Earlier during the summer, Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett rose to #1 together with the smash country hit "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere", one of this year's biggest country hits.
Jimmy Buffett, who had never scored a #1 hit before on any format, finally accomplished this feat, despite aleady having a bunch of songs that weren't exactly huge hits upon the time of their release but word of mouth have transformed them into "songs you know by heart". In addition, despite not having a big hit in years, Jimmy Buffett continues to be a cult favorite, with each of his albums shipped to at least gold status.
Now, the #1 most loved Parrothead has recently headed into the studio to record his first "country" album, tentatively titled "Conchy Tonk", which will likely come out in spring of 2004.
Do you think that Jimmy Buffett can dominate the country airwaves next year and take off where "I5OS" took him? If you have any other news regarding his latest move, please share also! :)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I don't think he'll get a lot of love from country radio, but I could be wrong.
"It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" would have gone to #1 even if he weren't on the song, so I don't know that he'll benefit a lot from it.
I could see him getting a couple of songs that flounder around in the 40-60 range on the chart for a few months.
