I think this is more in the lines of ABBA’s long awaited comeback than Rolling Stones’ latest album after not such a long absence. Quite intrigued about this

I’m just talking about absence of new music, not a new recording with John Lennon’s vocals coming from an ouija session lol. Rolling Stones have not been inactive in the past 20 years. The last Beatles’ “new” songs we’ve heard are probably Free as a Bird and Real Love, almost 30 years ago. I liked the latter. Hope this turned out ok.

Just a Notion, one of the singles from ABBA's Voyage, also has lead vocals that were taken from a tape from 1978. I think the comparison to that song and this Beatles song is fair.

Some odd choices so far:
1. That lackluster single cover that I recently discovered was by Ed Ruscha - Yikes that's embarrassing
2. Releasing on Thursday morning instead of Friday. If they wanted UK midnight Friday, but it's not even that
3. An iHeart radio deal for Thursday
I'd imagine Thursday will be the biggest streaming day, so just odd that they wouldn't use a full tracking week. Maybe I'm missing something

This is going to have a huge debut at AAA tomorrow. Some stations have already spun this multiple times since the song's release as of this post.

SiriusXM stations that have played this song today so far per xmplaylist: - 70s on 7 - The Blend - The Bridge - The Beatles Channel - Underground Garage - Classic Rewind - Classic Vinyl - Deep Tracks - The Spectrum - Tom Petty Radio - 60s Gold - Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - Little Steven's Coolest Songs in the World
Good mix of rock, adult alternative, classics, and AC leaning stations there. No plays yet on Sirius Hits 1, Mosiac, XMU, or some of the other artists stations that play other music aside from that specific artist and could conceivably play this (DMB, Billy Joel, Kenny Chesney).

It should chart on CHR then, right?

It's quite a lovely song. Not top-tier Beatles to me, but very nice melody and harmony. Great contrast in the voices.

How did this not make the CHR top 50 when every station played this at 10am yesterday? So basically it got 175 spins?

Manages to stave off Jook Kook's stuff on iTunes. Debuts at #66 on Apple Music.
