Here's a good one:
"I Don't Want To Be" and "No Es Amor (Obsessions)"
"Mr. Brightside" and "Tragedy" (originally by the Bee Gees, covered by Steps).

The best (or worst) example I can think of came from the mid-nineties; Real McCoy's 'Another Night' and Amber's 'This Is Your Night'.
I never heard one peep from anybody about a plagiarism suit either, but those two songs are virtually note-for-note copies of each other.

oh i forgot.
"On A Night Like This" by Kylie and "Be WIth You" by Enrique. But it's a very basic similarities, mostly brought on by the fact both were written by Metro. Both are excellent separately.
"Music and You" and "Make Luv" by Room 5. Total rip-off record.

By now, you all know that I like the song "Daughters" by John Mayer and that it's one of my favorite songs in the world right now and all. But when I first heard it, it sort of rang a bell, like there was another song that sounded like it. I didn't really give it a second thought until earlier today, when I was listening to my Gordon Lightfoot CD ("If You Could Read My Mind"). A song on there, entitled "Saturday Clothes" sounds much like the song, with the same beat and the guitar notes sound alike.

Oh. and did I mention the guitar riffs in "Rocky Mountain Way" by Joe Walsh and "The Stake" by the Steve Miller Band?

Wouldn't it be cool if we could attach little clips of music to these posts so we could all hear the similarities people are talking about. A lot of the songs I don't know one or both, so I can't really judge.
Anyway, I was listening to Jimmy Eat World's "Night Drive" and part of it so reminded me of Howard Jones' "No One is to Blame".

What Oasis song was Open House Party playing over "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", creating a remix? Those two songs obviously sound alike!
"Girl" and "Tell Me" from Groove Theory.

Rob Thomas's "Ever The Same" has a piano bit towards the end that's lifted right from The Fatback Band's "I Found Lovin'".

ZoeGirl's new song "About You" sounds a lot like "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne.

i know this has probably been posted... but, if so, then, I agree.... nina sky - move your body pittbull - culo They are on the same Jamaican riddim called the Coolie Dance Riddim. Elephant Man and Mr. Vegas also had songs on this riddim that were supposed to chart with these, but Nina Sky and Pitbull came out on top. Same thing as the clapping Diwali Riddim which had Get Busy by Sean Paul and No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder, and some other wack artists.

That crappy Lumidee song "Never Leave You" also used the Diwali riddim, right?

The music in
Martina McBride's "This One's For The Girls" and Sara Evans new track called "A Real Fine Place To Star." Right at the beginning the music sounds, ALIKE, but vocally, and then later on it sounds the same again.

The opening notes of "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers sound very much like those of "Private Emotion" by Ricky Martin featuring Meja (mostly because it's the same instrument).
