Kelsea solo hosting feels correct. She definitely doesn't need a male counterpart imo.

Lol, they were really desperate for Carrie to show up then. LOL! They usually don't put her categories that are CMT performance related, so yeah, desperate times for desperate measures. Nice to see a nomination regardless.

It didn't help she didn't release a music video at all, as I am still shocked they didn't even do a basic performance video for "Out Of That Truck".

Yeah feel like they threw in the "Hate My Heart" performance nod. because Carrie didn't release a video this year and they still want her to show up and hopefully perform. The part of me that wants an "Out of That Truck" performance hopes she does show.

Honestly, Carrie should have been nominated for her performance from the Vince Gill tribute last year. Anyway... 😅🙂

It is a new song Trisha co-wrote. Trisha is currently working on 2 new albums. One of the albums will be along the lines of the Sinatra album, and the studio album will be all songs she co-wrote over the past year or so.

Oh these performances have me HYPED for this year’s show—and the CMT Music Awards are one show I tend to skip over, lol. Bey and Miley, and LBT and Sugarland are two that I really can’t wait for. (And I hope that this means both LBT and Sugarland have new music coming soon.)
Kelsea going solo reminds me of a joke Reba made when she took over hosting the ACMs by herself in 2018, after years of Blake and Luke B hosting—“I guess they finally figured out it only takes one woman to do the job of two men!” Kelsea never needed a man to help her with hosting—she’s got all the charisma and personality needed to host a show by herself.
A CMT Music Awards show devoid of Carrie Underwood just feels bizarre, lol. Of course this was bound to happen sooner or later—particularly this year, with not an ounce of effort put into OOTT—but having grown up throughout the mid-2000s and the 2010s and seeing her dominate the show every single year even up to last year, it’s just jarring to suddenly see it this year. It really is almost like she dropped off the face of the earth somehow.

I don't really follow Megan Moroney but does she always sound like this? Not really a fan of her voice.
