Hope Miley can reach 100k, that'd be good considering her previous openings.
Good debut for TWICE too.

Hoping Miley will trend upward. Definitely a massive improvement on her previous album and her biggest opening in almost 10 years, although not living up to the expectations that "Flowers" had imprinted onto the album.

I agree with the general sentiment, a little disappointing compared to how Flowers gave her a career repeak temporarily hit wise but still a good outcome compared to her career the past years prior.
One thing I do find interesting though is the fact the sales, streaming, and SPS is pretty similar to Selena’s last album Rare. As much as Selena gets overlooked on social media for not being a talent artist or a singer and as much as Miley is praised for being so talented it is honestly quite surprising they have similar album pull. You would think Miley’s album performance would be notably above hers.
My theory is I guess that being strongly attached to Disney has kinda hurt their ability to market albums permanently. People who were adults then will never take them truly serious and people who were kids then kind of see them as childhood artists.
No matter how many hits and coverage Miley/Selena/Demi have gotten over the years they have never seemed to truly sell on par with other superstar mainstream females and have a true breakout & re-introduction to the public like Ariana was able to from her Nickelodeon days.

Good numbers for Miley. I think a lot of people forgot that before it went super viral alongside Bzrp/Shakira, the first day number for Flowers are in the "great but not insane" level which should be the baseline for the expectation for the album. Also, go TWICE!
Morgan should be in the 230-250k range

You would think Miley’s album performance would be notably above hers. Is the data from an album released three years ago (Rare) comparable to that from an album just released this week? Given the constant drop in performance for most artists over time, this would mean Miley's stats are more impressive, no?

Reminder that in 2015, Miley surprised released Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (MC5) and did not chart at all at the Billboard 200... Her follow-ups Younger Now (2017) and Plastic Hearts (2020) did not hit #1 either despite decent-charting carrier singles. 100k+ is great for her, kudos.

Well, Dead Petz was free on her website so I’m not sure how it possibly could have charted anywhere.

This is really good for Miley, but it's pretty funny seeing all those people on Twitter who thought the album was gonna be huge because of Flowers. This is Miley's best debut since her peak period with Bangerz in 2013.

Man, usually I can see some sort of predictable pattern with an artist's numbers as time goes on, but Miley's career seems to be total RNG.

Decent numbers given the last two openings (though I remember PH numbers being skewed by a physicals mess up?).
I’m just not sure the general populace is really looking for a Miley Cyrus album, so there should never have been an expectation that the success of Flowers would translate into massive album sales.

The entire album pulling only ~40m more streams first week than Flowers did in its peak on Spotify is certainly strange.

Republic is tracking to have six titles in this week’s Top 10, with Morgan Wallen’s record-setting One Thing at a Time comfortably perched at #1. As streaming is making up the lion's share of its total, the album is likely to remain in six digits for months.
Meanwhile, JYP/Imperial/Republic’s TWICE will enjoy the top debut of the week with READY TO BE, which will land just north of 150k, and Miley Cyrus’ album Endless Summer Vacation (Columbia)—her first since 2020’s Plastic Hearts—is projecting nearly double the bow of her previous release.
Now, if you don’t mind, we're going to return to watching 24/7 STORMWATCH 2023 coverage on the local news channel. Here are the rules: Every time they say "atmospheric river," drink.

Tuesday, March 14, 2023 Republic is tracking to have six titles in this week’s Top 10, with Morgan Wallen’s record-setting One Thing at a Time comfortably perched at #1. As streaming is making up the lion's share of its total, the album is likely to remain in six digits for months.
Interesting to see this prediction! Rooting for Morgan to take #1 BB200 Artist and H100 Artist for 2023!

Karol G holding on strong, dropping only 10% from last week. Maybe we'll see a mini Un Verano Sin Ti if it continues holding on strong for the next few weeks.

I really am fascinated by Miley's performance. Flowers' success shocked the hell out of me, and knowing her previous albums' performance, this is overall good news despite not being hugely massive. I think if you'd predicted in December that her album would double the opening of Plastic Hearts, people would've thought you were reaching, so this is still quite good.

Kind of agree... however being outsold by TWICE in her own country and main market, feels like a little dissapointment.

I can see the disappointment from that view, but for me, Columbia did a good job with her more than RCA even did for "Plastic Hearts".
110k+ start on a new label(with potential to grow), is a real good look. If "River" does well, I can see it eventually reaching Platinum .She's definitely going Gold for sure.

If Miley released ESV in February, most weeks it would’ve been #1 - based on similar sales. OC the naysayers would be complaining that it should’ve been higher.
Gotta assume vinyls are the reason date wasn’t moved up to capitalize on Flowers’ unexpected explosion.
