Semi-open deadlineSo I know of several people still planning to send so I'm going to leave this open until they send, probably in the next day or so. I want to say I know around 8-10 people or so planning to send? If you haven't let me know you want to send, I'd like to ask that you at least let me know by tonight (next 12 hours) and then I'd be willing to wait for your list. Thank you to Trilogy, Carno, Fearless, and Leo for sending!

Billboard Extras
I figured I would post a set of Billboard extras while we wait. These will be posted in order up until #101.
flipturn - Playground Chart Pos: #144 | Weeks: 1 | Peak: 38
flipturn is pretty cool! Would've been interesting to rank them.
Genesis Owusu - Get Inspired Chart Pos: #143 | Weeks: 1 | Peak: 38
Cool to see an artist like Genesis on AAA format, hopefully that means good things for the future.
The Hold Steady - Sideways Skull Chart Pos: #142 | Weeks: 1 | Peak: 38
Danielle Ponder - Roll the Credits Chart Pos: #141 | Weeks: 1 | Peak: 40
Myron Elkins - Hands to Myself Chart Pos: #140 | Weeks: 1 | Peak: 37
LCD Soundsystem - New Body Rhumba Chart Pos: #139 | Weeks: 2 | Peak: 38
This would be such a cool addition to the list. Great song.
Jack Johnson - Don't Look Now Chart Pos: #138 | Weeks: 2 | Peak: 36

As with Active Rock, I will be posting the new and active extras here as well. Y'all should know by now how behind I am regarding Mediabase year-end, so, why am I doing this here as well? Well, I haven't even started working on finalizing the spin counts on the songs listed below. So I will be posting them in batches of 15, and edit the spin counts after I finish calculating them. The threshold will be finalized later, as there are more songs than usual due to the new stations added in Mediabase in April boosting several songs. If we wait until I finish finalizing the spin counts, we would be here until May or something. So, without ado for the first batch.... - "Sail Away" and "New Gold" were already ranked at Alt.
- Something, something, Austin City Limits Radio.... (re: "Anti-Hero")
- "Eyes Closed", "Flowers" and "I Ain't Worried" were also boosted by the Triple ACs
- "Nothing Left to Lose" would have gotten in the top 50 if the panel change occurred earlier. Taken from EBTG's first album in over two decades.
- Momma continue to struggle to make the top 50, though they were a bit closer this time.
- "Dripfield" was the follow-up to "Hungersite", but was actually released earlier.
- "Buy You a New Attitude" was taken from Tianna Esperanza's debut album
- "Take It Away" is L.A.B.'s second NAA extra
- "Radio" was supposedly the 2nd single from Margo Price's 2023 album, backed by the non-comms
- This is the first Greta Van Fleet era to not have a top 50 AAA peak
- Jess Williamson is one half of the Plains extra that will show up later (the other being Waxahatchee). If you miss country era Taylor Swift, you'll like this one, it's a nice tune. (her voice reminds me a bit like hers)
- Like "Radio", I don't think "Apple Tree Blues" was an official single

- While M. Ward made Billboard during his last era, he fails to do so this era. This song was closer to making the Mediabase top 50 than "Unreal City", though.
- "Out of My Mind" and possibly "Chemical" would have made the top 50 if it wasn't for the panel changes
- "Summer of Luv" performed significantly worse than "DUMMY" despite the inclusion of UMO whom some non-comms played their newer songs
- "Fallen Snow" was a Sirius Spectrum thing
- The Japanese House would eventually make the top 50 with the follow-up "Sunshine Baby"
- "The Trench Coat Museum" was recently bolded on Rate Your Music; I believe stations played the song without the instrumental 5-minute or so outro. Like the Japanese House, they would eventually make the top 50 with a newer song.
- "Burlesque Desert Window" did better than the previous single by this artist if I recall
- We will see Rainbow Kitten Surprise again in the 2024 RDs
- "Pilgrim" performed much better on the indicator panel
- Sid Sriram's latest album is his first for Def Jam Records, and he has also toured with Bon Iver.
- "Better Angels" was also mostly a Spectrum thing
- Slowdive were sooooo close to getting their first radio charter with this song of theirs.
- From one RYM-core artist to another, "Welcome to My Island" may have done better if the panel changes occurred earlier as well
- "Underground" performed worse than City and Colour's past promoted singles to AAA

