CHR/Pop
Mario- "Let Me Love You" C+ (but higher than I ever thought I'd give a song by this guy.) Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" D+ Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be" B- (but this definitely didn't deserve to fly up to #1 when it was re-released.) Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul" C- (This shouldn't be in the top 40 at all, let alone the top 5.) Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over" C- (Wow, this looks like it could fall below #20 before reaching 20 weeks, which would be hilarious considering the song spent 8 weeks at #1.) Destiny's Child- "Soldier" F ("Better be street if he lookin' at me" What a dumb line. And song.) Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone" C+ Ryan Cabrera- "True" A- Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" A- Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot" D- (Someone's gonna get hurt if I hear one more person at my school say "drop it like it's hot" or "snoooooooooooooooop!".) Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" A- Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Ursher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends" B Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore" B- (But why is this still bulleted? I was expecting this to last no more than several weeks in the top 50.) Advil Ravine- "Nobody's Home" C Eminem- "Mockingboyd" C+ Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo" D (Those high-pitched humming sounds every few seconds are annoying. An the lyrics are dumb, too.) Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl" C+ Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath" F John Mayer- "Daughters" F+ (It should've been "Clarity" that was the big hit from this album, not this.) Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live" C- Maroon 5- "Sunday Morning" B+ (It's nice to see a Maroon 5 song getting played in moderation for once.) Usher- "Caught Up" d/r (I'm pretty sure I heard it once a few weeks ago but I don't really remember it.) Jennifer Lopez- "Get Right" n/a (I'm trying hard not to hear this because it can't possibly be any good judging by what people here have said about it.) Lenny Kravitz- "Lady" D+ (Way too repetitive.) Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- "Wonderful" D- Eminem f/ Dr. Dre- "Encore" D+ Ashanti- "Only U" C+ (but better than I was expecting.) Ashlee Simpson- "La La" F- (Ashlee, what the hell did my poor ears ever do to you? :'() Trick Daddy- "Let's Go" F (This one's pretty hard on the ears too.) Fiddy Cent- "Disco Inferno" n/a (see J Lo, except replace "what people here have said about it" with "the fact that it's 50 Cent.") Simple Pain- "Welcome To My Life" F (Wow, this has got to have the most cliche lyrics of any song ever recorded.) Jojo- "Baby It's You" B- Nelly- "N Dey Sey" B+ (Nelly destroyed "True" so badly that this whole song comes across as hilarious to me.) Ludacris- "Get Back" D+ Alicia Keys- "Karma" n/a Frankie J. f/ Baby Bash- "Obsession" B- Bowling For Soup- "Almost" D (Don't they have any songs that aren't novelty? How 'bout releasing one of those.) Eminem- "Just Lose It" F- 3 Doors Down- "Let Me Go" C+ (You were a lot better before.) The Game f/ 50 Cent- "How We Do" n/a (and I don't want to, either.) U2- "Vertigo" B- Eminem- "Like Toy Soldiers" n/a Chingy- "Balla Baby" D Tyler Hilton- "When It Comes" n/a Goo Goo Dolls- "Give A Little Bit" B Lindsay Lohan- "Over" D (This song is absolutely nothing we haven't already heard 10000000 times.) Jet- "Look What You've Done" B- Keane- "Somewhere Only We Know" A Hoobastank- "Disappear" B+ (This has gotten old pretty fast.) N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee- "Oye Mi Caunto" C
AC
Los Lonely Boys- "Heaven" B Keith Urban- "You'll Think of Me" D (I still don't understand how this got all the way up here.) Martina McBride- "In My Daughter's Eyes" C- Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" A Five For Fighting- "100 Years" A- (A great song, but it's time for it to go.) Phil Collins- "Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away" B (I guess. I'm not really that familiar with it yet.) Hall & Oates- "I'll Be Around B+ Tim McGraw- "Live Like You Were Dying C (Not that great, but at least it sounds like a song AC would play a lot, unlike that Keith Urban song.) Maroon 5- "This Love" C+ (It'll probably go back up to a B/B+ as soon as I stop hearing it so much.) Maroon 5- "She Will Be Loved" B+ Hoobastank- "The Reason" A Elton John- "Answer In The Sky" C+ (wow, this certainly didn't last long.) Michael McDonald- "Reach Out, I'll Be There" n/a (I may have heard this a few months ago at Borders when they were playing a whole bunch of his songs.) Rod Stewart f/ Stevie Wonder- "What A Wonderful World" B Kenny G. f/ Earth, Wind & Fire- "The Way You Move" A Shania Twain w/ Mark McGrath- "Party For Two" D Katrina Carlson- "Drive" n/a Tina Turner- "Open Arms" B- (based on one listen.) Celine Dion- "Beautiful Boy" D+ (Celine should not be doing reggae.) Jim Brickman f/ Roch Voisine- "My Love Is Here" n/a Lionel Richie- "Long Long Way To Go" B- (What happened to this?) Richard Marx- "Ready To Fly" B- Ray Charles f/ Diana Krall- "You Don't Know Me" n/a Simply Red- "Home" B (I should chart this sometime.) Josh Groban- "Believe" B (but why is this Christmas song still on here?) John Mellencamp- "Walk Tall" n/a Finger Eleven- "One Thing" B
Hot AC
Switchfoot- "Dare You To Move" A+ Ryan Cabrera- "On The Way Down" B- Howie Day- "Collide" B+ Bowling For Soup- "1985" B- Killers- "Somebody Told Me" A- Anna Nalick- "Breathe (2AM)" B Low Millions- "Eleanor" n/a Ingram Hill- "Will I Ever Make It Home" B- Aslyan- "Be The Girl" n/a Calling- "Anything" A Los Lonely Boys- "More Than Love" B- Duran Duran- "What Happens Tommorow" B Rachel Yamagata- "Worn Me Down" n/a Joss Stone- "Right To Be Wrong" C Linkin Park- "Breaking The Habit" A- Mindy Smith- "Come To Jesus" C+ Duran Duran- "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" A
Alternative
Papa Roach- "Scars" B Crossfade- "Cold" C Killers- "Mr. Brightside" B Three Days Grace- "Home" C U2- "All Because of You" C+ Jimmy Eat World- "Pain" A- My Chemical Romance- "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" C+ Unwritten Law- "Save Me" B Muse- "Hysteria" A- Lostprophets- "I Don't Know" A Jimmy Eat World- "Work" B+ (it'll probably move into the A range eventually) Slipknot- "Vermillion" C+ Breaking Benjamin- "So Cold" B- Sum41- "Pieces" A- Chevelle- "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" C- (this band is really overrated.) Queens of the Stone Age- "Little Sister" B- (after one listen) Used- "All That I've Got" A (is it too much to ask for just one of their songs to go all the way to the top 10?) Breaking Benjamin- "Sooner or Later" n/a Velvet Revolver- "Dirty Little Thing" B- (after one listen) Mars Volta- "The Widow (I'll Never Sleep Alone)" n/a (but why is this gaining so much after "Televators" did nothing?) A Perfect Circle- "Passive" B- Shinedown- "Burning Bright" C Social Distortion- "Reach For the Sky" n/a Marilyn Manson- "Personal Jesus" n/a Franz Ferdiand- "This Fire" B- Kasabian- "Club Foot" n/a Exies- "Ugly" C+ Chevelle- "The Clincher" C Zutons- "Pressure Point" B- (How do you pronounce their name? Does it rhyme with "newtons" or "croutons"?) Coheed & Cambria- "Blood Red Summer" B Interpol- "Evil" n/a Sum41- "We're All To Blame" B- Louis XIV- "Find Out True Love Is Blind" n/a Korn- "Another Brick In the Wall" C- Green Day- "Holiday" n/a Rise Against- "Give It All" n/a Jack Johnson- "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" C System of A Down- "Cigaro" C+ (this song is so f**ked up, but it's growing on me) Taking Back Sunday- "This Photograph Is Proof" n/a Crossfade- "So Far Away" C+ Elefant- "Misfit" n/a Alter Bridge- "Find the Real" n/a Tegan & Sara- "Walking With A Ghost" B

