087. Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards 075. Soundgarden 069. Reverend Horton Heat 068. NOFX 067. Type O Negative 066. R.E.M. 065. Smashing Pumpkins 064. New Order 062. Snoop (Doggy) Dogg 061. The Misfits Matt, #68 was a good guess, but I was thinking more smart-ass and more political. Keep them in mind, though. And you at least had the right genre for #62. Geez, when your buddies get first crack at these, they go pretty quick.

65. Smashing Pumpkins (see, the VAST one's redeemed by a band that would also be in my top five)

#70 is still up for grabs, but here are the tallies as of now.
halo20: 21 crash46: 8 Matt4319: 5 mst3k: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 friday: 1
I'll post 60-51, just to reach the Top 50 and then I'll call it a day with this.
060. Had 3 albums starting in the late '90's and the frontman now sings in a new band whose debut came out in 2003 059. Legends whose latest album was a relative flop 058. Has 7 albums, but only 5 that most people are aware of 057. Slightly still more successful on Alternative than on Pop 056. The frontman for this band received his own novelty knock-off shirt this year. 055. 1/3 of a group previously listed on this chart. 054. There's apparently one of these in most states, not just the state from which they hail. 053. Named after a character in a children's movie from approximately 15+ years ago. 052. Overlooked band that put out one album in 1999 and broke up late the following year. 051. Band that earned a renaissance 3 years ago.

060. Coal Chamber 055. Wyclef Jean 052. Videodrone Steve, you have Weezer in the wrong place. (Nobody take it from him!) GC, Prince, and N.E.R.D. will all appear later halo20: 24 crash46: 9 Matt4319: 5 mst3k: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 friday: 1

So then Weezer must be at #56.
And, now that I notice 57 isn't GC, make that one Evanescence.

No, 53 is Atreyu. Don't know how I could miss that; I even knew that before I'd heard any of their music.

57. Evanescence 53. Atreyu U2 and Jane's Addiction will appear later. 070. Remove the t in "this." 056. The novelty shirt in question is one that Ashton Kutcher popularized at the beginning of this year. (Or has it been two years already? I don't know.) The one I'm referring to is a knock-off of the one he wore. 054. They had to change the spelling in order to secure the domain name for their website. 051. 2nd album has quietly become a cult classic halo20: 25 crash46: 11 Matt4319: 5 mst3k: 2 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1 friday: 1 Here's 50-41: 050. Had a minor Alternative hit three years ago. Never had a gold record. Their third album came out in September '03 and the frontman quit 3 or 4 months later. That may have pulled the rug out from under any subsequent single(s) being released, but it didn't stop them from being nominated for a Grammy. 049. Named after a sweeping glance at a children's book. 048. If Alecia Moore married Eighteen Visions' drummer-turned-guitarist, her name might be this. 047. Overlooked, beloved St. Louis band who had a Top 10 Alternative hit in 1998, but not much else nationally before breaking up. 046. Distant descendant of Herman Melville 045. Songs primarily revolve around ambiguous sex, experimenting with drugs and teenage rebellion 044. Their second major label album cover had to be censored for a lot of of stores. 043. Their songs have recently been covered live by Evanescence, Seether and Limp Bizkit, among others, I'm sure. 042. Their most recent offering was released in 5 versions: A generic version, and a different design from each member of the band. 041. Replaced Ice Cube over midway through the inaugural Family Values Tour.

And you have no idea that the man in question's first name is Ken. Note that Eminem was #82 and that "My Name Is" was roughly 3 months away. halo20: 25 crash46: 11 Matt4319: 5 mst3k: 4 friday: 3 SPro: 1 jimmy74747: 1
