Falling Off The Countdown:
Jonas Brothers Summer Baby Weeks On 17 | Peak 5
Luke Combs Fast Car Weeks On 15 | Peak 13
Crash Adams Give Me A Kiss Weeks On 22 | Three Weeks at #1
Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake Keep Going Up Weeks On 4 | Peak 26
Observations:
In a weekend where the pop version of American Top 40 had two debuts and the hot ac version had just one, this countdown beat them both with four debuts amid some shocking departures.
In the previous weeks I have grown frustrated by the indifference legacy artist Kylie Minogue's come back single has been met with on the pop and hot ac charts. While in contrast Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake's single has been better received. Well on this week's countdown one single sprung to life while the other fell off. [WOW!!]
As for the other departures- last weekend's largest dropper was the first casualty this weekend.
Luke Combs' Fast Car fell off the survey again.
The Jonas Brothers' Summer Baby performed much better on this countdown than on the pop chart.
What happened to Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake?! I thought they were supposed to keep going up? [Sorry, couldn't resist.]
Usher, one of the top artists of the 2000s returned with a new single as did *NYSNC.
SZA's Snooze returned to its peak position.
And Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer vacated the top spot once again. Miley Cyrus' Used To Be Young is the new number one song.
