MTV's latest "You Hear It First" segment, featuring up-and-coming bands that haven't made it big yet, was about a group named Paramore. On the intro screen, the group was described as "Fall Out Boy Meets A Simple Plan", and they had an interview soundbite from Pierre Bouvier, who was identified as being from A Simple Plan. John Norris also repeated the three-name title in another part of the segment.
I looked on their website, and everything I've seen shows the group is still called Simple Plan. Anyone know which it is? Not that I care that much, but if they did a reverse-New Found Glory, that would be just totally lame.

I think a better question is when did Simple Plan become alternative rock?

Only Matthew 43:19 would post about something like this! Uh... what? Im guessing it was just shoddy journalism. I'd think so too, but it was repeated in three places. I think a better question is when did Simple Plan become alternative rock? While their "alternative" credentials are certainly suspect at best at this point in time (and they are one of my least favorite bands), they have had multiple hits on the Alternative format. I honestly think I would get a better chance at an answer here instead of the Pop forum, where the topic would likely disappear from the first page within 12 hours. But if I don't get an answer in a day or so, I'll succumb to your wishes and move this topic elsewhere. Deal?

Well, they named their band after the Billy Bob Thorton movie called "A Simple Plan", so maybe MTV confused the two.
Apparently, this is a quote from one of the band members... "It's from a movie called A Simple Plan. We left off the A. We're from Canada, we don't need another A." (quote supposedly came from a Simple Plan special on Fuse, though I never watched it so can't say for sure).

"The" Gorillaz anyone?
Maybe they just felt like adding the "A". ???
