This will be the thread for all of my year-end charts that I make. I will modify the title as necessary. I just finished this first one today and will make it a guessing game.
Nick's Top 100 Musicians of All-Time (2004)
100. Take a look at your boxing equipment 099. In the flesh 098. Victims of post-9/11 retitling 097. Quirky virtuosos 096. Obviously I can't be objective, but I'd like to think a re-entry was in order this year anyway without a sympathy boost. 095. Sightings appropriate for the golf course 094. A Foo Fighters album cut in reverse order 093. The 10th and 26th members of a particular group. 092. On stage, this man goes by a name combination derived from two of his friends. 091. Rhymes with a popular video game series whose sequel just came out this fall.
Tomorrow, I'm going to see a concert by an act coming up in the next set of clues, so I won't be back to check up until Sunday night probably.

098. Jimmy Eat World 096. Pantera 093. Jay-Z Matt4319: 3 halo20: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 097. Name-checked in a censored Eminem tune. 095. A number is involved. 092. He's a bloke. And to make this go quicker, I'll go ahead and put up 90-81: 090. 4 of 5 Simpsons were involved in a parody of one of #90's album covers on a late 2002 issue of Rolling Stone. 089. Kidney Thieves covered one of her signature tunes. 088. Three of her album titles begin with prepositions. 087. Mild profanity in the name of this band 086. Most of his bigger hits of the last several years are lyrically pretty plain. 085. Her album titles have been one word each, so far. 084. Antidote 083. Named after a Stephen King character. 082. Has unimaginative album titles. 081. Had a different parenthetical phrase after their name on both albums. Have at 'em.

I'll repeat it again: Sightings appropriate for the golf course; and a number associated with golf (hence the 'golf course') More recent and think hip hop. As for 87 and 81, I'll wait to see if more people wanna take a stab at them. And Steve, if no one else answers 95 & 87, you'd better be able to within the next couple of days... Anyway...moving on to 80-71: 080. Same name as 1/2 of Mobb Deep 079. This band featured two members of the Primus (extended) family. To my knowledge, only one is no longer with the group. And there have been no released recordings of their contributions thus far. 078. Jimmy Buffett and a whole boatload of country superstars recorded one of his signature tunes this year. 077. The lead singer now has a recurring role on Gilmore Girls.076. They released an album earlier this year that was half self-titled. 075. Aural utopia 074. Metal band that used to feature Stephen Carpenter's (Deftones) brother on guitar. They hired a new bassist and their current bassist (who moonlights in Cypress Hill's live band occasionally) switched to guitar. Their only Alternative success was with a very minor hit cover of a new-wave classic. 073. Expansive 072. Has a new reality show on MTV (that he's not the star of) that replaces his popular first one. 071. Recorded a couple of tracks for Lil' Jon's album, including one video so far...(though it's been overlooked)

82. Eminem 78. Hank Williams crash46: 6 halo20: 5 Matt4319: 4 mst3k: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 friday: 1 friday, your other two guesses will appear much later. I'll wait to expand on the other clues until more people have a chance to answer (like crash & halo, specifically. They haven't answered in awhile and would probably like to...)

s***, that would make #95 Eighteen Visions. (I just started at zero and counted up until I found a number even remotely associated with golf, and found one before I got to the right one).

#95 Eighteen Visions 80. The Prodigy 74. Fear Factory 72. Ozzy Osbourne crash46: 8 halo20: 7 Matt4319: 4 mst3k: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 friday: 1 Steve, you might not get 76. I'm thinking that's more for someone like halo20. halo20, I'm not all that familiar with the Revolting Cocks' music, though my older brother is. Keep RHH in mind for later. And I love Battle for Ozzfest. I watch it religiously, because it's something relevant to me that I actually care about, unlike every other reality show out there. Now for some additional clues: 087. Primary band will be near the top of my list. (Steve, I'm still looking at you more than anyone else.) 081. Critically acclaimed hip hop 079. Now that I think about it, I don't recall who was in the band at the time, but the only output of theirs since 1994 has been one song on a soundtrack in 1999. 076. The album, with no official singles to my knowledge, came out in the summer. 075. Synonymous with "aural utopia," though perhaps "utopia" is slightly too strong of a word. 071. Hip hop legend who released a solo album a year for his first four years. Since then, new studio material has been pretty sporadic. I'll go ahead and give out 70-61:

NOW I think I know #87, but I'll hand it down to someone else (does it also consist of the member's name?)

81. Fugees 79. Guns 'N Roses 76. Sonic Youth 71. Ice Cube Geez, boy, I don't know what all you had to look at between what was there when you answered and my final modification 5 minutes later, but you're gettin' 'em left and right now. (I didn't post my new clues yet, in the event that someone was looking at what was there, and lo and behold, you were.) If you want #87, it's yours; I was just thinking Steve would have the best shot at it. Matt reluctantly took #73 from you, so have at it.

075. Synonymous with "aural utopia," though perhaps "utopia" is slightly too strong of a word.
#87 might as well be gone, since halo20 seems to know it. If you give me a minute, I'll have up clues for 70-61.
halo20: 11 crash46: 8 Matt4319: 4 mst3k: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 friday: 1
070. The past ten years would turn this biography into an absolute tragedy. And it's not even finalized yet. 069. Dallas psychobilly trio. 068. Smart-ass group that just turned political on their most recent album. 067. Tongue-in-cheek goth metal quartet. 066. Probably the only group on the chart that can quickly be tied indirectly to Dan Rather. 065. It would appear that this group was named after an autumnal act of hooliganism until they started putting "The" in front of their name. 064. Sorry purists, but this group is responsible for the original version of my very favorite song of all-time. 063. Synonymous with the past tense of "tarnish" 062. Dropped part of his stage name. 061. Metallica and AFI have both covered two of this band's songs (4 different ones).
