Single #2 according to this article: www.mtv.com/news/articles/1518034/20051213/korn.jhtml?headlines=trueThere's plenty of better songs they could have picked instead. On this one, I feel the drums (going for the whole "We Will Rock You" feel) have too much fancy production on them for a Korn song. Also, the chorus gets kind of repetitive and annoying.

I really wish they went with Hypocrites or Souvenir or Liar for the next single, but whatever.

I finally start to like the idea of this being the single and than "Liar" seems to pick up on airplay alot. Anyone know why ?

Word has it that it had been switched according to a Korn fan site. Not sure what site, but...yeah. I've heard Coming Undone on Music Choice's Rock station so, I'm not sure.

Lou Brutus played "Coming Undone" at the beginning of Hard Drive Sunday night, as "the next single," but yeah, I'd much prefer "Liar," given the choice.

"Liar" looks to be losing spins already atleast on Alt. So maybe they are gonna go with CU

Seems to be having a good start on AR but they usually do have the easiest time on that format. But of course this hasn't even gone for adds yet so I am not sweating. I hope the video is hot. Korn can really come up with some fascinating concepts

This is surprisingly stuck at #76 on Alt. with a bullet of +11, and #26 on Active Rock with a bullet of +237. Very odd to me since Twisted Transistor did well on both formats, and sounds quite similar in my opinion to this song here.

Is "Liar" splitting the spins anywhere, or does that no longer apply?
Anyway, serves 'em right for releasing a crap song as the second single (although to be fair, it's not like "Twisted Transistor" was anything remarkable, either.)

I don't think "Liar" is getting any significant airplay anymore. But it does seem weird. I disagree with Nicholas about it being a bad choice for a second single maybe it's a grower. They can't flop this hard after TT *praying*. Plus the cd is still selling pretty well. Sure its out of the top 50 but it is still pulling an increase and is near the 800k mark. Soon to be over a mil.

This is almost exactly the same thing happening with Madonna's "Sorry" at Pop. A goddamn established artist following up a Top 10 smash, off all things! Why are their seconds singles being blacklisted?! "Sorry" actually is one of the best songs on that album. This is inexcusably infuriating.
Regardless of how I actually feel about Korn's respective songs' quality in their case, the same principle applies.

Okay, so I listened to the record again for the first time this year, probably, and for whatever reason, a lot of it had grown on me. However, I still can't say it's a good Korn album. If it would drop the seriously god-awful songs, "10 or a 2-Way," "Getting Off," and "For No One," as well as "Love Song," then it would still be Korn's worst album, but it would be a lot closer.
I was actually impressed with Jon's lyrics in places this time, noting that at least some of the songs aren't all rote, pity-me downers, that parts of his personality are at least trying to approach his tired anguish from a fresher, more profound place.
And since Jon never prints the lyrics, through headphones and 3 different versions of the song, I actually figured out a line I'd never known in the bridge of "Twisted Transistor": "Hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit/Hey you, hey you, anesthetize this bitch." Anesthetize! No wonder all I heard was gibberish before. Never in their career did I ever expect Jon to use a word as big as "anesthetize"!
Anyway, here's how I'd rank the songs in order of preference, I discovered today:
(3.5/5) (All other Korn albums are 4's or 4.5's)
1. Tearjerker 2. Seen It All 3. Politics 4. Open Up 5. Liar 6. Throw Me Away 7. Coming Undone 8. Hypocrites 9. Souvenir 10. Twisted Transistor ----------------------------- 11. Love Song ============== 12. For No One 13. Getting Off 14. 10 or a 2-Way

That video was very "squirm worthy" at the end.

The verses and the refrain to this song remind me of "Down" by STP. Does anyone else see this resemblance?
I like the return of a harder sound, even though I also see a strong resemblance to "TT" in its industrial sound. The more recent Korn songs sound cleaner/more polished than their old material. That said, I instantly like this more than "TT".

Anesthetize! No wonder all I heard was gibberish before. Never in their career did I ever expect Jon to use a word as big as "anesthetize"! LOL, that actually stood out to me among the first times I heard it. Eh, this is OK, but it feels like a derivative version of "Thoughtless" to me, and as such, I probably wouldn't be disappointed if it flopped. Also, ha ha, in the video the scenery and the band themselves "come undone." Could they not come up with a slightly deeper concept than that?

I just watched it and thought it was actually pretty plain and simple atleast for a Korn video Yeah, I didn't understand how it was "squirm worthy" either. Despite the tells-itself concept, I think it's one of their better videos they've done. Quite frankly, it actually reminded me of Back to the Future in that when Marty went back to 1955 and his parents were in trouble of not ending up together that night, his hand started disappearing on him as he played on stage with the band at the prom. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but Jonathan Davis' grill (I'm actually surprised he wasn't one of the early adapters to this fad) really doesn't look that bad. Hell, he looks better with his than M. and Zacky from A7X do and better than Travis Barker's jewel-encrusted incisors.

Well, I was grossed out by how the band members were disintigrating, especially John's fingers. Ew.
