Wow, you're right.
I was just thinking this was a really fair assessment which includes artists of many different genres. I could never do this list...I'm too biased.
But Buckcherry in the top 50 worst? Come on. Where's your rawkfist when you need to throw it up? ;) (I agree with the rest of the list, though.)

I feel I should clarify that Sean Paul's original "Give It Up to Me," the version from his album, is fine; I enjoy it. It's the version I heard the first 10 or so times (and the last time I heard it on the radio, which was when I went "home" for Thanksgiving. I guess my former pop station never bothered to play the new version).
Then I heard the version with Keyshia Cole tacked on, needlessly, for the Step Up soundtrack. And her vocal contribution feels forced and irritates the piss out of me. Moreover, they put her voice in (for the most part) in place of this twinkling bell effect that made a mediocre song into a decent one. I hadn't remembered that until that last time I heard the original.

I modified the "worst" list: I accidentally left a couple off, and then I happened to hear Hinder's "Get Stoned" for the first time in 6 months, so on it goes.
("...'Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me.")
Excuse me, but I don't know of any woman who'd have sex with her man while she's mad at him. Asshat!
And for what it's worth...neither "honey," nor "my girl" are still dating Austin Winkler. Maybe they wised up.

I'm sorry, I found a glaring mistake:
12. Lil Jon featuring E-40 & Sean Paul of YoungBloodZ “Snap Yo Fingers”
You accidentally put a "2" at the end. Make sure you try to clear these up next time.

I agree with jdmasta , I LOVE your worst list , great that you mentioned these horrendous country songs , but Trace Adkins is missing. "Swing" was kind of bad, but not bad enough to even be considered for the list. I actually enjoy "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," even though I completely understand why anyone would say that's a cheesy, stupid song. I dunno, for the most part, I tend to root for Trace Adkins for some reason. And I can't recall offhand any other singles he had this year. I'm sorry, I found a glaring mistake: 12. Lil Jon featuring E-40 & Sean Paul of YoungBloodZ “Snap Yo Fingers” You accidentally put a "2" at the end. Make sure you try to clear these up next time. Ha! Yeah, I wish I could've made that the worst song of the year. That was such a slow-burning year-long hit, I never seemed to stop hearing that annoying, dumbass "song." (Honestly, does that even qualify as music?) And the damn album still isn't out yet!

I was gonna make a top 20 worst of list until I realized I could only think of 5:
1. Panic! At The Disco - I Write Sins, Not Tradegies 2. Lil' Jon featuring E-40 & Sean Paul of YoungBloodZ - Snap Yo Fingers 3. She Wants Revenge - Tear You Apart 4. INXS - Pretty Vegas 5. Buckcherry - Crazy Bitch
And an honourable mention to The Killers - When You Were Wrong.
I've been hearing Snap Yo Fingers constantly for the past 6 months, but I've been hearing P!ATD constantly for even longer, so it gets my vote.

I just get to sneak this in, but I have to modify my 50 worst songs list (again!). I happened to actually listen to Webstar's "Chicken Noodle Soup" when it came on Launch, as opposed to ignoring it every time it came on BET last summer, because I didn't think I was going to have to acknowledge the existence of something with such a dumbass title. It actually got a little buzz this fall, thus forcing me to acknowledge its existence. Since then, this was the first opportunity I had to listen to it. Goddamn mind-numbing novelty song...

