Biggest DROP [tie]
The Weeknd Die For You
Avril Lavigne, Yungblud I'm a Mess
Falling off the Countdown:
Joji Die For You :'( Weeks On 4 | Peak 27
Observations:
After the purge last weekend on the countdown, there was only one departure and one debut this week.
The countdown decided to air the original version of Coi Leray's Players [the same version American Top 40 is using] as compared to the remix. The original contains the sample of Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five's 1982 single The Message and I think is the better of the two versions.
The host incorrectly stated that Sabrina Carpenter's Nonsense dropped one spot to number 18. Actually the reverse was true, the song climbed one spot to number 18.
Forget my comment about Avril Lavigne's I'm a Mess finally taking off. It and The Weeknd's Die For You were the biggest droppers of the week.
JVKE's Golden Hour returned to its peak position.
Tate McRae had the highest climbing song and the second highest climbing song this week.
After two weeks Meghan Trainor's Made You Look vacated the top spot.
And Miley Cyrus' Flowers is the new number one song.
