I’m happy to see this going back to radio again however I like the original better.

I’m happy to see this going back to radio again however I like the original better. Your wish is my command. Chart-wise, Pickup Man is Joe Diffie's biggest hit. I was not impressed with the Diffie mashup at last night's awards show between Post Malone, Hardy, and Morgan Wallen. Of course, Malone will get a big country hit here because of his association with Hardy and Wallen. Here is a chart and video of the original Pickup Man. Ready? BILLBOARD TOP TEN FOR WEEK ENDING DECEMBER 17, 1994: 1. PICKUP MAN-JOE DIFFIE-EPIC 2. Take Me As I Am-Faith Hill-Warner Bros. 3. When Love Finds You-Vince Gill-MCA 4. Untanglin' My Mind-Clint Black-RCA 5. The Big One-George Strait-MCA 6. Now I Know-Lari White-RCA 7. When The Thought Of You Catches Up With Me-David Ball-Warner Bros. 8. If You've Got Love-John Michael Montgomery-Atlantic 9. Not A Moment Too Soon-Tim McGraw-Curb 10. We Can't Love Like This Anymore-Alabama-RCA

Post sounds really good. Shania is a big fan; I'd love to see him collaborate with her or others (Taylor!)...

I think Post sounds pretty good on this honestly. Would have preferred something original for his first foray into country music, but this could at least generate some buzz. He’s always had a couple songs that I think were close in sound and show what a country Post Malone song might sound like, specifically “Stay” and “Lemon Tree”.

Mediabase is crediting this HIXTAPE & Joe Diffie (feat. Post Malone).

Interesting. Billboard is crediting it as Joe Diffie featuring Post Malone. It debuts at #54 this week.

This is fine, but everything about it just feels... totally unnecessary, lol. Let Diffie RIP and Posty could've/should've just dropped a solo original as a foray into country music if he really wanted to dabble in the genre.

All these old songs getting re-released reminds me of the bro-country era. It will fade off eventually but for now this is the trend.

I can’t see this turning into an actual hit, but I could definitely be wrong.

Interesting. Billboard is crediting it as Joe Diffie featuring Post Malone. It debuts at #54 this week. That's definitely who is singing the song, but technically this is a HIXTAPE song, which is Hardy's own brand of features. Pretty sure the MB site just copies the coding from the songs as the credits on their site.

This song is fine, and I am interested in what Post Malone is bringing to country genre, but I would rather want an original song released by Post Malone as a solo artist. This might have some buzz at the beginning, but I can see it stalling before the spring comes.

Moves 54-48*. Joe Diffie hasn’t charted this high since 2004’s “Tougher Than Nails”.

Post Malone is somebody who has a genuine flair for country, even though you would never expect it looking at his usual output. My best friend has been obsessed with this performance for a couple years now, so I have heard it so many times, and never fail to be impressed:
No doubt I'd be rolling my eyes a LOT harder about this release if it weren't for that video, but tbh I'm a little bit excited to see what country potential Postie might have up his sleeve!

Went recurrent on Billboard this week and looks to be done after dying out in the 40s on Billboard. Glad this is done as it was just a pure cover song and was taking up chart space imo.
