfulness, both in terms of what it's saying and what it represents in the larger context of politics and the music industry. Also keep in mind that it became a hit the same year that The Chicks got blackballed by Nashville radio for their antiwar comments, so in that case it was especially galling to see such an abhorrent song become a hit in that incident's wake. Also RoseColoredGirl, you have my sympathy for suffering through that college assignment.

Flashing Lights, easily
as an aside, Have You Forgotten is my least favorite year end hit of the whole millennium so far tbh. Just awful faux-patriotic war porn bullshit disguised as a 9/11 tribute

Like some of these songs but not many big faves here. My favorites would be: "Here's to the Night," "Uh Huh," "True," "When I'm Gone," "Shut Up and Drive" and "Flashing Lights."
Not really sure which to vote for, but guess I'll go with "When I'm Gone" for now. Although I could switch to any of the others.

Guessing I'm in the minority of people voting for True.

CLASSIC 1. Flashing Lights
Good 2. I Run to You
Okay 3. Shut Up and Drive (I'll have more to say in the Rihanna Singles RD) 4. When I'm Gone 5. Here's to the Night 6. American Solider (seperate from the ugly context of the Iraq War, it's a fine enough song I guess)
Mediocre 7. Uh Huh 8. What About Now 9. True
9TH CIRCLE OF HELL 10. Have You Forgotten? (without a doubt the worst hit song of the decade and I'm glad this is the majority opinion. Absolutely DISGUSTING propaganda)