CHR/Pop Mario- "Let Me Love You" B (The first time I heard this I instantly knew it would go further than "Just a Friend," but I didn't want this.) Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" D+ (The fact that this song is eclipsing the fantastic "Goodies" is disheartening and vomit-worthy.) Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be" B- (I thought it deserved success akin to say, "No Such Thing" or "The Remedy," while it was laying low but regrouping all summer, but I didn't want this.) Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul" D (After so much exposure, I reluctantly gave Ryan Cabrera some merit, but this twerp is too much to ask. This is not "On the Way Down" caliber and I dislike very much the fact it's doing better than "True." ) Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over" A- (Burning slowly the whole time. The fact that it finally got a video nudged it onto my contender list and A range.) Destiny's Child- "Soldier" F (This is such a pathetic and phony attempt to keep street credibility, but the sad thing is, because successful girl groups are so rare, the streets don't care and are eating this crap up by the handfuls.) Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone" B+ Ryan Cabrera- "True" B Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" A+ Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot" A (The way this was posting double-digit gains each week and flew up the charts, I thought this was a surefire #1. I was shocked and saddened when it stalled at #5.) Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" B (Improved with age.) Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz f/ Ursher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends" B- Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore" B (Since "Encore" was never an official single, no one seems to care that "Numb" is charting twice. I never would've guessed the novelty of this would have such staying power.) Avril Lavine- "Nobody's Home" B+ (I'm surprised I've actually liked every single of hers off this album, pretty much no questions asked and guilt-free.) Eminem- "Mockingbird" B (Did Eminem agree to release this surefire hit after "Just Lose It" was widely received as tired and had no staying power?) Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo" B Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl" B- (This is only getting a relatively free pass just becuz it's Gwen.) Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath" B- John Mayer- "Daughters" D+(Why did this have to catch on at the last second when this album should've rightfully been done?) Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live" A (Pleased that this didn't show any drop off after "Predictable" failed to catch appropriately.) Maroon 5- "Sunday Morning" B- (Haven't really given this one a chance yet.) Usher- "Caught Up" nfe (See above, though I'm close to grading it.) Jennifer Lopez- "Get Right" C+ (Surprised that this isn't a dogpiss first single like "My Love Don't Cost a Thing" and "Jenny From the Block" were. The remix with Fabolous is preferable because he gives the song more interest.) Lenny Kravitz- "Lady" C- (The fact that he gets hits with his most asininely bland lyrics is puzzling to the point of irritation. This went 30-24 this week?? Why?) Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- "Wonderful" C (The lyrics are pitiful and this is just a water-treading song for all 3 involved.) Eminem f/ Dr. Dre & 50 Cent- "Encore" A- (I guess he didn't want to give in officially to a surefire hit with this one. Too bad.) Ashanti- "Only U" B+ (I wasn't expecting such a unique sound from her. Best song she's ever done.) Ashlee Simpson- "La La" B- (I think I'm giving this one a free pass because it's so different and bolder than her first two singles, I appreciate the rasp in her voice, and I'm fascinated by the lyric, "Drink the milk up, I want more.") Trick Daddy- "Let's Go" C+ (I wish Lil Jon would've done more with the "Crazy Train" sample.) 50 Cent- "Disco Inferno" nfe Simple Plan- "Welcome To My Life" A- (With hooks out the ass from I band I really want to see improve, I can't deny this, despite the generic lyrics.) JoJo- "Baby It's You" B (Just when this was really starting to grow on me, it peaks and plummets. Even Bow Wow's contribution was remarkably problem-free.) Nelly- "N Dey Sey" B- (I'd be able to get behind this more if P.M. Dawn hadn't already used this sample 14 years ago.) Ludacris- "Get Back" B (Improving with age, despite being nothing new. And the one-joke video relies again on him enlarging part of his body, but the fact that my older brother actually saw it and told me why he personally appreciates its intro causes me to get into it more than I was initially.) Alicia Keys- "Karma" B- (I liked this at first, but it's basically one generic tune after another these days.) Frankie J. f/ Baby Bash- "Obsession" n/a Bowling For Soup- "Almost" C (OK, "Girl All the Bad Guys Want" was very clever, albeit misguided, and "1985" was good the first 10 times, but the fact that they're so pop-oriented now and always joking around causes me to be unfazed by this one.) Eminem- "Just Lose It" B+ (The "What's your name girl?/What's your sign?" part of the video is hilarious, as is the part where he's Pee Wee riding his bike down the street.) 3 Doors Down- "Let Me Go" B- The Game f/ 50 Cent- "How We Do" B+ U2- "Vertigo" B+ Eminem- "Like Toy Soldiers" B+ Chingy- "Balla Baby" D+ (Though the fact that my girlfriend really got into it caused me to not hate it so much. Unfortunately for the both of us, it peaked right about the time she got into it.) Tyler Hilton- "When It Comes" n/a Goo Goo Dolls- "Give A Little Bit" B- (Unbeknownst to me, this is a Supertramp cover.) Lindsay Lohan- "Ho-ver" C+ (Better than "Rumors" hands down, but the way she pronounces the title is disjarring.) Jet- "Look What You've Done" B- (Don't much care for what happens to the animated Bambi-esque forest animals at the end of the video. I liked the "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" t-shirt until I noticed it actually reads "Los Angeles.") Keane- "Somewhere Only We Know" C+ (This has had so much staying power that it's almost embarrassing that I haven't given it more of a shot.) Hoobastank- "Disappear" C+ (A lot duller than I was expecting.) N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee- "Oye Mi Canto" D+ (Might like it more if it didn't use the same hook from Big Pun's song, which may very well have been lifted itself.)