I've decided that the threshold for NAA extras this year will be 600 spins. Even then, we'll still have a lot of songs here - last year, we had 95 or so such extras, this year we will have like over 100! The threshold will be adjusted again next year as the panel changes and possibly more stations get added, but for now, 600 seems right. Will try to finish posting these before the rankdown ends.
- Caroline Rose was able to chart in 2020, and with indie being more accepted here now, what the hell happened to this song not even going top 50?
- Shires just got divorced from Jason Isbell, sadly. This is the title track and second single from this album.
- Chiiild is also a fellow Def Jam signee
- "Music for a Sushi Restaurant" made the year-end Mainstream Top 40 list
- "Really Really Light" was a massive flop for the New Pornos, and the second single somehow did even worse by not even charting.
- "Emotion Sickness" and "Positive Charge" were also extras in some form for Alt and Active
- Sir Chloe had an MB extra in 2021 Alt
- SUSTO has yet to claim the elusive Billboard charter after recently being an MB NAA extra in 2021
- "EDGING" was ranked on Alt and Active, and judging by the performances there, not many will be shedding tears for it missing here
- "Dawns" was also an ACL thing
- Little Simz is both a RYM and Pulse favorite; wonder if this would have charted if the panel changes occurred earlier.
- "Feel It All the Time" was the supposed 2nd single from this Soccer Mommy album
- The Tallest Man on Earth has had an acclaimed career in the songwriter/folk scene
- As with on Alt, "Wagging Tongue" failed to replicate the success of "Ghosts Again"

Questionnaire!Going to say this is officially closed! Hoping to begin sometime today, just gotta get things ready to go. In the meantime, here are some questions you can answer while waiting: 1. Which song do you think will win? Which songs will make the top 10?2. Which song will be #100? Which songs will make up the bottom 10?3. Which songs will be the most divisive (highest SD)? How about least divisive?4. Which song from the year end top 10 will go the furthest? Which will be the first one out? These are the songs:
Not Strong Enough, Kid, Eat Your Young, Psychos, Go Down River, Tropic Morning News, Ghosts Again, Pepper, Francesca, and Dial Drunk 5. Plenty of artists have multiple appearances on this list. Which of their songs will be highest?Arlo Parks: Devotion/Weightless Beck: Odyssey/Thinking About You Dave Matthews Band: Madman's Eyes/Monsters Hozier: Eat Your Young/Francesca Inhaler: Just to Keep You Satisfied/Love Will Get You There/These Are the Days Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit: Death Wish/When We Were Close Local Natives: Just Before the Morning/NYE Michigander: Stay Out of It/Superglue Mitski: Bug Like an Angel/Should've Been Me Noah Kahan: Dial Drunk/Homesick/Stick Season/We're All Gonna Die Phoenix: Odyssey/Tonight The National: The Alcott/Tropic Morning News/Weird Goodbyes Thee Sacred Souls: Love is the Way/Running Away Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Burning/Wolf 6. Any other predictions?

1. Which song do you think will win? Which songs will make the top 10? I don't feel like going back and analyzing the overlap in participants between Alt and AAA so these predictions won't be overly ""educated"" / in-depth but I'll just say This Is Why wins again with Not Strong Enough closer behind than in Alt. A few of the other carryovers that were top 10 there should repeat, and Bad Habit, Nothing Matters, Spit of You and White Horse are candidates too.
2. Which song will be #100? Which songs will make up the bottom 10? Just going to guess a couple AAA exclusives: I thought Big Big Love was bad even for Michael Franti & Spearhead, I feel like they're a safe bet for last place. Daylight should be down there too. The Ben Folds song was unexpected in a bad way, so a bottom 10 appearance for him wouldn't shock me.
3. Which songs will be the most divisive (highest SD)? How about least divisive? I know this is totally a cop-out answer but I think the most and least divisive songs in Alt will have similar SDs, but the more forgettable AAA songs will also be low
4. Which song from the year end top 10 will go the furthest? Which will be the first one out? These are the songs: Not Strong Enough (highest), Kid (lowest), Eat Your Young, Psychos, Go Down River, Tropic Morning News, Ghosts Again, Pepper, Francesca, and Dial Drunk
5. Plenty of artists have multiple appearances on this list. Which of their songs will be highest? Arlo Parks: Devotion/Weightless Beck: Odyssey/Thinking About You Dave Matthews Band: Madman's Eyes/Monsters Hozier: Eat Your Young/Francesca Inhaler: Just to Keep You Satisfied/Love Will Get You There/These Are the Days Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit: Death Wish/When We Were Close Local Natives: Just Before the Morning/NYE Michigander: Stay Out of It/Superglue Mitski: Bug Like an Angel/Should've Been Me Noah Kahan: Dial Drunk/Homesick/Stick Season/We're All Gonna Die Phoenix: Odyssey/Tonight The National: The Alcott/Tropic Morning News/Weird Goodbyes Thee Sacred Souls: Love is the Way/Running Away Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Burning/Wolf
6. Any other predictions? These aren't predictions but I will say almost half of my top 10 were discoveries or rediscoveries (4), maybe the most I've had in my top 10 apart from the 90s retro rankdowns. Also, since I thought this was a pretty good year, nearly all of the songs that were in Alt ended up getting pushed down my list by AAA discoveries.

