I know its only 1 spin, but what do u think? I think a CHR/Pop station took the liberty of playing the song for the hell of it. I think I'm starting to get annoyed when people make a topic because a song has been played once on the radio. I mean, come on, 1 spin does not necessarily mean that every station in the country has added the song. For all you know, some DJ at 2 in the morning in a somewhat small market got bored, and decided to play one of his favorite album cuts from the CD. It really doesn't mean anything no matter how you try and look at it. I didn't see that jae and radiorules already addressed this, but yeah, I'm in agreement with you guys.

I'd love a sixth single, seventh, eighth... and I really don't think it would hurt her either. Her fifth single is doing really well. People who hate her will hate her and people who like her will like her. I don't think people feel that Christina is overexposed. "Cruz," "Get Mine, Get Yours," and "Impossible" [despite not really liking it] would all make good single choices. I really feel that the label would only consider a sixth single if "The Voice Within" went Top 5. It's for those reasons that I point to Rhythm Nation. When State of the Nation (or was it World?) didn't fare as well as the ones before it, that was it for the album. So if The Voice Within doesn't go Top 5, then this is likely the end for Stripped.

Boy am i glad no one here are record executives at RCA Records. The smartest move for Christina will be to wrap up her album after this single and then release something like a soundtrack single or a collaboration later on this year (like how she did with NWTBL and LM) and release a new album in the fall of 2005. John McEnroe mode on You Can't Be Serious! John McEnroe mode off Really, one of the reasons in my opinion that record sales dwindle so badly is that they don't release enough singles. They are only looking for record sales now, and not long term. I'm wondering what Thriller would have sold if only 3 songs had been released from it? You look at all the biggest selling albums of all time and it is not uncommon to see 6 or even 7 releases off of them. They keep selling because people see all those hits on just one album and feel they are getting their money's worth.

If Christina released 7 or 8 singles off of "Stripped", do you honestly think this is going to help her record sales? I can see it now
Someone is in a record store and is looking at CD's, they come across "Stripped", on the tag it says "Including the hit singles Beautiful, Fighter, Can't Hold Us Down, The Voice Within, Cruz, Impossible, and Dirrty", and the person goes "What's the point of buying this CD when i have already heard all of these songs being played to death on my local radio station? I am not going to buy this CD just so i can hear 5 new songs i have never heard before, which probably suck since they decided not to release them but release everything else".

well considering Stripped has almost double the usual 10-12 songs on it, no sane person would ever think that. i don't think anyone would think ANYWAY even if the album was only 10-12 songs - all you hear these days is people complaining that albums have one or two decent songs used as singles, to sell the albums which are full of filler. the more singles you have, the more evidence you're giving against that being the case.
Stripped just went up to #13 in the UK, and will probably keep rising in the US. the reasons supporting a sixth single are piling up.

Feel free to ignore history. I know the record execs do. Are you actually happy with the way record executives operate today? They are what is killing the business.

I know for a fact that I would definately buy Stripped or Justified because they have so many hit singles on them. I think the record company would be stupid to stop releasing singles off Christina's album especially since they have been doing so well.

I think they were stupid for not releasing anymore singles from "Let Go" by Avril. "Things I'll Never Say" or "My World" could have been big hits.

Oh, and whoever said Arista was stupid for not releasing more singles off of "Let Go" needs to realize that no record company is going to release a 5th single after the 4th one peaked at #66 on the Hot 100.

I just said that to piss you off and compared to her other efforts it could be considered a flop. Stalling in the 30's is a flop for any artist who's a hit artist. Its not quite low enough to convince me to stop releasing singles altogether.

I think 'Let Go' could have released another single. The success of 'Losing Grip' was enough to warrent at least another chance from the CD, but unlike Christina, Avril was alittle more being overdone and stuff with radio and charts. Christina is kinda "just there", quietly, not so in your face.
