Pretty self-explanatory, what were the years where different genres in popular music hit their peak in popularity? I'll leave some examples to start: Disco: 1977 New Wave: 1983 Hair Metal: 1988 Grunge: 1993 Teen Pop: 1999 Club Pop: 2010 Trap: 2018 Of course, these are all my opinion, and you could make an argument for other years being these genres' peaks. That's what this thread is for, after all. So, without further ado, let's get this thread a rollin'.

I’d say disco’s peak year was 1978, as while it was popular for several years before that’s when Saturday Night Fever made it into a truly ubiquitous phenomenon. On the charts it was probably most dominant in the first half of 1979, but crashed hard later that year so I wouldn’t say 1979 overall.
