What the hell are they thinking when "Growing Up Raising You" is right there. I mean I wouldn't mind if her career tanked as I don't like her or her music (that's been well documented here), but this is such a nothing single choice even if I did like her music and "Glory Days" isn't leaving her with much momentum radio wise as it barely scratched the Top 20.

I really don't get the reasoning behind releasing this other Luke Combs' name is attached to it. Especially when "Rasin' You" is connecting extremely well, unlike her lead single. I mean the music video is nearing a million views despite being released less than a month ago. Poor move after a soft lead single, when she needed to get some momentum.

Eh, "Growin' Up Raising You" may have moved the needle a little bit more than this one initially, but this is a far better and more interesting choice and I actually expect this to do really well for her at radio. Luke Combs has a co-write on this, and while that may not matter much to the GP, I think that'll be a draw of interest for country radio PDs. It also really tugs on the heartstrings more than anything else on this album, has that classic 3-story verse song structure that is a country music staple, and her vocal performance on this is truly incredible. Thematically, this sounds like the kind of song Cody Johnson would release. I hope this is a huge smash for her and helps get the era back on track because Chapter & Verse is just stacked with radio potential.

At least it sounds country…but going through the first verse all I hear is Strawberry Wine

Not a good choice unless they send a version with Luke Combs name on to radio.

This is one of those songs you hear the first verse and know exactly what the next two verses are about.
It’s not for me, too slow and boring.

Not a good choice unless they send a version with Luke Combs name on to radio. Which would be a very weird version because I don't know what character Luke Combs can play in this song. As for the song itself it's decent. Like some said the lyrics are quite predictable, but at least this is one of few songs that I liked from the album, aside from that song that is kind of viral.

Fourth most added song with 20 stations and I believe 24 total stations by add week.
Not going to lie that feels very underwhelming, obviously future week for adds can help like it did with "Pick Me Up" but the start isn't encouraging to say the least.

Also didn't help that this was a stacked week for adds. Still don't care for this song, it's fine, but when you had a smash waiting to happen that was already connecting out of the gate (GURY), just to release something that isn't connecting in any big way and only put it out cause Luke Comb's name slapped on it, I really question the decision.
Heck, I wouldn't have even minded if they gave Luke an actual verse and slapped his name on as a feature, that way maybe radio would actually pay attention to it.
I'm just not sure how this is going to end up doing. Hope it can at least match "Glory Days" peak.

Also didn't help that this was a stacked week for adds. Oh yes, a stacked week that has an unreleased Randy Houser song doing 50 adds before being released lol But this doing even worse than new Priscilla Block song in terms of adds is so underwhelming. She really needs a hit to maintain the fame and I am not sure whether this song is it.

That definitely isn't a great start in adds for this one out of the gate, but I'm hopeful that it picks up over time. I'm still perplexed as to why it feels like there's been no buzz surrounding this album era. Granted, she hasn't been lowkey due to the pregnancy, but they need to ramp up promotional efforts for her/her music again asap before she gets lost in the shuffle. Chapter & Verse is an exceptional album that deserves to be even bigger than her debut era imo based on the quality of material, so I'd hate to see it squandered just because her team drops the ball on it.

I’d consider an adds day that also consisted of -Luke Bryan’s latest -Pricilla Block (pulled in a respectable amount of adds with her single) -Morgan Wallen (who doesn’t “officially” release till next Monday, but this was the adds day that followed the new single announcement, which lead to a lot of early adds) To be stacked. Certainly enough for attention to be spread elsewhere rather than specifically on this.

Even with it being stacked I feel like this should have done better than 20. Like the last add date last year with Lady A, Dustin Lynch, Ashley Cooke, and Matt Stell had the lowest of them ("Breaking In Boots") pull in 47 adds and this could not even pull in 30 with slightly more competition than that add date?
I will say, with that being said, it's not that shocking this album era has been so quiet, between the pregnancy, lack of promo beyond the pregnancy, underwhelming lead single choice at best, and album eras not having that much natural hype to them like they used to, it is not that shocking that her star has faded a lot. I am shocked this song underperformed for adds but I am not shocked that Gabby Barrett is having a downward trend in momentum.

Something about this era has felt like neither she nor her team really cared. With another kid on the way, her star declining in the format especially with newer buzzier female acts and factoring the single choices- it’s like she’s ready to move over to CCM. She’d probably have strong success there and it’d fit her lifestyle, family and values much better anyway.

Music video released today. Very well done.
I will say she is starting to have a strong video catalog. All of her music videos have been very well done imo.

Gorgeous video. I agree that she's definitely got a pretty solid video catalog thus far.

Despite the lack of stations playing this it may chart soon given some big market daytime plays and solid audience numbers. I enjoyed “Glory days” more but I wouldn’t mind seeing this doing well.
