I’m not sure how Fast Car gained 300 spins today but I think that confirms this isn’t making it to #1. I’m really sad about that, and I love both songs.

“Fast Car” leapt ahead of this one on Billboard, granted the gap is only 0.3 million so a BB #1 next week isn’t totally out of the question (but with how fast “Fast Car” is gaining it seems unlikely?).
This is my favorite single he’s ever released so far and I’m really happy about how fast it’s climbed. It’s just really bad timing that he ran into two of the biggest smashes the genre has seen in a while.

If they can go all out, I think they can do it. The gap isn't that bad but starting tomorrow they have to hit the accelerator and not let up in terms of Billboard. Regardless the song's overall popularity does still speak for itself and this should have a huge longevity for country music

It doesn't seem likely this gets Billboard, maybe a 20% chance? I know this song was huge and all, but it's probably one of my favorite songs in history (I love circle of life type stuff), so I really wanted it to get a week at the top. It's disappointing especially since at any other time, it itself would have gotten several weeks at the top. But getting sandwiched in between two gigantic smashes might be the worst luck ever

Starting to grow tired of Morgan blocking all these worthy songs from #1. Pretty sure most people want someone who is not Morgan Wallen or Luke Combs to hit #1. This great song is another unfortunate casualty.

The blocking started with Bailey Zimmerman. He gave over on BB to Morgan which will probably be followed by Luke. How many weeks at #1 will "fast car" get and will it then be followed by another Luke song or will Bailey have time to catch up?

Idk, but Need A Favor seems too big of a song to miss #1 on Country Airplay chart, especially since the industry is promoting Jelly Roll hard. After that aong, probably time for Love You Anyway, and then Bury Me In Georgia and Religiously.

While this push was a little underwhelming, it's probably the best UMG could do given how high it already it is in spins/audience. There's still a chance this can take the Billboard #1, but it's gonna be reallyyy close. I'm hoping it does

Nothing underwhelming about a natural-ish push to the top.

I actually don't mind this not hitting number one. just because after the last few years the meaning of a number one song has been so diluted when everyone eventually gets there after 40+ weeks. When even huge smashes like this have a chance of not hitting number one, it makes it feel like it's an actual hard thing to achieve.
Even if it's only a few big names getting these quick rises up to 1, I hope this starts happening for more and more artists.

Peaks at #2 on billboard as it is blocked by Fast Car. Lost the #1 spot by a little more than 200K. Very close and that makes this even more sad for me, lol. I hope this continues to receive recurrent airplay for months to come

Oh this should be a very slow faller despite the #2 peak, like what we are seeing with "Dancing In The Country".
Ugh, just needed one truly big update and I think it would have gotten the Billboard #1 as well. Still this songs success does speak for itself so I can't be too bitter and it did get blocked by a song that is at #2 right now on the Hot 100 so it doesn't sting quite as bad as it should.

I’m so upset, as this is one of my favorite songs ever. You are right. If he just had one update or less than 300K more it would have gotten the #1. I guess it just couldn’t get any higher. Tbh I would argue NTYK is one of the biggest hits in recent years (on a smaller scale compared to FC and LN), it just had the brutal luck of going up against also one of the biggest hits in years. I really hope this has like four months of a slow drop in the top ten, because it would really speak to how much it connected. UMG didn’t even want to release this and I hope this falling short doesn’t discourage them/Jordan to continue making songs like this

Kind of shocked that this missed #1 by such a small margin. Sony could’ve pulled back a little and let Jordan have his week, but I also realize that Fast Car has been rising organically and there probably wasn’t much the labels could’ve done in the end. This deserves at least a week at #1.