AC Los Lonely Boys- "Heaven" B Keith Urban- "You'll Think of Me" n/a Martina McBride- "In My Daughter's Eyes" n/a Five For Fighting- "100 Years" C- Phil Collins- "Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away" n/a Hall & Oates- "I'll Be Around" n/a Tim McGraw- "Live Like You Were Dying" nfe Maroon 5- "This Love" B+ Maroon 5- "She Will Be Loved" B Hoobastank- "The Reason" B+ Elton John- "Answer In The Sky" nfe Michael McDonald- "Reach Out, I'll Be There" n/a Rod Stewart f/ Stevie Wonder- "What A Wonderful World" n/a Kenny G. f/ Earth, Wind & Fire- "The Way You Move" n/a Shania Twain w/ Mark McGrath- "Party For Two" nfe (but I'm close.) Katrina Carlson- "Drive" n/a Tina Turner- "Open Arms" n/a Celine Dion- "Beautiful Boy" n/a Jim Brickman f/ Roch Voisine- "My Love Is Here" n/a Lionel Richie- "Long Long Way To Go" n/a Richard Marx- "Ready To Fly" nfe (I'm amazed that I actually caught this on my Hot AC station one day.) Ray Charles f/ Diana Krall- "You Don't Know Me" n/a Simply Red- "Home" n/a Josh Groban- "Believe" n/a John Mellencamp- "Walk Tall" B+ (But I think I like the video more than the song itself. I've never heard it aside from VH1.) Finger Eleven- "One Thing" B (simply appalling that AC could ever give two s**ts about this band.)

Hot AC Switchfoot- "Dare You To Move" C Ryan Cabrera- "On The Way Down" C+ Howie Day- "Collide" nfe Bowling For Soup- "1985" B- (Though it definitely didn't deserve the success it got. On any format.) Killers- "Somebody Told Me" A+ Anna Nalick- "Breathe (2AM)" n/a Low Millions- "Eleanor" n/a Ingram Hill- "Will I Ever Make It Home" C- Aslyan- "Be The Girl" n/a (Though I've seen it about 3 times on VH1 in passing, so I guess I have to acknowledge its/her existence now.) Calling- "Anything" n/a or nfe (I don't remember which single I've heard.) Los Lonely Boys- "More Than Love" B (Why the f**k didn't this go anywhere? It was just as good.) Duran Duran- "What Happens Tommorow" n/a Rachel Yamagata- "Worn Me Down" nfe Joss Stone- "Right To Be Wrong" nfe (But boy, she sure is getting shoved down our throats for someone who has yet to have a bona fide hit.) Linkin Park- "Breaking The Habit" A Mindy Smith- "Come To Jesus" n/a Duran Duran- "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" B-
Alternative Papa Roach- "Scars" B+ Crossfade- "Cold" B+ Killers- "Mr. Brightside" A Three Days Grace- "Home" B+ U2- "All Because of You" B+ Jimmy Eat World- "Pain" B+ My Chemical Romance- "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" A+ Unwritten Law- "Save Me" B+ (so far.) Muse- "Hysteria" A Lostprophets- "I Don't Know" A Jimmy Eat World- "Work" A- (so far.) Slipknot- "Vermillion" B+ Breaking Benjamin- "So Cold" B Sum41- "Pieces" A- (so far.) Chevelle- "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" B+ Queens of the Stone Age- "Little Sister" nfe Used- "All That I've Got" A+ ("is it too much to ask for just one of their songs to go all the way to the top 10?" I agree completely.) Breaking Benjamin- "Sooner or Later" nfe Velvet Revolver- "Dirty Little Thing" B Mars Volta- "The Widow (I'll Never Sleep Alone)" nfe (But for such a hot song, it sure was unimpressive and slow. For this much attention, I was expecting something that cooked, like "Inertiatic ESP." And then I hear the album is going to be just 5 tracks sprawled out over a CD that's practically maxed out? Yeah, you've got a prayer with me. f**k you.) A Perfect Circle- "Passive" B+ (so far, but I might as well go ahead and push it up to the A range, because that's exactly where it's going. Great video too.) Shinedown- "Burning Bright" D+ There's no excuse for music this bland to be carrying an album this f**king far.) Social Distortion- "Reach For the Sky" A+ Marilyn Manson- "Personal Jesus" B+ (If he were really as edgy as he thinks he is, he would've done something more creative with the song, but more importantly, he would've chose a different Depeche Mode tune to cover, rather than one that's as well-worn as this one. I would bet money that payola caused the delayed success of this song.) Franz Ferdiand- "This Fire" B Kasabian- "Club Foot" nfe (but I'm close.) Exies- "Ugly" C- (Why this band and this tune are achieving any success still is beyond me.) Chevelle- "The Clincher" nfe (which is sad, because I've owned the album since the day after it came out. I'm probably pretty close to a grade, though.) Zutons- "Pressure Point" nfe (Rhymes with "croutons." Another song I could probably grade if I just heard it once more.) Coheed & Cambria- "Blood Red Summer" B (I don't think this band is going to have much more mainstream success.) Interpol- "Evil" n/a Sum41- "We're All To Blame" B+ Louis XIV- "Find Out True Love Is Blind" n/a (I have no idea if they existed before Franz Ferdinand, but no one's going to care. The public will and more importantly, the label that signed them only see "Piggyback Franz Ferdinand.") Triple A Snow Patrol- "Run" B Shore- "Hard Road" n/a Ray Lamontagne- "Trouble" n/a R.E.M.- "Aftermath" n/a Tori Amos- "Sleeps With Butterflies" n/a (But probably the current single I want to hear most, out of any format.) Ray Charles f/ Van Morrison- "Crazy Love" n/a Madeleine Peyroux- "Don't Wait Too Long" n/a Mark Knopfler- "Boom Like That" n/a Blue Merie- "Burning In the Sun" n/a Mick Jagger & Dave Stewart f/ Sheryl Crow- "Old Habits Die Hard" n/a Jackson Browne w/ Bonnie Raitt- "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" n/a Kenny Wayne Shepard- "Let Go" n/a Bruce Hornsby- "Circus On the Moon" n/a Norah Jones- "Those Sweet Words" nfe Sarah McLachlan- "World On Fire" B- Jamie Cullum- "High And Dry" n/a (I'd like to hear this, too.) Wilco- "Theologians" n/a
