What do people think of these Music/Reality TV shows that are springing up all over the place these days, first it was American Idol now there are millions, some are fun but for the most part they’re pretty lame.

I think it is all right, but personally I don't really agree with the voting system that American Idol employs, because the public tends to be more subjective than objective for most of the time. I like "Rock Star" better, because it is the judges that finally decide who's going home or not. It's fairer. That's my opinion.

really? i kinda like that public voting aspect of the competitions, i guess it does leave the door open for more sketchy voting results and what not but it is cool to think that your vote matters. that is the one thing i like about www.startomorrow.com because you get to vote yay/nay for every act on the show

But when it is the public that decides how the competition goes, we got several cases like Tamyra-Nikki or LaToya-Jasmine, if you know what I mean.

But when it is the public that decides how the competition goes, we got several cases like Tamyra-Nikki or LaToya-Jasmine, if you know what I mean. Yeah, those examples are almost shameful. But I like the public votes system for Idol. There's more to being a star than just a technically good voice. You need to connect with the audience (that x-factor), and that's completely subjective I don't want the judges or anyone else to decide who I should connect with. Rock Star is a different situation -- it's their band after all, so they should get the final say. To answer the original question, I love both Idol and Rock Star. I can't get into any other music/reality tv show though.

yeah i definitely agree, two different situations and both methods work for their respective system. on this startomorrow.com show the judges are like travis from blink 182 and other celebs, they give their opinions but have nothing to do with picking the winners
