It’s getting close to the Summer of 2023, and around this time the music scene/pop culture of a decade usually starts to transition into the true sound that defines a decade. The same thing happened with the 2010s, with 2013/14 beginning the transition from the club boom/pop dominance that was 2010-2013 to the dark trap scene that dominated the last 4 years of the decade. Same happened with the 2000s, 90s, 80s and etc.
Since we’re 30% into decade, when do you think this transition will finally start and what could be the true sound that defines the 2020s?

"Driver's License" definitely feels like the turning point. That doesn't always quite mean it's the most influential by any means.

I think Boys a Liar is a song that feels 100% 2020s.
