I'll come out with you keeptheflowers. I unabashedly love me. I had been wanting this type of song both sonically & vocally from her for a long time, & it turned out to be everything I wanted & more. Maybe it shouldn't have been one of the first things we heard from the album, but it's definitely a highlight of chemistry for me. Mike she's never done me on tv before this! nightshade So I think they did end up filming the Whitney cover, but just didn't air it for some reason. Thinking this picture from the taping of the show it was supposed to air on is of it: Guessing she didn't like the way it came out or there was some kind of rights issue. I was super bummed it didn't air. Hope she eventually does it again!

I'm coming out as a "Me" stan and breaking my silence about this song. A good number of Kelly fans don't love this song (which is fine!) but it has always been one of the most puzzling things for me in the Chemistry era. The range (those low notes at the start!), power, conviction and soul she has whenever she sings Me has always been breathtaking for me. The song is melodically and production-wise my cup of tea as well. Probably within my top half/top five from the album. I can't remember - did she perform "me" during the "chemistry" rollout on TV (maybe the Today show?) or is this the first one? I love Me and it's definitely grown on me especially watching her perform it live. The lyrics throw a punch. I still don't think it should have been a single though. I wish Down to You or Magic was released with Mine.

Yea, Me never did it for me.
Great vocals apart, this song had no business being released as a lead single, especially since mine, while a great song, never felt like lead single material.
I wouldβve been okay with either me/mine if they really wanted to go with the dual release but only if they released down to you/magic alongside.
Tbh, they shouldβve just released down to you with a video as a lead.

She opened the show saying allergies got the best of her, so they pulled this one out of the vault (it was scheduled a few months back IIRC).
It also looks like next Thursday (where they had listed BTHE again) is now "Get Yourself Another Fool." Bummer, I was really looking forward to an HD 2024 BTHE vocal. Hopefully it gets tacked back on in the coming weeks!

I like James Arthur, so Iβm excited. But sure, letβs release a song on the biggest album bomb day of the year.

So funny! Jason forgot the name of greatest hits even though he produced Catch My Breath on it! Hahaha!

But also, why did Jason name that album first out of ALL of her albums? Is it a hint??

I think it was him getting it out of the way so it wasn't forgotten. I hope they do more of these videos with the band. Also that's a fun game.

I find it pretty remarkable in a time of such incredible division that she took such a firm, powerful, and vulnerable stance on abortion, on her show, with Hillary Clinton. I think she's smart to mostly carve politics out of her show, but I'm also glad she remains authentic to issues that matter to her.

This is the exact thing she SHOULD be talking about. To me, this isnβt even political: this is life saving healthcare and she really put it out there in that way.
Iβm so proud of her.

I still think "i won't give up" would be a great Olympics theme. Why she insists on doing "Invincible" is beyond me. Even "Stronger" would make more sense I guess but you'd think she'd rather give her Atlantic stuff the attention than her decade-old RCA material.

As a man/boy, this one line in "Invincible" has always bothered me:
"No, I ain't a scared little girl no more"
It could have easily been changed to "little kid" and not made me feel awkward singing it... haha

PLZZZZZZZZ let them go back to the early releases. I need this serotonin in the AM! I'm sure this is probably just a special occasion for Olympics promo, but a boy can dream. Crazy hearing her belt that note better than the recording from a decade ago lol. And then going for the G5 belt? C'mon now.

^ Made even crazier by the fact that it sounds like she has a bit of a cold / allergies-- in her lower register and when she speaks at the end. Just unstoppable vocals this year.

Next week! "Get Yourself Another Fool" is listed as tomorrow's song, so we'll have to wait and see what it's swapped for and on which date... hopefully we'll be getting that BTHE performance or the elusive "I Have Nothing" if she happened to tape that in the last week or two.
Monday: "Why Don't We Just Dance" Tuesday: "It Was Almost a Song" Wednesday: "Can't Catch Me Now" Thursday: "Get Yourself Another Fool" Friday: "The Heart of the Matter"

If I'm reading Zap2It correctly, it appears that next Wednesday is going to be a Songs & Stories episode with Heart!!! This has me incredibly excited for the 3 part harmonies :)

I've been wanting this covered since the Stronger tour.
