Curious that there's only one OTV, but at least that and the two breakouts make sense!
Happy for Jennifer and Sophie (who we were told would be getting 'purged' instead of debuting lol~)

While it's finally moving down the chart by multiple places per week, I still say "Calm Down" has a >95% chance of breaking the 72 weeks in the Top 40 record held by Taio Cruz's "Dynamite".

They, finally, pulled the plug on "One Of YOUR Girls". And replaced it with "One Of THE Girls".

Wouldn't this be Jack Harlow's first #1? I thought First Class peaked at #2. Unless you're counting Industry Baby with Lil Nas X which did go #1.

Did 'First Class' only make it to #2 on AT40? Because it was definitely a one-week #1 on the Mediabase chart.

I just looked back through Mitch's threads for the old charts. Both 'First Class' and 'Industry Baby' spent time at #1 on the AT40 countdown. This is Jack's 3rd #1.

Jennifer Lopez ft Maluma - Marry Me, had a breakout/on the verge 2 years ago, but didn't chart top 40, for CHR/Pop. Jennifer Lopez - On My Way charted top 30 but only in HAC 2 years ago.

Greedy by Tate McRae has to have the all time American Top 40 record of starting the most consecutive weeks to start a calendar year on the countdown at #1 at 7 weeks. Recent memory would have assumed that ‘closer’ by the Chainsmokers featuring Halsey would have done it 7 or so years back but it had a break between their non consecutive weeks at #1. Does ‘Greedy’ claim the all time record in most consecutive weeks at #1 from the start of any calendar year?

The last one to do that was probably 11 years ago when "Locked Out Of Heaven" went on for five weeks to start a calendar year on the countdown.

The last one that did so for longer was "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback, which reached #1 the first weekend of 2002 and stayed there for 8 weeks. It's possible "Greedy" would have had eight or even nine weeks on top if not for the two weeks of year-end shows. And "Closer" had nine nonconsecutive weeks at #1 from October-December 2016 (counting the frozen year end show weeks), but didn't start a calendar year on top. The first week of January 2017 "Side To Side" by Ariana Grande hit #1.

Tate McRae has a nice start for the same this year Especially if Greedy has a slow decline. The mediabase is so too heavy this year. It’s so sad that a song with only 200 radio spins within the country gets a top 40 spot with the recurrent a rules obviously. It use to be a minimal of 900 to 1000 spins to have a chance to creep on Top 40 status. There are lacking quality songs so far this year of 2024.

Nice! “Bye Bye Bye” has to be the oldest throwback in a while. Getting closer to 90s territory there, but I have doubts that they’d do a 90s throwback. Probably not even Eminem’s “My Name Is” or one of Usher’s 90s hits. Although Usher had a chance for that when the Super Bowl was about to air.

Thank you for that information I knew it’s been a long time (22 years) since this hot start at number one run has happened on American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest. By the way it is time to buy a lotto ticket .. Ryan Seacrest has hosted the countdown for 5 straight weeks (shocking)

Looks like Calm Down may be breaking the record for longest run? It will be full steam ahead to pull a Warriors 73 (nba record) for the most weeks on the AT40 chart for Calm Down by Rema featuring Selena Gomez if it at no lower than 30 within two weeks which at that point will be @68 total weeks. Fortunately after dipping through the 10’s range it had slowed its decrease through the 20’s. Stay tuned

It’s not an exclusive Mount Rushmore club of American Top 40 but Jennifer Lopez had hit her 4th consecutive decade of a chart entry beginning with her iniitial 1999 debut If you had my love. It is quite an accomplishment and if she miraculously could pull an entry in 2030 she could join the likes abs company of Cher and Madonna who just pulled the feat covering from the 80’s to 20’s with her most recent appearance with Weeknd and Carti Boy of Popular that just fell off the American Top 40 in January.
