^That would be most excellent. Is Crucial Charts related to Talk of the Charts or is it a "competitor"? They used to do Canadian Hot 100 predictions, but they announced they would switch to Billboard Hot 100 about a week ago.

Pop icon Cher breaks UK Official Chart records today with DJ Play a Christmas Song.
Cher becomes the first female artist to achieve a Top 40 hit with new material on the Official Singles Chart across seven consecutive decades. While Cher's UK chart debut originally came in the form of Sonny & Cher’s chart-topping duet I Got You Babe in 1965, her debut solo single All I Really Want To Do broke the UK Top 40 the same month, and Cher has gone on to chart a solo single of new material in the Top 40 in every decade since.
At 77 years, 7 months old, Cher also becomes the oldest solo female performer to secure a Top 40 on the Official Singles Chart with the lead single from her 27th studio album Christmas. DJ Play a Christmas Song breaks all the way in to the Top 20 at Number 20 this week.
This means Cher surpasses previous record-holder Shirley Bassey, the Welsh singer-songwriter being 70 years, 4 months old when The Living Tree peaked at Number 37 in 2007.
Captain Sir Tom Moore holds the record for the oldest artist to score a UK Number 1 single, being 99 years, 11 months old when Michael Ball collaboration You’ll Never Walk Alone reached Number 1 in 2020.
DJ Play a Christmas Song also becomes Cher's highest-charting single in the UK in over two decades, to boot. Her last to achieve Top 20 success was The Music's No Good Without You, which peaked at Number 8 in 2001.
Cher also becomes the first-ever female artist to secure UK Top 40 singles spanning seven decades with original material.
Since the release of Sonny & Cher's chart-topping I Got You Babe in 1965, Cher's scored at least one Top 40 hit in each decade since.
The decade in which Cher notched-up the most UK Top 40 singles was the 1990s, with the icon amassing a staggering 23 over a 10-year period.
This, of course, includes what was arguably her career renaissance with 1998 Number 1 record Believe, which celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this year.

MORE: WHAM!'s Andrew Ridgeley celebrates Official Christmas Number 1 single 2023 with Last Christmas
Speaking on Cher's success, Martin Talbot, Chief Executive Officer, Official Charts, says:
"Cher cements her position as a living legend this week, notching up two incredible landmarks - becoming the oldest living female to secure a Top 40 single and the only female solo artist to claim an Official Top 40 single in seven consecutive decades.
"It is incredible to consider that WHAM!’s Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael were barely taking their first steps when Cher was enjoying her first UK Number 1; almost 20 years before Last Christmas was released. Cher, we salute you!"

Here is a dumb question. All through the Christmas season DJ Play a Christmas Song has not been listed in the Christmas songs lists. It has been on the "Other" lists with regular Pop songs. why? Just wondering why, it was not treated like the hundreds of Christmas songs and not on those lists. I would have just assumed DJ would have been on the Christmas lists of songs and not on the Pop lists with the non-Christmas songs.

DJ holds at 40 on Billboard's Pop Airplay chart.
Though dipping a spot to No. 62 on U.S. Spotify, DJ comfortably cracked 1 million streams (around 1.076 million).

This will be the final update, as I presume it will fall off the charts quickly tomorrow given stations have stopped playing Christmas music now. It's incredible that Cher was able to score another top 40 hit at 77, and I hope the song has longevity for years to come! :)

A local AC station is still playing holiday music, though ones that continue playing it would be the exception. An alternate version, "DJ Play an Easter Song," could keep the party going. (Sometimes I substitute Easter for Christmas when I hear Christmas songs; Easter being two syllables makes it seamless. hehe)

Debuts at No. 94 on the Hot 100: www.billboard.com/lists/meghan-trainor-cher-chloe-hot-100-new-holiday-hits/chers-christmas-song/Cher’s ‘Christmas Song’Cher returns to the Hot 100 for the first time since 2002, as “DJ Play a Christmas Song” debuts at No. 94. The song drew 5.5 million in airplay audience and 5 million streams (up 33%) and sold 4,000 downloads (up 49%) from Dec. 15-21. Helping the track’s profile, Kelly Clarkson sang the song in the Dec. 19 Kellyoke segment on her namesake talk show. “I am out of my mind over your version,” Cher praised Clarkson in response. Cher adds her 34th solo Hot 100 hit and first since “Song for the Lonely” in May 2002. Two entries before that, her smash “Believe” spent four weeks at No. 1 in 1999, the most among her four leaders. She first reached the chart in July 1965 with the Bob Dylan-penned “All I Really Want To Do,” which went on to hit No. 15. A week after that single debuted, Sonny & Cher arrived with their first entry, “I Got You Babe,” a three-week No. 1 classic that August. The duo charted 18 hits through 1973. “Christmas Song” spends a fourth week at No. 1 on Adult Contemporary. It has also topped the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales and Holiday Digital Song Sales charts, as Cher has now claimed visits to No. 1 on Billboard song surveys in every decade since the 1960s, including her run in Sonny & Cher. The song is from Cher’s first holiday LP, Christmas, which debuted in at No. 1 on the Top Holiday Albums chart in November.

Cher's DJ Play a Christmas Song entering the Billboard Hot 100 is a phenomenal accomplishment! Cher is 77 and entered the Billboard Hot 100 with a SOLO and NEW song. Many do not understand how amazing THAT is!
Cher first entered the Billboard Charts in December 1964. That was Baby Don't Go on the Billboard Bubbling Under Chart, in Dec 1964 so 59 Years ago!
Cher entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in July 1965 for her solo song All I Really Want to Do. Cher also entered the Billboard Hot 100 with Sonny & Cher in July 1965 with I Got You Babe.
So, 59 years on the Billboard Bubbling Under/Hot 100, or 58 years, 5 months not counting her first song which was only on the Bubbling Under chart in 1964.
She has been ON the Billboard Bubbling Under or Hot 100 Charts now in 7 decades. the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10's and now 20s.

Can't believe it was 10 years ago that she put out "Closer To The Truth" and CHR completely ignored it. Then again CHR was in a much more healthy place than it is now.

We have a CHR radio station in the car and were surprised to still hear Cher's DJ Playa Christmas Song on CHR Radio this morning. By the way, this station never really played Christmas songs. Cher's song was one of the only ones I ever heard on it. Today her song was preceded by Olivia Rodrigo's Get Him Bak and followed by Billie Eilish's Why Was I Made For? It was just odd to still hear it at all, after Christmas.

Hot 100 predictions have not yet been posted, though I imagine DJ will advance. if it gets past the No. 85 peak of "Song For the Lonely," it would be her highest peak since 1999 ("Strong Enough" hit 57). A peak in the 70s would be nice.
EDIT: Talk of the Charts projects DJ to come in at No. 87.
