Not gonna lie this song is kind of good. Not anything amazing but man the melody in this song is really good imo. Definitely think this could easily be a hit.

This one definitely leans a little more rock, but you can still hear the country tones underneath. Not one of my favorites from Jelly yet, but I could see it growing on me. Doesn’t strike me as an automatic hit, but I do see the potential.

I’m not the biggest fan of “Son of a Sinner” but this one is pretty good! I’m not sure how far this one will make it, but I thought the same thing about SoaS and that went #1.

I love this so much. Jelly Roll is really great, saw him live last summer at RockFest and he killed it.

It has same chorus as Take a Little Ride of Jason Aldean.
Nothing special with this song except a good and solid vocal performance.

13 adds on country radio this week, add in the fact this doesn't impact for almost a full month and it is pretty clear country radio is really excited for this song.

This is decently catchy, but I don't hear a country song here at all. Sounds more like a straight up alternative rock tune. It feels ill-fitting for the format, and I'm still a bit surprised at his strong reception at country radio so far. I like it more than "Son of a Sinner" though, which I didn't care for at all, really.

I ended up really liking Son Of A Sinner, but this one is not as good. I still think that he's an interesting figure in the country music scene, so I would not mind him scoring another hit, even though I'm not keen on the song itself.

I kind of love this. I agree that it sounds very out of place on the country format, but I would not be opposed to hearing more of this sound mixed in. God knows we could use the variety.

This has really grown on me and Jelly Roll is definitely a star. Different sound, look, branding and super inspiring story. He’s on his way.

This is moving nicely on BB Mainstream Rock chart. If it somehow topped it and BB Country Airplay it would be the first time that’s ever happened.

Anything even close to it? I'm going on wikipedia and my memory, both of which are sketchy, if some one with more knowledge wants to correct, please be gentle. As I understand it, Country Airplay has only been around since 2012 and Mainstream Rock since 1981. (Hot Country Songs has existed in various forms for a lot longer) Off the top of my head I can't really think of anything since 81 that would have topped both. In 79 The Devil went down to Georgia was a Country #1 and might have been a Mainstream Rock #1 if such a thing had existed (maybe). Of course, a lot of classic Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis (and others) rock and roll songs hit #1 on the Country charts. ( mainstream rock in a literal sense, anyway. ) I yield the floor to some who knows what they are talking about. And to stay on topic, good luck to Jelly Roll.

Country Airplay has been around since January 1990 actually. It was just still called Hot Country Songs still back then but still monitored by airplay. They just changed the chart name to a Country Airplay in 2012.

Wow, album is really good. “Church” sounds like a smash, has to be the next single. “Kill A Man” is really good too. Think Jelly Roll is here to stay at country music.

Still not really feeling Jelly Roll but “Need a Favor” is #20 on the Hot 100 after only 10 weeks which is super impressive! This is certainly looking to be one of the big country hits of the year.

Yeah, this is really blowing up. Top 100 streaming songs on Apple Music, big gains at country radio, crushing rock radio too. A little surprised at how well this one is connecting but I enjoy seeing something really original perform so well.

I somehow didn’t hear this until the last week or so and I am OBSESSED with this. Wow. This is incredible - the melody and production are a home run.

Meant to chime in here a couple months ago, but better late than never I guess!
I’m not surprised at all that this is turning into such a big hit. From my initial listen I always felt that this song was the perfect blend of country and rock. It has some really nice traditional country-sounding touches in its production and to me it sounds like a great fit at country radio.
Excellent lyrics, too. I’m actually glad we’re seeing such long stays at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart lately, but I do hope “Need A Favor” can follow “Fast Car” at the top after its inevitable multi-week reign, because Jelly Roll has a big hit here and this definitely deserves at least a week at #1.