1. Which song do you think will win? Which songs will make the top 10? -As much as I would like for the #1 to be a relative underdog like Thee Sacred Souls or Jason Isbell, it'll probably be something like Paramore or boygenius. Other Top 10 guesses: "Tonight," "The Narcissist," "Ghosts Again," "Say Yes to Heaven," "Bad Habit," "White Horse," "Road to Joy," "Spit of You"
2. Which song will be #100? Which songs will make up the bottom 10? -"Big Big Love" is pretty awful, and from looking at previous AAA rankdowns, Michael Franti seems to do horribly every time. "Daylight" is also pretty widely hated, though. One of those two. Other Bottom 10 guesses: "Snap," "Run Away to Mars," "Dummy," "Exhausting Lover," "Kid"
3. Which songs will be the most divisive (highest SD)? How about least divisive? -Nothing here seems incredibly divisive... maybe something by Noah Kahan, or something relatively more "experimental" like "Pirate Radio," "Hungersite," or "Madman's Eyes."
4. Which song from the year end top 10 will go the furthest? Which will be the first one out? These are the songs: Not Strong Enough, Kid, Eat Your Young, Psychos, Go Down River, Tropic Morning News, Ghosts Again, Pepper, Francesca, and Dial Drunk
5. Plenty of artists have multiple appearances on this list. Which of their songs will be highest? Next set of NAA extras!
- "Amnesia" was also an MB Top 50 extra for Alt
- "Joiner" was the lead AAA single for Blondshell's self-titled album, before "Salad" took off
- We last ranked Rayland Baxter in 2018 AAA
- "Oceans of Emotions" had a lack of Billboard-only spins at the time it was charting, so it's not too surprising the follow-up missed after the new stations were added (though I believe this had more BB-only support)
- "Oceans of Darkness" (not to be confused with "Oceans of Emotions") was originally a demo from I Don't Live Here Anymore
- The Pretenders signed a major label deal again and somehow flopped
- ZZ Ward hasn't had a song in a rankdown aside from the singles from her first two albums
- In an interesting twist, "The Game" was pushed after the semi-success of "The Drop"; this was the first single for Alt instead
- Nickel Creek was recently nominated for a Grammy for the album "Strangers" was on; we have ranked the band previously too.
- "Sweet Symphony" was a promo single prior to Oladokun getting a Triple A radio hit
- We could have had a third Thee Sacred Souls song on this list; unlike the other two, this was from their debut album
- "See It Through" was taken from Durand Jones' recent solo album; the first single is a Billboard extra we'll see later
- Nation of Language was quite close to being a NAA extra in 2022 I believe; depending on my calculations later, we could have one more song coming up (though I think this is a bit unlikely)
- "Good Morning Coffee" is a Greg Brown cover from the Avett Brothers member
- Geese finally had their time to shine this year with 3D Country garnering a lot of coverage; they have one more song coming up here.

One of the dumbest hits of 2023 tbh... It does fit this format fine enough but I would've been happy if it wasn't here. 99

I felt bad putting this at #98 because I don't think this is bad – just kinda boring. Honestly just disliked the Michael Franti song, and while the Benson Boone (I don't remember his actual name and not clicking a new tab for it) wasn't good, I didn't hate it.

Damn 3 for 3 perfect rankings.
Honestly, I don't even really hate any of these songs in my bottom 3. Even for Franti, this isn't like, his WORST song by any means, I kinda like the beat almost. Just a very strong list, so I guess the three most un-good songs would be my bottom 3
