Kylie will be working on her new album next year. Alistair Norbury, who is the BMG UK president, said the following: Is there a limit to where BMG can go?
I worried about that for a period of time, because I kept thinking 'is the well going to dry up'? Then I discovered that what we are doing is building a roster. So next year we'll start our third album with Kylie, and we only expected to do one. So the roster is building to a size where it is almost self-sustaining. We already know our first Q1 and Q2 releases for next year. But we also know there is a huge untapped market out there. There was a time I would not be confident sitting down with a certain type of artist. Now, I'd be happy to sit down with them, tell them about BMG, what we're doing and our successes. I don’t think that in the foreseeable future that’s a problem. And we're starting to sign less but bigger.

First half of 2023. The following was mentioned by The Sun. Moving back to Australia hasn't slowed down Kylie Minogue's momentum for making music. I can reveal she has all but completed her 16th studio album and secretly jetted into London last week to play the record for her label. She met with bosses at BMG so they could listen to her new songs and discuss the collection's release – which isn't too far away.
A source told me: "Everything is being treated as top secret. Most people at the label didn't even know she was coming. She quietly flew into London to visit bosses at BMG. They were really impressed and talks moved on to how they will roll it out. Details are being ironed out but the album is scheduled to drop in the first half of 2023."
It will be her first album since Disco, which was the fastest-selling record from a solo artist in 2020. Earlier this summer I told how Kylie had hit the studio with songwriter Kamille, who helped write some of Little Mix's most-loved hits plus songs with Jax Jones and Mabel. As well as producing a monster back catalogue, Kylie has always been one of the nicest people in the industry so I can't wait to hear what she's come up with.

I'm interested in hearing what she's been working on. If I am not mistaken she took inspiration from her song 'Slow' to build that type of sound in for her new record?
I admit I lost track with Kylie probably around the Nashville era, and I didn't catch on to the disco work much, but if she used 'Slow' as her north star for this project, I want to hear how it came out.

I wouldn’t mind elements of disco on the new record.

SG Lewis wants to work with Kylie. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj3nntWujG2 This is an extract of the interview to Jerry Nunn, which you could read it here. Is there a dream artist you would like to work with?
Kylie Minogue would be great.
Some people don't like to answer that question because they think it will be bad luck.
I think just the opposite. I want to put it out in the world to see if it would happen. Kylie put a couple of my songs on her Spotify playlist so we see if something happens one day. Let's manifest it!

I cannot wait for this record. Disco was amazing. SG Lewis with Kylie would be a dreammmm. He knows what the f*ck he's doing on those dance records. Hopefully someday!

I mean if the album is complete, I wouldn’t want their collaboration to cause further delay. Just saying.

I'm curious what Kylie came up with this time. She hasn't done as well with non-concept or non-themed albums since Body Language but I'm a huge stan and will probably eat it up regardless.

I imagine we’ll have the new single by the time world pride comes along in February.

Looks like Kylie will be doing a tour too. This is an extract of her interview to Evening Standard. "To start a new venture in my fifties feels great, and to be at the helm is even better," says the singer who inspired a generation of women to get their breasts checked after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 37. After surgery and chemotherapy she was given the all-clear in 2006. "My determination is quiet, I don't make too much noise about it, but it is strong."
Despite all this, "music still is everything," Minogue says. Following 2020's chart-topping global hit Disco — which went straight to number one in both the Australian and the UK album charts on the same day — Minogue has started to record a new album, expected to drop later next year.
"I've worked in Melbourne, Brighton, London, Surrey, Croatia and recently Paris so far — and most sessions have been back in the studio which has been a true delight," she says.
One of her co-writers and producers is Biff Stannard, one third of Biffco, the team responsible for The Spice Girls' rise to fame with "Wannabe", and a previous collaborator with Minogue on corkers such as "In Your Eyes" and "Say Something". While she¿s not giving too much away, she promise the next album's "feel-good factor will be HIGH!"
She's itching to get back out onto the road too. "Not being able to tour Disco was so frustrating but I'm immensely proud of the Infinite Disco livestream show we did during the second lockdown. It was weird, challenging, upsetting but also uplifting connecting with all those people (over 300,000 of them) around the world."

