17 y/r singer/songwriter Katy Rose is amazing! Her album is wonderful- her lyrics are deep and fresh. Honest, yet usually sarcastic. The tracks are catchy, and most are different and have a great energy. I love it! The album has gotten some really good reviews, esp. from Blender, Voxonline, Entertainment Weekly, and the NewYork Post. And even the not so great reviews admit this girl is talented and has potential.
I don't get how anyone can compare her to Avril at all- esp. after listening to this music. I don't understand why ppl aren't responding to her? ???

She released a song where she says "I need a shower when I look at you/Ya sting and hurt like a bad tatoo" And she looks about 13 years old and trying to be a hooker in her video. I mean, maybe she has better songs, that show her talent. But the video and that song do nothing to make me want to hear them Give me a good song to download by her that has better lyrics than that and Ill give her a chance

Yeah, but that was ONE line. IMO, there are a lot of great lines in that song...I dunno why ppl focus on 1 sucky one(or 2, actually, considering "la-la-le-lo-lo-lo-lace",lol).
And my favs. on the album are "I Like", "Catch My Fall", "Snowflakes", "Vacation", "Glow", "Lemon" , "Original Skin"and "Because I Can".
And I buy her look in the video- if you read any interview with her you'll see she's def. not innocent at all in real life, lol.

I've heard "Overdrive"... sounds alright. I can tell the Avril influence in her sound.

Her album was recorded WAY before Avril's came out.

Whether she is innocent or not in real life, she still looks like a 13 year old playing dress up as a hooker I dont know, her image just does not gel to me. Maybe I am prejudging her however.

"Overdrive" is pretty good. I'd expect her to have some other good songs.

Have you heard of Angela Ammons? She came out before Avril and she's dope!

Yeah, but that was ONE line. But all her lines are that bad. She is horrible and she has no business being on my radio, let alone this planet, if she is going to make that kind of musicnoise. How about the entire chorus of "Overdrive": YEAHAHAHAHAH I'M INDEPENDENCE YEAHAHAHAHAH I'M BORDERLINE YEAHAHAHAHAH I'M CALIFORNIA MY MIND'S ALL SCREWED AND UPSIDE DOWN BUT MY HEART'S ON OVERDRIVE YEAH MY HEART'S ON OVERDRIVE And on top of that, she sounds like she is having a seizure all over her guitar. I listened to her entire CD at Tower Records just to see if there was any speck of worthwhileness in her and there is not. The average grade of all her songs is an [red]F-[/red].

the yound femal singer/songwirter era is over... it's back to young dumb blond pop stars (e.g., Britney, Jessica, Hillary)

Angela Ammons is so underrated, she could've been huge, possibly as big as Avril, well maybe that's pushing it a bit, but still I've heard a few of her songs and they're great for radio! As for Katy Rose, I haven't heard her music.

Have you heard of Angela Ammons? She came out before Avril and she's dope! I really like her, but she's nothing like Avril. I think why she may not have done as well as she did (she deserved to do well) is because of her lack of individuality. Nothing about her really stands out.

Her voice sounds a little like Anastacia's to me!
Not impressed with her first single.

I saw her on TRL and she really gave out a bad impression...the audience kinda booed at her at one point cuz she said Britney hasn't ever cowritten a song on her album, which everyone knows she has. She looks and sounds JUST like Avril too.