CHR/Rhythmic T.I.- "Bring 'Em Out" C- (A completely overrated song.) Daddy Yankee- "Gasolina" n/a Lloyd Banks f/ Avant- "Karma" D Terror Squad- "Lean Back" C- (Totally overrated. Musically in the B range, but lyrically in the F range.) Mariah Carey- "It's Like That" n/a Tori Alamaze- "Don't Cha" n/a Trick Daddy f/ Lil' Kim & Cee-Lo- "Sugar (Gimme Some)" nfe (but close.) Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Lil' Scrappy- "What U Gon' Do" C+ 50 Cent- "Candy Shop" n/a Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Let's Get Blown" B (Snoop testing his singing voice? :o) Natalie- "Goin' Crazy" n/a NB Ridaz- "Pretty Girl" n/a Fabolous f/ Mike Shorey- "Baby" C (Fab's pretty hit-or-miss, and quite frankly, his love songs are usually the "miss" ones.) Jadakiss f/ Mariah Carey- "U Make Me Wanna" B- (If it were any other "urban edged" singer instead of Mariah, this might be 1 or 2 steps higher. Mariah's part is trash, but the music is decent.) Baby Bash- "Baby I'm Back" n/a Omarion- "O" nfe (but close to a grade.) Chingy f/ Janet Jackson- "Don't Worry" n/a Twista f/ Faith Evans- "Hope" nfe (and taking my time. Trillville- "Some Cut" nfe (but I remember it sucking. Big surprise, considering how piss-poor "Neva Eva" was.) Nivea f/ Lil' Jon & Youngbloodz- "Okay" n/a Young Buck- "Shorty Wanna Ride" C Nina Sky- "Turnin' Me On" n/a Guerilla Black f/ Mario Winans- "You're The One" B Lil' Wayne- "Go DJ" D-
Urban Fantasia - "Truth Is": nfe John Legend - "Ordinary People": nfe Ja Rule f/ Fat Joe & Jadakiss - "New York": B+ T.I. - "You Don't Know Me": nfe (But from the taste at the end of the "Bring 'Em Out" video, this one sounds considerably better.) Tyra - "Country Boy: nfe (but if her definition of "country" is St. Louis, Miami, and Atlanta, she's got another thing coming. "Country" does not = "midwestern/southern," you dumb broad.) Body Headbangers f/ Youngbloodz - "I Smoke, I Drank": n/a Razah - "Feel So Good": n/a Amerie - "One Thing": n/a Tango f/ David Banner & Bone Crusher - "Wobble and Shake It": n/a Brooke Valentine f/ Big Boi & Lil' Jon - "Girlfight": n/a Baby f/ Lil Wayne- "Shyne On": nfe (but close.) Mike Jones f/ Slim Thug & Paul Wall- "Still Tippin'": nfe (but close.) Nelly f/ Jazze Pha- "Na-nana-na": nfe (but close.) Slim Thug - "Like a Bouse": D (For as much hype as he's getting, I'm surprised to see this one slipping already. And someone needs to tell him that "boss" does not rhyme with "blouse," "douse," "house," "louse," "mouse," "souse," or "spouse.")
Active Rock Mötley CrÜe - "If I Die Tomorrow": nfe (Heard this for the first time last night. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting. This is probably a low B.) Papa Roach - "Getting Away With Murder": A Velvet Revolver - "Fall to Pieces": A- Nickelback - "Because of You": C+ Sumersed - "Hollow": n/a Sevendust - "Face to Face": n/a Earshot - "Someone": nfe (but close.) Judas Priest - "Revolution": nfe Shadows Fall - "What Drives the Weak": B Collective Soul - "Counting the Days": nfe Spiderbait - "Black Betty": n/a Black Label Society - "Suicide Messiah": nfe Candiria - "Down": nfe Nonpoint - "In the Air Tonight": B- (I was a little disappointed they didn't do more with it. Megadeth - "Of Mice and Men": n/a Skindred - "Pressure": n/a Cradle of Filth - "Nymphetamine": B+ Lamb of God - "Laid to Rest": A- Future Leaders of the World - "Everyday": n/a Theory of a Dead Man - "No Surprise: n/a Crazy Anglos - "Fade": nfe (but it wasn't very good.) Damageplan - "Soul Bleed": n/a Prom Kings - "Alone": nfe (only marginally better than Crazy Anglos. The Game likes them.) Copper - "Turn": n/a

CHR/Pop
Mario- "Let Me Love You": B Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" C- (I'd be willing to bet that every single song on Goodies is exactly the same. It won't work for long.) Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be": n/a Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul": C (the most flawlessly boring-ass song of the moment) Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over": C- Destiny's Child- "Soldier": F Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone": B- (Her most listenable song yet; her legitamacy is starting to show a little. Could have been higher if the music wasn't so plastic. I'm surprised my windshield survived that bridge.) Ryan Cabrera- "True": C- (this is the whiniest song ever recorded.) Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams": A- Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot": A (I'm sure the children at Mega's school like the song for all the wrong reasons and they'll ultimately end up becoming failures in life.) Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway": C+ (the song is all chorus, just like "Ms. Indepencence". The rest is too unmemorable for me to ever recognize until it gets to the chorus.) Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Ursher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends": B+ (I think this song is hilarious, yet Lil' Jon still isn't doing anything different from how he's been doing it the past three years.) Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore": C (I don't like hearing these songs all over again with a bunch of shoutouts thrown in.) Avril Lavigne- "Nobody's Home": nfe. Eminem- "Mockingbird": C+ (it's slow and uneventful, and he seems to be losing his wit. I don't prefer his family affair songs anyway.) Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo": C Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl": nfe (I didn't like what I heard, though. Hopefully Eve doesn't have much of a part in this because she's usually awful.) Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath": C (this isn't bad because they don't do many of the things that make all the rest of DC's (and their solo) songs bad.) John Mayer- "Daughters": D+ (what a ridiculous, shoulda-been-banished-to-AC-a-long-time-ago mess.) Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live": B- Maroon 5- "Sunday Morning": n/a Usher- "Caught Up": n/a Jennifer Lopez- "Get Right": n/a (it'd be nice if we could officially write her off, though.) Lenny Kravitz- "Lady": C (I don't see how this is so bad; maybe I'm just not paying enough attention because there really isn't much to it.) Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- "Wonderful": D (boy did this sure tank in a hurry. Ha!) Eminem f/ Dr. Dre- "Encore": n/a Ashanti- "Only U": B+ Ashlee Simpson- "La La": C+ (a blatant attempt to save face, obviously, so that's strike one, but unfortunately, I couldn't come up with anything bad to say about the song. This would have been so much better as a debut single, or at least a single before having her artistic validity being totally disproven a 1000 times.) Trick Daddy- "Let's Go": B+ (This one cracks me up too.) 50 Cent- "Disco Inferno": n/a Simple Pain- "Welcome To My Life": D+ (the song is a joke and I don't sympathize.) Jojo- "Baby It's You": D (I tried to giving this a chance, and for a minute I thought it wasn't going to be all that bad, but it just kept getting progressively worse.) Nelly- "N Dey Sey": n/a Ludacris- "Get Back": n/a Alicia Keys- "Karma": n/a Frankie J. f/ Baby Bash- "Obsession": n/a Bowling For Soup- "Almost": nfe Eminem- "Just Lose It": B+ 3 Doors Down- "Let Me Go": B The Game f/ 50 Cent- "How We Do": n/a U2- "Vertigo": A- (this so should have been more of a "Staring At The Sun"-ish run and not a "Discotheque"ly run like it actually was.) Eminem- "Like Toy Soldiers": nfe (i've heard his whole album, (not particularly impressed by it), but I don't remember this.) Chingy- "Balla Baby": n/a Tyler Hilton- "When it Comes": n/a Goo Goo Dolls- "Give A Little Bit": n/a Lindsay Lohan- "Over": n/a Jet- "Look What You've Done": B- Keane- "Somewhere Only We Know": B+ (I like the demo for this song better than the finished product) Hoobastank- "Disappear": B N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee- "Oye Mi Canto": n/a
Hot AC
Switchfoot- "Dare You To Move": B- Ryan Cabrera- "On The Way Down": B- Howie Day- "Collide": n/a Bowling For Soup- "1985": B- Killers- "Somebody Told Me": A Anna Nalick- "Breathe (2AM)": n/a (who?) Low Millions- "Eleanor": n/a (who?) Ingram Hill- "Will I Ever Make It Home": n/a Aslyan- "Be The Girl": n/a (who?) Calling- "Anything": n/a Los Lonely Boys- "More Than Love": n/a Duran Duran- "What Happens Tomorrow": n/a (I actually did hear their hit from last year, which was pretty decent.) Rachel Yamagata- "Worn Me Down": n/a Joss Stone- "Right To Be Wrong": n/a Linkin Park- "Breaking The Habit": B+ Mindy Smith- "Come To Jesus": n/a Duran Duran- "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise": (was this the song I alluded to five songs up? B (so far) if it is.)
Alternative
Papa Roach- "Scars": B- Crossfade- "Cold": B+ Killers- "Mr. Brightside": A- Three Days Grace- "Home": B- U2- "All Because of You": B Jimmy Eat World- "Pain": A+ My Chemical Romance- "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)": A+ Unwritten Law- "Save Me": C (The lyrics to this song are so ridiculous, and dated. I can't imagine what I'd have to do with this song if it wasn't catchy.) Muse- "Hysteria": A+ Lostprophets- "I Don't Know": A- Jimmy Eat World- "Work": B (thus far) Slipknot- "Vermillion Pt. 2": A Breaking Benjamin- "So Cold": B- Sum41- "Pieces": n/a (go figure. 89x and their Can-con requirements are leaving this in the dark while they're still on "We're All To Blame" 38x a week. Good gravy.) Chevelle- "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)": B Queens of the Stone Age- "Little Sister": B+ (so far. As much as I like the QOTSA, I'm mad that this is hindering songs like "Hysteria" and "I Don't Know" from the top ten, when this was obviously going to get there anyway.) Used- "All That I've Got": A- Breaking Benjamin- "Sooner or Later": n/a Velvet Revolver- "Dirty Little Thing": A- (this song leaves "Fall To Pieces" in a cloud of dust.) Mars Volta- "The Widow (I'll Never Sleep Alone)": A (well, I for one am excited about the song and the five-track album.) A Perfect Circle- "Passive": A- Shinedown- "Burning Bright": B Social Distortion- "Reach For the Sky": A Marilyn Manson- "Personal Jesus": B- Franz Ferdinand- "This Fire": A- Kasabian- "Club Foot": A- (so far) Exies- "Ugly": C+ Chevelle- "The Clincher": n/a Zutons- "Pressure Point": B (so far. All's I really have to go on is their live performance that I saw when they opened for Muse, which was pretty dang good for a nobody.) Coheed & Cambria- "Blood Red Summer": B+ Interpol- "Evil": B- (so far. All their singles seem to grow slowly.) Sum41- "We're All To Blame": A- Louis XIV- "Finding Out True Love Is Blind": B+ (so far. I just can't see Franz ever making a song anything like this, so as of now, I don't care about any other similarities that may be remaining.) Korn- "Another Brick In the Wall": C (the song just doesn't work with American kids. Kids need to be shut out of music. Pink Floy'ds song was a rare exception.) Green Day- "Holiday": B (so far. On the album, it gets lost in the shuffle being right between "Jesus Of Suburbia" and "BOBD".) Rise Against- "Give It All": n/a Jack Johnson- "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing": n/a System of A Down- "Cigaro": n/a (highly anticipating the albums though, obviously.) Taking Back Sunday- "This Photograph Is Proof": B+ Crossfade- "So Far Away": B (so far.) Elefant- "Misfit": B+ Alter Bridge- "Find the Real": n/a Tegan & Sara- "Walking With A Ghost": n/a Long-View - "When You Sleep": n/a (had to add this in because it's in the top 50 now, and because my first impression was "how dare they emerge during the time Green Day is owner of this planet".)

