It's not necessarily slowing down, but it's currently behind compared to Shy Away's numbers after 3 days. Might be a difficult climb to #1, especially because it's not very radio friendly and more catered to their own fanbase.

Coupled with the fact that there is SO much more competition this month vs. When both Jumpsuit and Shy Away came out.

The fact that Shy Away was #10 on day 4 and Overcompensate is #12 on day 4 is a really good sign. Even if the bullet isn’t as big, these guys still seem to defy expectations with me.

The fact this is the most spun song on XTRA right now makes me a happy person.
Love being a TOP fan, Imagine Dragons and AJR fans aren't eating well at 91X ATM but I'm happy TOP is the exception

Realistically this isn’t performing too much differently than “Shy Away”. I’ll predict it’ll hit #1 by the end of March. People online seem to enjoy it, even needledrop didn’t hate it lol and Brad Taste loved it

This song is not being promoted to CHR/POP radio? Then why are some CHR/POP playing this song?

With this song and as well as the new singles from Cage the Elephant, Black Keys, and Linkin Park all in the running for the #1 spot, it feels like it's gonna be a bloodbath for that spot right now.

This song is not being promoted to CHR/POP radio? Then why are some CHR/POP playing this song? Sometimes music directors in a format will add a song by their own choosing, even if it wasn't serviced to that format. Also TOP is a big name in the alt ranks, and from last album cycle, "Saturday" did chart (albeit a way more pop friendly song). Peaked at #24 on Pop and #9 on Hot AC (the latter having a full 20 week run). If this makes a move at all on pop radio, it will be interesting to see how it performs compared to "My Blood" (given the return to the Trench sound). That song only peaked at #34 for 15 weeks. EDIT: I know this isn't the pop forum here, but I just thought I'd take the time to clear that up.

"All Stressed Out" "Ride" and "Heathens" were all top 10 hits on CHR/POP radio. "ALL Stressed Out" & "Ride" both hit number 1 at pop radio, so it seem CRAZY that this song is not being pushed to POP radio too.

This is great and I'm kind of obsessed with it. Really looking forward to the album, hope it's better than Scaled And Icy.

I think that the intro should be cut out completely for radio IMO, especially if it does eventually get serviced to pop, I could see this being their highest peak since 2016.

I enjoy it. I figured out what parts of it reminds me of - Fergie's "London Bridge" - there is some identical delivery at some parts

This will definitely climb its way to the top 3 on Alt, but anything higher than that will depend entirely on whether or not they'll send their next single to radio as well.

Top 50 on Active: 54 50 TWENTY ONE PILOTS Overcompensate 51 46 5 0.05 Ummmmmmm… what’s this doing here? This does not belong here. I thought active radio was done with TOP after the 2010s. I’ve seen more out of place songs than this chart, but still. I think this kinda shows a problem that’s kinda been quietly impacting this year in active, & that’s a lack of big singles. Excluding Pearl Jam (and maybe Crack Cocaine) & a few household name follow-ups, the lack of powerful singles is starting to show, as songs like this are sneaking into the top 50 when they might not if more big names release.

Elektra making their blitz for #1 this week Would this be in reference to other artists or is this a vague illusion to something new from 21p?

I did NOT expect this. Pleasant surprise, though. They're coming off six-consecutive #1s, why would you be surprised? And it's not as polarizing like "Good People" or "Your Side of Town". Anyway, this missed the Billboard #1 this week as "Dilemma" finally took it. This will probably get the Billboard #1 next week if that song and "Neon Pill" continue losing spins and this holds well enough.

I assumed this would do the same thing as sonically they’re fairly similar.. in fact, I’d consider HDS to be more “heavy” than this, too. I thought we’d see a #2 peak

Dope to see this hit #1 for a single that wasn't the radio single. I wonder why they haven't sent one yet.

My guess is because radio picked this up (and the label helpfully packaged a shortened edit with the promo single release), FBR is refraining from pushing a proper radio single until "Overcompensate" runs its course, which it looks like it will now that it got the #1. Shades of Trench and "Jumpsuit", which wasn't meant to be a radio single either but it got treated as one.

This was always clearly the radio single, but for some reason multiple here thought otherwise despite it getting pushed like it was the real lead.