Was thinking about Disco today and how important its success was to Kylie's legacy. Prior to checking out her chart and sales stats I assumed Kylie was in a similar league as other older divas like Madge, Mariah, Celine, Janet, Shania etc. commercially because of the incredibly warm reception to Disco both sales and appreciation-wise, but in reality Kylie has pulled much less numbers. I'm not saying that her success is of a lower caliber because of it, but what I can say is that Disco made a then non-fan like me really see Kylie in a new light.
I'm really excited for this new album and I hope that it will be of even better quality than Disco and consequently be even more beloved and successful.

Kylie never really broke out in America which is why she hasn't been as commercially successful as the other ones. It really is a shame though because her music is so good.

I think Disco did very well for Kylie standarts in streaming age. Not everyone can score a gold album in UK anymore.

I think Disco did very well for Kylie standarts in streaming age. Not everyone can score a gold album in UK anymore. Disco did really well for an album by an older artist. 200 million streams with multiple album tracks over 10 million streams and still gaining nearly 200,000 streams 2 years after release is a fantastic result, especially since Kylie has never been huge in the biggest streaming market globally. Add to that its excellent pure sales figures everywhere, the highly positive critical reception, the boost it gave to her catalogue, and the fact that it rejuvenated touring demand for her and I would call it her biggest era since Aphrodite and a huge success for her overall. It sets her up very well for KM16 and the rumoured residency next year + the tour in 2024. I just wish one of her songs, perhaps something like Better The Devil You Know or Confide In Me, gets featured in major Netflix show or goes viral on TikTok and has its own mini-Running Up That Hill moment.

I need the residency/tour this year though. :( I sound spoiled but I'm close to being done with the artists I NEED to see live. We're aging, Kylie!
Anyways, Purple Disco Machine and Kylie sound fucking iconic. That collab must be released.

I always felt that she was never able to appropriately capitalize on the good will Europe had towards her when she returned after her breast cancer diagnosis. X felt like a maintenance project return to business-as-usual release when it really could have been so much more. Another 'Light Years' moment wasn't out of reach for her back then.

X felt like a maintenance project return to business-as-usual release when it really could have been so much more. Another 'Light Years' moment wasn't out of reach for her back then. I know a lot of people may have differing opinions on this, but I think Kylie's Impossible Princess to Aphrodite run was one of the best for any major pop star. She consecutively put out fantastic albums and served immaculate visuals and tours to go along with them. The issue was that Parlophone really didn't know what to do with her post-Fever. They fumbled the rollouts for each of Body Language, X, Aphrodite, and Kiss Me Once horribly. Why wasn't Obsession a single from Body Language? Why was All I See (a song I adore) pushed as a North American single over Speakerphone, which was charting as a non-single in the region based solely on strong downloads. Better Than Today over Cupid Boy or Aphrodite? Just bad choices after bad choices for Kylie, and these butchered releases really negatively affected Kylie's career for a long time. I am glad she's with BMG now, since she seems to be in complete control now and her legacy feels stronger than it has felt in decades. Truly a 'Minogue-issance' for her.

I need to start saving up to fly to the UK for this tour! I don't want to keep missing out and that KTU festival is not the same as a full-blown Kylie tour.

Padam Padam is a BOP! Sounds like Skirt and Cherry Bomb hooked up in Dubai. If this is indicative of the new album's sound, I need it yesterday.

Yeah, it's definitely a sexy/refreshing lead from her. I do wish it had a bridge and was a little longer though (seriously, why is a 50 plus female pop star caving into streaming trends, GWORL, not your audience).
Still think "10 Out Of 10" is mid af though, she could have left that off. But I'm PERCHED for "Green Light." So many good songs with that title, it never fails, lol.