Active Rock
Mötley CrÜe - "If I Die Tomorrow": n/a Papa Roach - "Getting Away With Murder": A- Velvet Revolver - "Fall to Pieces": B- Nickelback - "Because of You": B- Sumersed - "Hollow": nfe Sevendust - "Face to Face": B Earshot - "Someone": B+ Judas Priest - "Revolution": n/a Shadows Fall - "What Drives the Weak": n/a Collective Soul - "Counting the Days": B Spiderbait - "Black Betty": n/a Black Label Society - "Suicide Messiah": n/a Candiria - "Down": n/a Nonpoint - "In the Air Tonight": n/a Megadeth - "Of Mice and Men": n/a Skindred - "Pressure": n/a Cradle of Filth - "Nymphetamine": n/a Lamb of God - "Laid to Rest": n/a Future Leaders of the World - "Everyday": n/a Theory of a Dead Man - "No Surprise: C (i'm disappointed that the song isn't unintentionally funny like their first two singles.) Crazy Anglos - "Fade": n/a Damageplan - "Soul Bleed": n/a Prom Kings - "Alone": n/a Copper - "Turn": n/a
Triple A
Snow Patrol- "Run": A- (this just keeps getting better. At least it's still on some chart.) Shore- "Hard Road" Ray Lamontagne- "Trouble" R.E.M.- "Aftermath" Tori Amos- "Sleeps With Butterflies" Ray Charles f/ Van Morrison- "Crazy Love" Madeleine Peyroux- "Don't Wait Too Long": n/a (I can see Madeleine Peyroux obviously being the next big pop crossover though, with a name like that and all...) Mark Knopfler- "Boom Like That" Blue Merie- "Burning In the Sun" Mick Jagger & Dave Stewart f/ Sheryl Crow- "Old Habits Die Hard" Jackson Browne w/ Bonnie Raitt- "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" Kenny Wayne Shepard- "Let Go" Bruce Hornsby- "Circus On the Moon" Norah Jones- "Those Sweet Words" Sarah McLachlan- "World On Fire": B- Jamie Cullum- "High And Dry": n/a (what's this guy think he's doing, anyway; is his album just like Mandy Moore's Coverage album?) Wilco- "Theologians"
(substitute "n/a"'s for all the blanks.) AC
Los Lonely Boys- "Heaven": B+ Keith Urban- "You'll Think of Me": n/a Martina McBride- "In My Daughter's Eyes": n/a Five For Fighting- "100 Years": C- Phil Collins- "Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away": n/a Hall & Oates- "I'll Be Around": n/a Tim McGraw- "Live Like You Were Dying: n/a Maroon 5- "This Love": A- Maroon 5- "She Will be Loved": B+ Hoobastank- "The Reason" B (seriously...aside from being a little lifeless, there's nothing wrong with this song. Except for that ridiculous and totally unnecessary AC edit that was made for it.) Elton John- "Answer In The Sky": n/a Michael McDonald- "Reach Out, I'll Be There": n/a Rod Stewart f/ Stevie Wonder- "What A Wonderful World": n/a (but one thing's always for sure about the AC chart is that you can always find some competely pointless remake of a classic contemporary hit that everyone knows, during any given week.) Kenny G. f/ Earth, Wind & Fire- "The Way You Move" n/a (I'll have to see it to believe it. I can see Kenny playin' the tune on the sax, but I'm not so sure EWF can really rap like Big Boi.) CHR/Pop
Mario- "Let Me Love You" A- (but higher than I ever thought I'd give a song by this guy.) Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" B- Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be" B (True, it isn't #1-worthy, but I'll take it.) Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul" C- Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over" B- (Wow, this looks like it could fall below #20 before reaching 20 weeks, which would be hilarious considering the song spent 8 weeks at #1.) Destiny's Child- "Soldier" F (Absolutely no redeeming factors here.) Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone" B- Ryan Cabrera- "True" B Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" A (Close to A+ status... give it another 10 weeks or so.) Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot" A- (So... what are the right reasons for liking this? Just curious.) Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" B Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Ursher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends" B+ Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore" B ("But why is this still bulleted? I was expecting this to last no more than several weeks in the top 50." Yeah, I know. Hasn't this outpeaked "Breaking the Habit"?) Advil Ravine- "Nobody's Home" A- Eminem- "Mockingboyd" A- (His best since "Lose Yourself", but since I stupidly never put that song in my top 10, it's his biggest-ever hit on my chart.) Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo" D ("Those high-pitched humming sounds every few seconds are annoying. An the lyrics are dumb, too." Agree on both counts.) Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl" C+ Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath" C John Mayer- "Daughters" C Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live" B- Maroon 5- "Sunday Morning" B+ Usher- "Caught Up" B Jennifer Lopez- "Get Right" D- (J. Lo, consider yourself lucky that I have successfully avoided this enough for me to give it an F.) Lenny Kravitz- "Lady" C- Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- "Wonderful" C+ Eminem f/ Dr. Dre- "Encore" C+ Ashanti- "Only U" C+ (I haven't really heard this a whole lot.) Ashlee Simpson- "La La" F (just... no.) Trick Daddy- "Let's Go" B Fiddy Cent- "Disco Inferno" C- Simple Pain- "Welcome To My Life" C- (I suppose it isn't their worst song.) Jojo- "Baby It's You" D (Jojo, you seem intelligent for a 14-year-old, but it doesn't come across in your songs.) Nelly- "N Dey Sey" B- (I can't figure out if I like it ironically or seriously.) Ludacris- "Get Back" B- (Still a bit disappointing from Luda though.) Alicia Keys- "Karma" C (The second half of the chorus is annoying -- the "who's cry-in', de-si-rin' to come back" part. My least favorite single of hers yet.) Frankie J. f/ Baby Bash- "Obsession" B+ Bowling For Soup- "Almost" nfe (I heard a clip of it once, and immediately tried to forget about it.) Eminem- "Just Lose It" B- 3 Doors Down- "Let Me Go" B (Slowly, but surely, I'm warming up to it.) The Game f/ 50 Cent- "How We Do" C+ U2- "Vertigo" A- (Burnout) Eminem- "Like Toy Soldiers" C- (A boring rap, and an entirely lifted chorus. I know you're better than that, Em.) Chingy- "Balla Baby" C Tyler Hilton- "When It Comes" C- (Yaaaawn.) Goo Goo Dolls- "Give A Little Bit" B Lindsay Lohan- "Over" nfe (heard part of it once) Jet- "Look What You've Done" C+ Keane- "Somewhere Only We Know" C+ (I'm still not crazy about it, but this is up from a C- 3 months ago.) Hoobastank- "Disappear" B ("This has gotten old pretty fast." Yeah.) N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee- "Oye Mi Caunto" C+ (Wow, this is still on the chart?)
