Hoping to get this thread started for songs from the past that (1) deserve (2) you want - to experience resurgence on todays’s charts.

sheerio I've just moved this thread from ' CHR/POP' to ' Your Opinion Please' where these kind of discussions belong and thrive 🙏😊

In the same way it made my year when 'Murder On The Dancefloor' got discovered by US audiences at long last, it would ABSOLUTELY make my year if some Aussie pop somehow hit the US radar. Like... give Samantha Jade her American flowers at long last. Make Jess Mauboy an international breakout. I'd even take the recently-independent Ricki-Lee making indie nightcrawler status.
But I think in the vein of Aussie pop being 'discovered' outside Australia it would really excite me for something like Kylie's 'Confide In Me' or Candice Alley's 'Falling' to get a moment in the US.

I'd be here for The Veronicas to finally get a bonafide smash hit. Her earlier projects were absolute fire and banger after banger.
I'm really sad stuff like "Hard Times" by Paramore got no respect back in the day.
I feel like a lot of songs from Britney's In The Zone could also be hits today.

I wish one of the singles from 4, particularly "Countdown" or "Party" would get the moment they deserved back then.

i would say Tears For Fears with Everybody Wants To Rule The World. song was a #1 back in 1985 and has had good streaming numbers in recent years . it is such a catchy upbeat anthem that is so easy to sing along with . wish it can get that extra exposure somewhere for it to chart again.

I'd be here for The Veronicas to finally get a bonafide smash hit. Her earlier projects were absolute fire and banger after banger. "Her"? I know they're identical twins, but it is still two people. 😂 Literally any track from Hook Me Up I'd be thrilled to see get a resurgence, but, other than the obvious "Untouched," I'd love to see "Hook Me Up," "This Is How It Feels," or "I Can't Stay Away" specifically get a moment. Add onto them, Aly & AJ need one of their indie pop tracks to take off. The little mini viral moment for "Potential Breakup Song" was awesome, but we can do better than that. "Joan of Arc" for the next "Cruel Summer" plz & ty.

Would be cool to see the original "Fast Car" make a chart appearance.
Or with Alternative music making a slight comeback with LANY, Knox, and Boys Like Girls, maybe some sort of Pop Punk song from the mid or late '00s could make another chart appearance.
Or for a real shakeup would be for some sort of Soft Rock song to make an appearance. Someone like Air Supply, Chicago, Christopher Cross, Michael Bolton, or Richard Marx. That would really surprise people, but doubt it could even happen.

Should've been a smash at the time, but apparently people preferred Lil Pump and 6ix9ine.
