This is a chart that I've been working on all week. It consists of songs and videos written, recorded, and/or released after President Bush waged war on Iraq in early 2003. I never got to hear a lot of the topical singles released closer to the war's beginning, but this list reflects all the songs and videos I have heard and seen in the past 2 years, whose subject matter is compassion, anti-war, and anti-Bush administration, either directly or implicitly. The entries are ranked in order of personal preference along with how much personally meaningful substance they have to them. I had wanted to provide just links to each entry's lyrics and appropriate videos, but regarding the lyrics, if you want something done right, you've gotta do it yourself. I manually corrected all the lyrics that I found online. So I guess I'll provide the lyrics in quote boxes somewhere. Without further ado, here's my supplemental chart for this week: 40. Yellowcard "Only One" (video) launch.yahoo.com/artist/videos.asp?artistID=109822439. The World/Inferno Friendship Society "The Expatriate Act" 38. Black Eyed Peas (f/ Justin Timberlake) "Where Is the Love" 37. Dillinger Four "Like Sprewells on a Wheelchair" 36. No Use for a Name "Fields of Agony [acoustic]" 35. Beastie Boys "That's It That's All" 34. Eminem "Mosh" (plus video) launch.yahoo.com/artist/videos.asp?artistID=103784733. Beastie Boys "We Got The" 32. Bad Religion "Atheist Peace" 31. Green Day "Favorite Son" 30. The Get Up Kids "Lion and the Lamb" 29. Bad Religion "The Empire Strikes First" 28. A Perfect Circle "What's Going On" (Marvin Gaye cover) 27. A Perfect Circle "Let's Have a War" (Fear cover) 26. A Perfect Circle "Peace, Love and Understanding" (Nick Lowe cover) 25. Beastie Boys "Right Right Now Now" 24. Bad Religion "To Another Abyss" 23. Incubus "Megalomaniac" (video) [Launch doesn't have it currently, but I imagine most of you have seen it.] 22. The Ataris "Heaven Is Falling" (Bad Religion cover, written during the first Bush administration) 21. NOFX "The Irrationality of Rationality" 20. Papa Roach "Getting Away With Murder" (video) launch.yahoo.com/artist/videos.asp?artistID=104502419. Anti-Flag "Turncoat" (The lyrics are probably close enough. I don't have my music video to review for accuracy.) 18. Beastie Boys "(It Takes) Time to Build" 17. The Offspring "Baghdad" 16. Faithless "Mass Destruction" 15. NOFX "Idiot Son of an Asshole" 14. Oh s**t! I completely forgot to include "'Merican" by the Descendents. I'll have to edit it in later.
Damn, how in the world could I forget that one?

Cool Chart!!! Also: Thanks for posting the lyrics!!
There were also 2 Zack De La Rocha songs that were released post-Iraq War, "March of Death" and "We Want it All".. If you haven't checked them out yet, they are both great and downloadable on *ahem* most file sharing services..

Hey, thanks for the reply! Glad someone vocally appreciated it. I'm aware of those Zack songs, but I only heard "March of Death" once, which was around the time it came out. Ditto for "In a World Gone Mad" by the Beastie Boys, which I regretfully could not include. I use school computers 95% of the time during the school months. File-sharing software is a strictly forbidden and has been since about 2003. (Oh, but the advantage I took up until that point!)
It's not worth the effort anymore to edit my chart for "'Merican," but I put it in at #26. So slide everything after down one. Here are the lyrics for "'Merican," which are surprisingly accurate, untouched:

Nah, it's just voices of musicians that disagree with the President's point of view..
Kinda like the Republicans disagreed with Clinton during the 1990's..
It's no different from AM Talk Radio (the Rush Limbaugh's, Hannity's, Savages, etc..) which has proven to be very successful..
I thought that citizens have the right to disagree with each other's point of view?

Just as I have the right to label them as hateful garbage. ;) I would have said the same thing about disgusting lyrics like that if I had seen them written about Clinton in the 90's too, or anyone else for that matter.

Wow, what a bunch of hateful garbage. Well, the "garbage" part, coming from you, doesn't the least bit surprise me, but what the heck is "hateful" about any of the following songs? 40. Yellowcard "Only One" 39. Beastie Boys "That's It That's All" 33. Incubus "Megalomaniac" 22. I only removed eight of the 40 songs, and four were by the same guys.

crash46 basically just did what I came into this topic to do, so for now, I'm not going to go over all the lyrics again myself with a fine-tooth comb pulling out any more lyrics that Jeffster might have deemed "hateful."
It's worth mentioning that, during the '90's, musicians didn't perceive Clinton's administration to be reckless, irresponsible, and bullheaded enough to warrant 2 fairly high-profile compilation albums' worth of dissent. And no right-wing musicians ever had album titles taking shots at Clinton's administration, either.

And I certainly didn't ask ya to. It was a bit of a dismissive , knee-jerk reaction on my part based on the rather obscene and insulting tone of several of the lyrics posted. Definitely wasn't aiming to turn your personal chart topic into another political discussion. ;) Heh, well, after I said that first part, now you've got me curious, WHY is that "worth mentioning"? I'm just not sure what your point is. Anyway, I expect there probably were some musicians that took shots at Clinton, but overall it's well-known that most famous musicians tend to be more liberal or atleast socially liberal, so they're going to more often have a problem with Republican presidents, some of those people I respect because they are consistent in their anti-war stances, others are just blatantly partisan, and if Clinton had taken the exact same actions against Iraq that Bush did, they would have likely not protested in the slightest. Anyway, my "garbage" comment was not based on the political views expressed, I respect the right of dissent from the establishment very much, I'm very much anti-establishment myself in a lot of ways. It seems to me however that there should be a difference between angry scribblings in a journal, and what is released to the public as art, once one has had time to craft and perfect it. I respect honest expression, and I've written a few obscenity-laced lyrics myself in my life, but if I was in a position to have an actual wide audience or record contract, I would tend to try to be a little more respectful in my expression of my views. Again, apologies for derailing a perfectly good usual Nick chart with like 12 songs by the same artist ;) Carry on.

I think that to an extent I would have to agree. I couldn't blame someone for liking those protest songs in any real way, but at times my head shook at how hypocritical a few of the artists who ended up with anti-war songs seemed. In some cases, I really don't mind, especially like what you mentioned about being consistent. I also kind of like how Sonic Youth had only one anti-Bush track on their new album ("Peace Attack"), rather than all 10 songs about it. Not that it means much, but only a handful of those songs made for the known target in full albums are really going to be remembered that much longer after the next four years, IMO.
