This was featured on CT40’s launch pad segment this past weekend. I really like this and could see Shane getting a big hit here. There is a radio edit out already for the chorus replacing “Oughta be off your ass when that anthem gets sung”, to “Oughta be off your feet when that anthem gets sung”

Music video is out. This is a great tune, and nice to see it having a good start.

Audacy is the biggest reason why this one is soaring up the chart.
Half of its spins are Audacy-owned stations, including its top spin leaders. Climbed 15 spots to #49 on Mediabase and 11 spots to #44 on Billboard Country Airplay this week.

I remember Jelly Roll and Jackson Jean getting similar plays by Audacy stations when their singles came out. It’s similar to iHeart radio’s “On The Verge” program that used to break artists on their stations.

But they've also changed from currents to a lot of (0's mixed in last spring, and now they're playing everything country, with very few currents the last 2 weeks. However my iheart station has been playing the dickens out of this and I love it. They were playing it almost 2 months ago so I'm guessing if they weren't the first in the country they were close to it. In fact i remember seeing this show up on New And Active in Billboard and only had one station so I figured it was K102.

This isn't outright bad or anything, but I don't think it really brings anything new to the table either.... kind of has a been there, done that feel not only musically but lyrically. It just doesn't interest me that much personally.

This is the Diet Coke version of Luke Combs. Voices sound very similar. Not a bad song, I could see this one growing on me.

This song isn't bad by any means bad but I am shocked radio has glommed onto this so much for a new artist as there is nothing special or interesting about this song at all or even Shane Profitt as a vocalist imo.

Makes it into the Mediabase Top 20 tonight at #20 with a bullet of 224. I am lost on radio just going nutty with this song, this song has no streaming prescence (Music Video on YouTube has barely over 200k in views and has barely over a million streams on Spotify) and what about radio testing, well it is ranked at #43 on Monday Morning Intel which shouldn't leave me feeling the most confident for it's long term prospects. Oh and of course it has yet to chart on the Hot Country Songs chart as well.
Oh and this song is burning out on me fast, something about the lyrics just don't work for me. I can't place it, but it bugs me.

Oh and this song is burning out on me fast, something about the lyrics just don't work for me. I can't place it, but it bugs me. For me, it's the cringeworthy lyric about standing for the National Anthem that turns me off to this song. I can't hear that line without it irking me because it's very pander-y to the boot-licking Blue Lives Matter/MAGA type crowd that got triggered by people kneeling. I also hate the line about groceries costing more than rent because... I wanna know what grocery store he's going to, because there ain't no way, even with the sticker price rising astronomically in recent times. It's a decently catchy radio fodder track, but the lyrics are schlock and the entire song in its composition and the vocal performance is just so painfully a Luke Combs clone. His new song "Country Boys" is also absolutely dreadful. So far this guy is a pass from me.

The national anthem line is so cringe, and it really doesn’t make the song inclusive for everyone. I know country can be Republican leaning, but it usually doesn’t bleed into actual lyrics as much as this song does. I’ve always loved country music, but this song is a hard pass for me.

Yup, the national anthem line was an automatic pass for me. Don't think I even got through the full song. Hard, hard pass on this song and I really hope it can stall out sooner rather than later.

Man this guy must’ve had a fantastic radio tour and made an impression on radio PD’s cause this feels even less eventful than Frank Ray’s debut single, but somehow is getting solid support from radio. Nothing different or standout to me but maybe he’s a great live show. He’s one that should be on the road all year building his fanbase cause radio seems to be the only thing really on his side rn. I wonder how a Hot Country playlist add would do for his streams and awareness.

Pretty sure this has even less streams than Country'd Look Good on You at any rate; I can't imagine this is doing more than like 100-150k a week.

Glad to see the lack of buzz is starting to hurt this song as this has lost it's bullet two weeks in a row on Mediabase and fingers crossed it goes recurrent next week. Even if it doesn't it does seem like this has hit a wall on country radio as it feels like it has been stuck in the 18-23 range for a while.

Shane’s chart run thus far is very similar to “Don’t Come Lookin” from the quick start due to Audacy to stalling in the 18-23 range for quite a while. Jackson rebounded and eventually went to #1. Not sure how “Don’t Come Lookin” was doing research wise at the time though.

Looks like Shane is done with the -158 loss today. He had a good run with a #15 MB peak. Maybe his next single will get him to the top ten.