AC [Took out "nh"s (character limit)]
Los Lonely Boys- "Heaven" B- Five For Fighting- "100 Years" B Tim McGraw- "Live Like You Were Dying B Maroon 5- "This Love" A- Maroon 5- "She Will Be Loved" B- Hoobastank- "The Reason" B- Elton John- "Answer In The Sky" C+ Kenny G. f/ Earth, Wind & Fire- "The Way You Move" C Shania Twain w/ Mark McGrath- "Party For Two" D (and that was on one listen a few months ago.) John Mellencamp- "Walk Tall" C Finger Eleven- "One Thing" A- (rofl @ this song being on the chart)

Ingram Hill- "Will I Ever Make It Home" nh Aslyan- "Be The Girl" nh Calling- "Anything" nh (I guess I quit caring about the band after "Our Lives" fell off the face of the earth.) Los Lonely Boys- "More Than Love" B- Duran Duran- "What Happens Tommorow" nh Rachel Yamagata- "Worn Me Down" C- (and still room to decline if VH1 decides to play this more) Joss Stone- "Right To Be Wrong" B (My favorite single of hers.) CHR/Pop
Mario- "Let Me Love You" D+ (For the most part, I avoid having to hear this... but it's not too offensive, just incredibly boring and bland.) Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" C Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be" B Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul" B (As cheesy as it is, it's nice to have a true Pop song on the radio.) Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over" D- (If I hear this song one more time, I might stab myself in the eye with a fork.) Destiny's Child- "Soldier" F Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone" B+ Ryan Cabrera- "True" A- Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" A (Great f*cking song.) Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot" F Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" B Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Ursher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends" B Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore" C+ Avril Lavigne- "Nobody's Home" A- (Should have peaked much higher than it did.) Eminem- "Mockingboyd" B+ (Whoever called this song Hailie's Song Pt. 2 hit the nail on the head.) Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo" F+ ("I don't know about ya'll but I know about us and, uh, it's the only way we know how to rock." Stupid, crappy song.) Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl" C+ Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath" C (About 100x more bearable than Soldier.) John Mayer- "Daughters" C+ Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live" D+ (As a song, it's awful. But I love it nonetheless.) CHR/Pop
Mario- "Let Me Love You" B+ Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" A- (Never thought in a million years that I'd give a Ciara track an A, but I'm really feeling this one.) Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be" A- (But if radio doesn't drop it soon, it's going down to a B.) Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul" A Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over" B+ Destiny's Child- "Soldier" C+ (I don't even want to know what half of those lyrics mean..."We like low cut caesar's..." WTF?) Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone" B+ Ryan Cabrera- "True" B- Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" A+ Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot" A Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" B- (Can we say BURNOUT?) Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Usher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends" B+ (Interesting, to say the least. You've got Usher trying to give it his signature R&B touch, Luda trying to be taken seriously but his rap is just silly, and Lil Jon screaming all over the place, completely destroying the vibe. I still like it though.) Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore" B+ (I figured this would pull a Work It Remix or something. Glad it's done well on the CHR chart.) Advil Ravine- "Nobody's Home" C+ Eminem- "Mockingbord" B Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo" B- (Time for this one to go.) Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl" C+ (The Louchie Lou & Michie One original was infinitely better.) Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath" B+ John Mayer- "Daughters" F+ (It's just BAD. I will never understand how this managed to be nominated for Song Of The Year. It's pretentious, whiny, and straight up SUCKY.) Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live" C+ Maroon 5- "Sunday Morning" B+ (On one hand, I'm a little tired of Maroon 5. But this should be doing better, it's a great song and does deserve it.) Usher- "Caught Up" B+ Jennifer Lopez- "Get Right" B- (That baby singing at the end killed it.) Lenny Kravitz- "Lady" B- Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- "Wonderful" D+ (I was actually feeling this for a while, but now I realize how stupid it is. No wonder it's among the songs losing the most spins at CHR as we speak.) Eminem f/ Dr. Dre & 50 Cent- "Encore" B- Ashanti- "Only U" C+ Ashlee Simpson- "La La" C+ (Orange Bowl performance and SNL aside, this may have been her best release. Naturally, because radio now has a stigma towards Ashlee, it was dumped.) Trick Daddy- "Let's Go" B+ 50 Cent- Disco Inferno" C+ (It's a grower for sure. But I hope Candy Shop does every bit as well as this.) Simple Pain- "Welcome To My Life" F (Pretentious, corny and totally horrendous. Props for being relatable, but it's obvious that they're just singing to the TRL audience and they could not have gone about discussing this subject matter in a more pathetic way.) Jojo- "Baby It's You" C- (That's for the Bow Wow-less version...the Bow Wow remix brings it down a full letter grade.) Nelly- "N Dey Sey" B Ludacris- "Get Back" B+ Alicia Keys- "Karma" A Frankie J. f/ Baby Bash- "Obsession" B (It's kinda bland, but I like it nonetheless. Kinda like Suga Suga, not sure where the appeal is coming from and why it's blowing up the way it is...but it is and I like it.) Bowling For Soup- "Almost" D- (Enough already.) Eminem- "Just Lose It" D+ 3 Doors Down- "Let Me Go" B- The Game f/ 50 Cent- "How We Do" B U2- "Vertigo" F (I'll probably get banned for saying that, LOL, but it's just annoying. Everytime I hear that frickin' guitar riff...they may as well run a promo before the song asking me to change the station.) Eminem- "Like Toy Soldiers" A- (My favorite single he's released thus far. Hopefully it can mirror the success of Mockingbird and not get lost in the shuffle.) Chingy- "Balla Baby" F+ (Do I even need to elaborate?) Tyler Hilton- "When It Comes" C- (He sounds eerily like Rod Stewart. That said, it's not absolutely horrible.) Goo Goo Dolls- "Give A Little Bit" C- Lindsay Lohan- "Over" nfe Jet- "Look What You've Done" B- Keane- "Somewhere Only We Know" B- Hoobastank- "Disappear" B- N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee- "Oye Mi Canto" A- (I've actually grown to enjoy reggaeton music over the last month or two, and this is one of my favorites.)
HOT AC
Switchfoot- "Dare You To Move" Ryan Cabrera- "On The Way Down" B+ Howie Day- "Collide" B (Am I the only one reminded of "Run" by Collective Soul when I hear this?) Bowling For Soup- "1985" B- Killers- "Somebody Told Me" A Linkin Park- "Breaking The Habit" C+ rest are n/a or already mentioned.
CHR/RHYTHMIC
T.I.- "Bring 'Em Out" B Daddy Yankee- "Gasolina" A- Lloyd Banks- "Karma" n/a Terror Squad- "Lean Back" B+ Mariah Carey- "It's Like That" B 50 Cent- "Candy Shop" B+ Natalie- "Goin' Crazy" B- Omarion- "O" D- Twista f/ Faith Evans- "Hope" D+ Nivea f/ Lil' Jon & Youngbloodz- "Okay" D+ Young Buck- "Shorty Wanna Ride" C+ Lil' Wayne- "Go DJ" F rest are n/a

Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot": A (I'm sure the children at Mega's school like the song for all the wrong reasons and they'll ultimately end up becoming failures in life.)I still wanna know what the wrong reasons are. .. and what are the right reasons?

I just can't stand it when people try to improve their status quo by borrowing one-dimentional catch phrases from songs (or any form of pop culture, for that matter), and repeating them ad-nauseum in front of their friends. For lack of a better term, it's just stupid.
I see stuff like that happening, and I'm thinking, "Do you really think you're just as good as Snoop Dogg? I mean, Wow, you know how to take a phrase that someone else infinitely more popular than you wrote...and say those exact same words yourself!"

Oh yeah, lol. The scientific bar chart was classic.
I mean, I've never watched Dave Chapelle's show, but I have seen a 1000 people try to say that he or she is Rick James, bitch. But that's all I ever hear when people talk about his show. I can't help but to think there has to be more to his program than that.

Well, the same thing happened at my school with a bunch of smartass kids in my gym class and Usher's "Yeah", and Lil' Jon in general. For an hour-and-a-half kids would shout Jon's triumverate of catch phrases. It annoyed me to no end, compounded moreso by the fact that at the time I hated the song. I'm sure I've mentioned this a few times before, but I can definitely relate with what Mega's going through.

