Republic will continue its chart dominance as Taylor Swift and Drake & 21 Savage lock down the top two spots on the HITS Top 50 for another week. The House of Lipman also places four tracks in the Top 7 as Morgan Wallen and The Weeknd remain steady. Meanwhile, Michael Jackson’s Thriller marks the 40th anniversary of its original, 11/30/82 release with a special reissue, and new releases from Roddy Ricch (Atlantic), Rod Wave (Alamo) and Disturbed (Reprise) will debut in the 30-35k range. Moreover, Christmas titles from Mariah Carey (Columbia), Nat King Cole (Capitol) and the Vince Guaraldi Trio (Concord) are starting their annual run up the chart. Rightsholders, we need hardly add, are giving thanks or yuletide catalog. Outside the Top 20, new debuts this week include Nickelback’s Get Rollin’ (BMG)—expected to open around 20k—and Dermot Kennedy’s Sonder (Interscope), which is currently leading the race for #1 across the pond per Official Charts, trending toward 12.5k. In other Thanksgiving news, which gummies pair best with a houseful of relatives? We're thinking all of them, everywhere, all at once. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=333852&title=A-THANKFUL-TOP-20

Another strong hold for Taylor. I think she's gonna be number one until Sam Smith come in late January. So maybe 10 weeks at #1? She could also release the physicals for the 3am version to extend that

She should have a decent run here at the top. Very impressive so far.

Wonder if she'll be able to beat 1989 and Fearless' 11-week runs.

Is Morgan Wallen literally going to be in the Top 5 forever?

I think she's gonna be number one until Sam Smith come in late January. So maybe 10 weeks at #1? I mean, a lot can happen between now and January, but I wouldn't count on Sam Smith to be a contender for number-one given that their last album managed 40k SPS and a No. 5 debut. Obviously they have a major hit this time around, but I'm not confident they will be back to six-figure opening week numbers. Could be competitive if it's between them and TS. Sam Smith album debuts: In the Lonely Hour (2014) — 166,000 albums — #2 The Thrill Of It All (2017) — 237,000 SPS (185,000 albums) — #1 Love Goes (2020) — 41,000 SPS (18,000 albums) — #5

^Pentatonix's album actually remained at #1 the following week that you mentioned as well with 101k SPS (with 85k pure sales).
MIchael Buble's Christmas was actually #2 for two weeks in January this year, but was prevented from getting back to #1 by 30. The best it did was 77k SPS in the first of those two weeks.

I think Midnights definitely have the strength to stay above the 100k SPS mark through the entire holiday season, and as mentioned above, the biggest threat during that period is probably Buble's Christmas, which even in best case scenario would probably top out below 100k SPS.

Think that even Dangerous may overtake UVST before UVST overtake Midnights

does anyone know if midnights is on track to be the best selling album globally this year?
I don't think Taylor has ever had the best selling album globally, she's been at #1 in the us for quite a few years though..

I don't know offhand, but I'm pretty sure Bad Bunny has been a global smash. She's gonna come pretty close to him in the US, but I imagine that would be hard to beat worldwide.

She's behind a few K-Pop acts who sells like 2-3 million from their home country alone. SPS, I don't think Midnights is beating Un Verano Sin Ti in the US where she's strongest, let alone worldwide

I'd say she has the upper hand everywhere but Latin America? However, his unprecedented dominance there, alongside his smashing in the US, should be more than enough to keep UVST at #1 in SPS

I think Midnights will beat Bad Bunny in the long run but it came out way too late to catch up before the chart year closes.

My too-early prediction is that the Bad Bunny album will have viral hits again in the next summer if he doesn't release new music by then.

Thriller could've been top 5 if that AMAs performance wasn't suddenly cancelled last minute.

30 actually had a greater fifth week in terms of SPS (212k) than Midnights' HITS predction, but 85% of that was pure sales boosted by the holiday week leading to Christmas. 30 ended up dropping down to 99k SPS the following week.

That wasn’t even the steepest drop that quarter. Sales slow in January.