And here's my Top 40 Albums of 2006:
40. Nelly Furtado – Loose 39. The Flaming Lips – At War with the Mystics 38. Underworld: Evolution soundtrack 37. Gwen Stefani – The Sweet Escape 36. She Wants Revenge 35. Gnarls Barkley – St. Elsewhere 34. Hatebreed – Supremacy 33. Killswitch Engage – As Daylight Dies 32. Ministry – Rio Grande Blood 31. Korn – See You on the Other Side [2005: #45] 30. Pharrell – In My Mind 29. Mastodon – Blood Mountain 28. Matchbook Romance – Voices 27. Prince – 3121 26. Panic! at the Disco – A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out 25. Sneath (Demo) 24. Fort Minor – The Rising Tied 23. From First to Last – Heroine 22. Papa Roach – The Paramour Sessions 21. (+44) – When Your Heart Stops Beating 20. The Killers – Sam’s Town 19. Evanescence – The Open Door 18. Tenacious D – The Pick of Destiny 17. Clipse – Hell Hath No Fury 16. Lupe Fiasco – Food & Liquor 15. Justin Timberlake – FutureSex/LoveSounds 14. Deftones – Saturday Night Wrist 13. The Dresden Dolls – Yes, Virginia… 12. Madonna – Confessions on a Dance Floor [2005: #22] 11. 30 Seconds to Mars – A Beautiful Lie [2005: #11] 10. Muse – Black Holes and Revelations 09. Eighteen Visions 08. Tool – 10,000 Days 07. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Stadium Arcadium 06. Atreyu – A Death-Grip on Yesterday 05. Bleeding Through – The Truth 04. Lostprophets – Liberation Transmission 03. My Chemical Romance – The Black Parade 02. AFI - Decemberunderground 01. Avenged Sevenfold – City of Evil [2005: #1]
I realize it may be unfair to put the same album at #1 for two years in a row, but City of Evil and the success of its singles came at the perfect time: I count albums for a second year if more than 51% of their singles (usually it ends up being 2/3 or 3/4) are released the year after the album drops.
Bleeding Through and Atreyu were really hard to compare, but I gave the edge to Bleeding Through because it feels like their album was a step up in overall quality, whereas Atreyu's isn't quite as sharp as their previous two. And I hate putting the Chili Peppers and Tool so far down, but what can you do when so many of your favorite bands put out top-notch albums? (It's especially disheartening for Tool because Ænima is my favorite album of all-time and Lateralus was my #1 album for 2001.
Muse, everyone's "it" band of the moment, makes a surprise showing in the Top 10. Toward the end of the year, I had to avalanche myself with 2006 albums I hadn't listened to yet, and while I'm very familiar with Tenacious D by now, I haven't officially ranked the songs yet. I managed to get in one listen each for Fort Minor, Hatebreed, She Wants Revenge, the Flaming Lips, and Nelly Furtado. I was still in the familiarization process with Killswitch and Mastodon before I had to move on to those.
Anyway, I've already made up my Top 256 songs, Top 100 singles, and 5 Top 20's for under-represented formats. But I'm way too tired to put up any of those, so albums looked pretty easy to put up tonight. I have a lot of free time this week, so hopefully I'll get those up and the rest of them made.

I liked most of the 'N Sync singles as good, quality pop songs, so those set the stage for his solo career. I liked the singles from his first album (but especially "Rock Your Body" and "Cry Me a River") enough to buy it eventually. Honestly, how can you go wrong with a record that's mostly half-Neptunes/half-Timbaland?
This year, "SexyBack" blew me away with how far Justin could go out on a limb with the sounds of conventional pop music (I mean, the biggest male pop singer of the last few years returns with a single where his vocals are distorted, for crying out loud) and still get a smash hit out of it. "My Love" is even better; both songs are Timbaland bringing his A-game. This album's even better than the first one. And Justin's just a charismatic, likeable guy.

I had to modify my Top albums list. I noticed I was breaking my own rule: I had System of a Down's Hypnotize in at #25, mentioning that it was #21 last year. Well, I don't count albums for a second year if they're gonna end up lower on the chart.
So 26-40 get moved up and I added in Underoath's Define the Great Line at #40. That's really the last album I can count toward this year that I was able to listen to in time. I guess I could put in my skimming of my burned copy of Punk Goes 90's even lower, only because I know the source music so well. I'm glad I didn't waste my money on that, only getting the Bleeding Through and Eighteen Visions tracks I wanted.

