Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of RHCP. 'Zypher Song' is probably my favourite by them and even that one I don't listen to often. I do like this single though and it could easily be my favourite of theirs. If you like "The Zephyr Song", you'd probably enjoy the album "By The Way" overall. I consider that their best album to date, where much of the songs are softer and more mature-sounding ("By The Way", "Throw Away Your Television" and "Can't Stop" are basically the only more funkier, edgier offerings on the record. Tracks like "Universally Speaking", "Dosed", "Tear" and "Venice Queen" share the harmonics of "The Zephyr Song". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

u think that can reboost Stadium Arcadium in high places of BB200??? the airplay on normal radio (not modern, alternative or rock radio..) is good?? I think "Stadium Arcadium" could leap back into the Top 50 should "Snow" successfully crossover, though Top 20 may be wishful thinking. This album is still selling remarkably well, though, superior currently than "By The Way". Sincerely, Noah Eaton by the way in USA sell 1,9m in 4 years.. Stadium arcadium have already sell 1,5m in 6 month! rhcp are one of few big artists that released an album in 2006 that will be sell more than previous.

Add to that that it's a double album which means its price might convince people not to buy it. They're doing awesome right now.
With a big crossover hit, they can easily pass 2M. I'm praying that 'Snow' is that hit.

I'm praying that 'Snow' is that hit. yes is a double..but in 2002 the sales was a lot higher than now!! is now the best seller worldwide of 2006 with more than 5m. Snow MUST do good on chart because the next single Hump De Dump is not very radio-friendly.

I believe each purchase of a double album counts as two units.

It does count as two units.
"Dani California" was a bigger hit (audience-wise) than anything off of By The Way. I think that's helped it out a little bit with sales. But it's still nowhere near the level of Californication and their 5 million (?) sold. Of course, that was back in the day when popular music wasn't made with the sole purpose of creating dance club dreck whose beat could be condensed into an 8-bit ringtone like it is now. So I don't really know entirely what to make out of the RHCP sales trends. I don't normally care about sales anyway; I'd bet half the albums I own would have been lucky to be certified gold.

only +6 plays on Modern Rock this week but pass from 8 to 11, this for the incredible fact that SNOW is the only one that increase their plays in top 15 this week..i dunno why, but all other songs in top 15 decrease the plays...maybe they are sostituted by new falloutboys single (+333)..

Any word on what the next single will be? Is there a next single after 'Snow ((Hey Yo))?'

Any word on what the next single will be? Is there a next single after 'Snow ((Hey Yo))?' They've still got, what, four singles left to go through according to what Flea said? I think the next one will probably be "Stadium Arcadium" or "Desecration Smile".

I think the next one will probably be "Stadium Arcadium" or "Desecration Smile". The fourth single has already been decided as "Hump De Bump". The band also revealed that Chris Rock will be directing the video for that track. It should be interesting by the sounds of it, given that I have been disappointed by the "Stadium Arcadium" era thus far video-wise, and seemingly every previous era to date, they've offered one real memorable video. From the "By The Way" era, it was "Can't Stop" (the video for the title track was also pretty hilarious), from "Californication" it was "Otherside", and from "Blood Sugar Sex Magick" it was "Give It Away". The videos this era have been noticably much more generic and lacks that "wow" effect. The video for "Dani California" just had a lot of throwbacks and selective borrowing, while "Tell Me Baby" and "Snow" just have the band playing regularly and interlaced with other images. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Chris Rock doing a simil-rap video for this song.. that are some pics this pics was out already 20 days ago so i think that video could be release also before the end of january...but i also think that Warner Bros want squeeze Snow more than they can. In Europe the 4° single will be Desecration Smile (with Gus Van Sant direction). the fact that will be a double different release (one for USA and one for the rest of the world) make me think that could be lasts single from Stadium Arcadium (they do that with Californication (Road Trippin/Parallele Universe and By The Way (Universally Speaking/Dosed)

Man, once again they get the better international single, but I do also enjoy "Hump de Bump." However, I don't really care for this song, I don't know why. It doesn't do anything for me.
But "The Zephyr Song" was probably my least favorite from BTW and performed fine, and this is already continuing the trend of big RHCP hits.

From the "By The Way" era, it was "Can't Stop" (the video for the title track was also pretty hilarious), from "Californication" it was "Otherside", and from "Blood Sugar Sex Magick" it was "Give It Away". I very much disagree. I think "Under the Bridge" and "Breaking the Girl" are better videos than "Give It Away." The "Soul to Squeeze" video was really good. Warped, My Friends, and Aeroplane's videos all were amazing. The "Love Rollercoaster" video, blatant movie tie-in though it was, was excellent. I loved the color of "Around the World." "Otherside," as you mentioned, is amazing; it's among my Top 5 videos ever. "Californication" was incredible too, with the video game animation. "Can't Stop" is another one of my all-time favorites. I've not yet seen "Snow," but while "Tell Me Baby" was underwhelming (it sounded good on paper), "Dani California" was fun, albeit not among their best. It's rare that the Chili Peppers make a lackluster video. Hell, 11 of their videos are among my Top 100 all-time favorites according to my chart last year, now that I've pulled it up: 83. Love Rollercoaster 74. Around the World 68. Soul to Squeeze 63. Breaking the Girl 38. Californication 31. My Friends 21. Under the Bridge 17. Aeroplane 04. Warped 03. Can't Stop 02. Otherside

This single's within striking distance of #1 now (less than 140 spins from "Anna Molly")
By the way, how is "Welcome To The Black Parade" teetering there right by #1 still? It's audience is exactly higher than "Anna Molly" still ("Snow" is too now).
It's especially interesting that thus far, both artists have begun pushing second singles early before their official release dates, and though neither "Dig" or "Famous Last Words" are exploding currently up the charts, it isn't affecting their grip on the #1 and #2 positions either.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think it's possible the amount of time they spend at #1 will depend on when the lead single from Linkin Park's third album comes out (the album is eyeing a March 2007 release) No matter what, the lead single is obviously going #1, and also will either debut at #1 or reach #1 by the second week depending on what time during the week it's released. Three Days Grace may have a shot at #1 with "Pain" as well, but they better keep up the momentum or Linkin Park will keep any chance from them getting there from happening. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

move to #2 in Modern rock chart, only 70 pass under #1 Anna Molly.
great NE at n.20...Pepper - No Control, that band usually is more ska (fishbone,Sublime) oriented but this song & video is total Chili peppers.

This is my fave song from their album. Great song by all means and one of the year's best. I just can't believe that concert video. Can anyone imagine how amazing a real video for Snow(Hey Oh) would be???

Well, this will mark their third consecutive #1 from this album, also making them 3 for 3 this era thus far in single releases topping the chart (Linkin Park hold the record, going 5 for 5 during the "Meteora" era)
Speaking of Linkin Park, I think the amount of time this stays at #1 will likely depend on when Linkin Park choose to release their lead single from their forthcoming third album (rumored to be released this March), and should that release date be made official, their lead single will likely be dropped within the next several weeks.
I have a feeling "Hump De Bump" will be the first single from this album NOT to go #1. Of course a video directed by Chris Rock may give the single some extra publicity, but I think while their fourth single will undoubtedly go Top 10 and likely go Top 5, I don't feel it will go all the way, and moreover Linkin Park are really going to rival the Chili Peppers single-wise from here on out as they push their third album, even if they continue their decline commerically.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
