KNDD premiered this yesterday, and they've practically been playing this non-stop. It's definitely "harder", I guess you could say, than "Lost Cause" or anything I'm aware of from Sea Change. I've heard it at least three times in the last two days, but I still don't know what to think of it. I'll probably end up liking it (but wouldn't be surprised if KNDD burns it out for me).
So does this have any chance of doing anything worth caring about, or what? Does it even have an adds date?

It goes for adds on 2/15. It's hard for me to predict how this will do on Alternative. Beck's last two albums haven't been very popular at radio, but it seems like in the past year or so, Alternative stations have become more open to artists like Beck. Of course, the fact that I haven't heard the song doesn't make it easier for me to make a prediction...

I was really disapointed with Beck's last album, but I thought everything before that was brilliant. Hopefully his last effort was a fluke.

This is already at #57. That can't be a bad sign.

Considering that alternative is a much more excepting format now, former alternative successes are being welcomed back and that E Pro is currently at #37 with a bullet of 355, it wouldn't surprise me if Beck went top 5 with this.

It looks like Alternative is finally getting Beck his due on the format. After two albums which had biggest hits that only went top 20 and one with an album that did little on the format, it's nice to see Beck back where he belongs.
In fact, it's already ahead of the peak for "Lost Cause".

I heard "E-Pro" for the first time on the car radio tonight and it didn't leave much of a first impression. However I was in the process of trying to outrun a train so I wouldn't have to wait an extra 5-10 minutes to get to the goddamn grocery store. (I just barely totally failed.) So I wasn't exactly in the best circumstances to take in a new Beck song.
But...tonight on Launch, his brand new video for "Hell Yes" came on randomly and both song & video are amazing! The actual song took me a bit to get into, but by the time it had been going on for awhile, I ended up loving it. So yeah, Launch has the "Hell Yes" video. Go check it out.

I think I read somewhere about there being a Hell Yes EP (an iTunes exclusive). I guess that's the source of promotion that it came from.
By the way, whenever I get on a computer that doesn't suck as much as the one I'm currently on, I will consider checking the video out. I haved loved every Beck music video that I've seen thus far.

At Alternative, it was tied with "Stronger" as the biggest jumper of the week. "E-Pro" moves 28-16.

I do like his sound of "Lost Cause" better.
Still, this is a courageous, experimental departure and still quit decent.

I don't understand why this song is doing so well...is it because it's good or because Alternative already reserved a Top 3 spot for Beck before it was even released? I mean, I LIKE it, it's old-school Beck. But I'm surprised radio is eating it up so much. Guess it's part of that whole 90's revival thing...I just hope these artists are becoming big again because they are GOOD, not because alt. radio is desperate.
What # did Loser go to?
Is this his biggest hit (or should I say...highest charting hit) since then?
also, do you think his new album will do well?
I hope platinum.

Loser and Where It's At both went to #1.
If I remember correctly, Devil's Haircuit and The New Pollution also went top 3.

I don't know what chart Leo was looking at, but I know that on Billboard, "Loser" was indeed a #1, for 5 weeks in particular. "Where It's At" I think peaked at #4.
Last time he made the top 10 was with "The New Pollution" in 1997.
LOL, I'd hardly consider Beck an Active Rock artist. I don't think I really take the bottom ten positions of that chart seriously to begin with anyway.

Last time he made the top 10 was with "The New Pollution" in 1997. This was unbelievable to me, having grown up with a couple stations that play Beck religiously. But I checked AMG, and sure enough, he hasn't even hit the top 20 since New Pollution. I guess he's like Radiohead. The critically acclaimed one-hit wonder that gets no airplay on most alternative stations...until now. Hopefully this means Radiohead's next single will go straight to #1.

I noticed this was #16 in Hot 100 Singles Sales...Itunes, I guess?
Why is this not in the regular Hot 100?

I'd give anything for an alternative station that never plays "Creep". With bonus points if they play other Radiohead tracks besides "Creep". It's ridiculous how all these stations think they're recognizing this "critical acclaim" simply by taking that one song and placing it in permanent medium current rotation.