CHR/Pop Mario- "Let Me Love You" C, just as long as I don't have to hear it again Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- "1, 2 Step" F Gavin Degraw- "I Don't Wanna Be" C- (Pshaw, wouldn't it be nice if we could all be rewarded for mediocrity like this?) Jesse McCartney- "Beautiful Soul" D (I've only heard this, but judging by it I wonder if he's ever had an original thought in his life) Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- "Over and Over" D Destiny's Child- "Soldier" F- (Oh my gawd... don't even.) Kelly Clarkson- "Since U Been Gone" F- Ryan Cabrera- "True" F Green Day- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" B- Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- "Drop It Like It's Hot" D (I never thought something like this would start growing on me) Kelly Clarkson- "Breakaway" B+ Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz f/ Ursher & Ludacris- "Lovers And Friends" F[/coolor] Jay-Z & Linkin Park- "Numb/Encore" D (This was tolerable at first but don't push your luck. The only band that it works to hear "how the hell" or "what the hell" at the beginning of a song that's played multiple times every hour is Nickelback, and that's because they're unintentionally hilarious. This, on the other hand, is unintentionally horrible.) Avril Lavigne- "Nobody's Home" B- Eminem- "Mockingboyd" B- Usher & Alicia Keys- "My Boo" F- (Somebody yank their vocal cords out already; Usher never deserved to have them, Alicia Keys had about a gazillion chances and she blew them all.) Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- "Rich Girl" F Destiny's Child- "Lose My Breath" F- John Mayer- "Daughters" F- (What was he thinking. Oh wait, I know... 'hit.' But it would have been nice if he took my ears into consideration) Good Charlotte- "I Just Wanna Live" C- for now Maroon 5- "Sunday Morning" B (but starting to wear on me, comparing themselves to trees is getting annoying) Usher- "Caught Up" nh but probably F Jennifer Lopez- "Get Right" D+ Lenny Kravitz- "Lady" F- Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- "Wonderful" F- Eminem f/ Dr. Dre- "Encore" D Ashanti- "Only U" nh/dr Ashlee Simpson- "La La" B (He makes her wanna la la all over the kitchen floor, I gotta give her credit for that) Trick Daddy- "Let's Go" F+ Fiddy Cent- "Disco Inferno" F Simple Pain- "Welcome To My Life" F- (How did I know they were going to do something like this.) Jojo- "Baby It's You" F Nelly- "N Dey Sey" B+ (Along the lines of 'Hot in Herre,' dorky enough to be unintentionally hilarious) Ludacris- "Get Back" D+ Alicia Keys- "Karma" F- (Okay, this is proof that she needs to be out of the music biz for good. It's barely February and we already have our frontrunner for worst song of the year. This is what happens when everything that could possibly go wrong with a song that never could have gone right to begin with, does.) Frankie J. f/ Baby Bash- "Obsession" nh/dr Bowling For Soup- "Almost" C- for now Eminem- "Just Lose It" F- 3 Doors Down- "Let Me Go" C- (This sounds like... everything else by these guys) The Game f/ 50 Cent- "How We Do" nh/dr U2- "Vertigo" B- Eminem- "Like Toy Soldiers" B Chingy- "Balla Baby" F Tyler Hilton- "When It Comes" nh but what the hell is this Goo Goo Dolls- "Give A Little Bit" B- Lindsay Lohan- "Over" nh/dr Jet- "Look What You've Done" B Keane- "Somewhere Only We Know" B- Hoobastank- "Disappear" B (infinitely more tolerable than their previous disaster but I have a feeling it will wear way fast) N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee- "Oye Mi Caunto" F+
AC Los Lonely Boys- "Heaven" B- Keith Urban- "You'll Think of Me" D+ (ZzZzZzZzZzZzZz.) Martina McBride- "In My Daughter's Eyes" nh/dwt Five For Fighting- "100 Years" A+ (A great song, but it's time for it to go.) Phil Collins- "Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away" C (What the hell is this and why the hell didn't I grade it lower.) Hall & Oates- "I'll Be Around nh/dr Tim McGraw- "Live Like You Were Dying D Maroon 5- "This Love" B+ Maroon 5- "She Will Be Loved" F- (Now what the hell is this doing here. I can't imagine that many 60 year olds, or others for that matter, would want to hear a dude who sounds like he's 12 sing about a beauty queen of only 18, but whatever.] Hoobastank- "The Reason" F- Elton John- "Answer In The Sky" B+ Michael McDonald- "Reach Out, I'll Be There" nh/dr Rod Stewart f/ Stevie Wonder- "What A Wonderful World" D (There's no reason why this ever needed to exist; hopefully its chart run will follow) Kenny G. f/ Earth, Wind & Fire- "The Way You Move" nh/dr but what crash46 said. Shania Twain w/ Mark McGrath- "Party For Two" F Katrina Carlson- "Drive" nh/dr Tina Turner- "Open Arms" nh/dr Celine Dion- "Beautiful Boy" nh/dwt Jim Brickman f/ Roch Voisine- "My Love Is Here" nh/dr Lionel Richie- "Long Long Way To Go" nh/dr Richard Marx- "Ready To Fly" B- (I think he should change his name, it sounds so... afro-1972-ish) Ray Charles f/ Diana Krall- "You Don't Know Me" B+ Simply Red- "Home" A Josh Groban- "Believe" nh/dr John Mellencamp- "Walk Tall" C Finger Eleven- "One Thing" B+
Hot AC Switchfoot- "Dare You To Move" D Ryan Cabrera- "On The Way Down" B Howie Day- "Collide" A Bowling For Soup- "1985" A- Killers- "Somebody Told Me" A- Anna Nalick- "Breathe (2AM)" B Low Millions- "Eleanor" B Ingram Hill- "Will I Ever Make It Home" B- Aslyn- "Be The Girl" nh/dr Calling- "Anything" B (but a little less genericity would be nice) Los Lonely Boys- "More Than Love" B- Duran Duran- "What Happens Tomorow" A- (better than "Sunrise" but in 3 months nobody will remember it) Rachel Yamagata- "Worn Me Down" F Joss Stone- "Right To Be Wrong" B Linkin Park- "Breaking The Habit" B+ Mindy Smith- "Come To Jesus" A- Duran Duran- "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" B+

Man, somebody has too much time on their hands, creating a website to diss people for quoting phrases from popular shows? Those shows exist to be quoted, they count on that to remain popular. What a dork.

What a dork. Well, he didn't create that website just to diss people who quote phrases from TV shows, he created it to diss everyone. That being said, even though I haven't usually cared for what he says, that's definitely one of his better essays.
