It's a tremendous song, Brantley's best since "One Hell of an Amen."

HARDY co-wrote again huh. What role does Vince Gill play in this song?

It's a tremendous song, Brantley's best since "One Hell of an Amen." Between this affirmation and Blake Shelton's name being slapped onto it, I'm expecting this to be a push to get him back on track with country radio after a string of missteps. I'm looking forward to hearing it if it's on a similar wavelength to "Amen," which is indeed one of his best songs, if not THE best.

The snippet has a great instrumental production. Excited for this. And I know it won't happen, but I wish Blake Shelton would just drop boring No Body upon this release.

I enjoy it for sure, but it is just me or has Brantley lost a ton of vocal strength? Not that he had much to begin with, but it sounds like heâs struggling to even sing now

Not that he had much to begin with, but it sounds like heâs struggling to even sing now I've noticed him sounding rougher as his career progresses as well, and it doesn't really help that he's dueting with Blake Shelton here who has a pretty characteristically 'strong' voice. It wasn't as noticeable when he was singing next to someone like HARDY on his last single, lol.

Brantley Gilbert, Randy Montana, Hunter Phelps, and Taylor Phillips are also credited as writers on this song.

After three straight #1 country albums, Brantley's So Help Me God debuts at a paltry #35 on the charts. đ„Ž
This song also debuted at #29 and then fell all the way back to #54 on the charts (where it holds in its third week). Things continue to not look all that promising for Brantley reigniting his country career.

Had no clue the album was even out. Just went to preview the album and they already screwed up the single choices. âMiles of Memoriesâ is phenomenal and sounds more current. âHeaven by Thenâ isnât bad but itâs just not the type of song to generate much buzz. Honestly wonder if Brantley would be better off going the rock route, as his harder sounding songs seems like a fit with Active rock radio.

Not releasing â17 Againâ or âLights of my Hometownâ to radio from that excellent 2013 album will always puzzle me.

^I was about to comment the same. Fire't Up is one of the worst single choices in history, and killed all the momentum. I mean it was not like he was connecting really well with "What Happens in a Small Town", but he was still constantly scoring decent hits. If he went with the obvious choice "Man That Hung the Moon," things may have played out very differently.

Iâm glad this is finally near the top 40 and I see this probably having a really long run that gets in into the top 30 or 20 like âHard daysâ had. This might be the best song in my opinion on the radio right now even though I can tell Brantley is struggling a bit vocally. I hate to say this but I doubt we ever see his name at the top spot anymore.

Vince Gill, it would've already flopped imo.

Should have just released the Jelly Roll feature. Feel like that could have at least stream/sold well and made some noise.

Which would be annoying since it already debuted at #29 and that'll probably be its peak or the best it can hope for is just a little higher than that, but honestly I don't think it'll top its #29 start tbh.

Not that I dislike this song a lot or anything, but I just think that this is a waste of a chart spot. As indulge pointed out, there is little chance of this outpeaking #29, considering that there is literally no buzz around this song. Surely having Blake is helping Brantley, but even Blake as a solo artist has been missing the top 10 recently, so I must predict that this would go to recurrent in 4 months or so when it was stalling around #32. I would rather see this song giving up the chart spot for a newer artist and speeding up the chart run, instead of clogging the chart for nothing.

Eh I do like this song and while it's not lighting the charts on fire, it's doing fine? Has made it up to #38 on Billboard and #40 on Mediabase in 25 weeks which isn't good, but by 2023 standards is fine enough and I doubt Valory wants to let this go anytime soon since it may be a while before Brantley Gilbert reaches even Top 40 again.

This fell off this week after a debut and peak of #29. I enjoyed this song a lot being that Brantley is the lead vocalist but after seeing it not make gains for a few weeks I understand the decision to pull it. Hopefully Brantley releases something new to radio soon but it could be a little while due to his lack of success with this one.

Radio doesnât seem too interested in Brantley these days. Has he had a hit since What Happens in a Small Town?