Um, that's why it's coming in last. Was the explanation not clear? If I only listened to 40 albums that I can count toward this year, that's what's gonna be #40.

I guess that explains why Gwen Stefani's crap album is on there.

I guess that explains why Gwen Stefani's crap decent album is on there. Anyway, it's all moot now, since I realized I forgot the 4-song demo that my homies in Sneath put out this year. It goes in where Hypnotize was, therefore everything gets moved back one to where it all had been, and Underoath gets forced back off. Here are my favorite 100 albums that I heard in '06; that is, the Top 40 albums with all the older stuff from my collection that I (finally) familiarized myself with this past year. Albums of all-time (without listening to any, which would make the process longer) is seemingly more of a bitch to make than last year, which is only compounded by the fact that I have jobs now, as opposed to a year ago. Hopefully I'll make a lyric game out of my favorite songs of all-time, whenever that's ready.

Here it is, at long last, in all of its glory. This was an even more thorough process than making it last year, in an effort to maximize accuracy (which tends to be kind of arbitrary anyway, I found out, the further down it goes). It took me so many countless hours to assemble that I doubt I'll be continuing it annually anymore. (Several records that wound up surprisingly high last year took abrupt nose dives, for some reason.)

That's a nice chart you've got there. There are quite a bit of albums that overlap from my list. These all appeared on the one that I recently made (and posted): 94. 100. Beck – Odelay [#38] --- 98. Fugees (Refugee Camp) – The Score [#23] 51. 91. Moby – Play [2001: #3, #39] 79. 88. Foo Fighters – The Colour and the Shape [#36] 85. 73. New Order – Substance [#48] 65. 62. Nirvana – Nevermind [#13] 29. 49. Depeche Mode – The Singles 86>98 [2000: #10, #18] 18. 45. Garbage – Beautiful Garbage [2001: #5, #18] 37. 44. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Blood Sugar Sex Magik [#10] 49. 36. Depeche Mode – Violator [#16] 25. 35. Korn – Follow the Leader [1998: #7, #7] 39. 33. Stone Temple Pilots – Purple [#20] 17. 30. Nine Inch Nails – The Downward Spiral [#7] 30. 28. Nine Inch Nails – Pretty Hate Machine [#23] --- 21. AFI – Decemberunderground [2006: #2] 15. 18. Nine Inch Nails – The Fragile [1999: #1, #14] 19. 17. Madonna – Ray of Light [1999: #12, #17] 33. 16. Red Hot Chili Peppers – By the Way [2002: #1, #16] 09. 14. Tool – Lateralus [2001: #1, #9] 13. 13. Garbage – Version 2.0 [1998: #2, #8] 08. 09. Garbage [#2] 07. 06. Rancid – …And Out Come the Wolves [#6] 02. 02. AFI – Sing the Sorrow [2003: #1, #2] 01. 01. Tool – Ænima [#1 (8 years)] Well, quite a bit is a much better statement than "a lot" since it's only 24/100, but 3 of my top 5 all-time albums are there. They're all in the Top 40, too. :) Even if The Bends is among the fallen on there . As for others I am at this point familiar with: I haven't actually listened to MCR that much in awhile. I recently familiarized myself with the two AFI entries quoted, and those are also incredible records. American Idiot is actually excellent, even if I felt it was overhyped at the time. It's my second favorite Green Day album, right behind Warning: for me. It's been long since the release of White Pony and can now forgive the fact that four versions were released, and since I've seen stores in my city that still sell the GRAY version, I've given it more of a chance and there are some songs I really love from there. I also love the two Rancid albums, the Korn albums (my 3 favorites appeared here), Vapor Transmission, 13 Ways[/b], ATF, Core, APC, blink's s/t, Manson's entry, RATM, LPS's 2nd album and the Madonna albums. The others have some quality stuff in it, too.
