Mandy Moore deserves it more to be honest, but the song HAS kinda grown on me. the verses are much better than the chorus.
I still think she's ugly though ;)
And the line "If the light is off then it isn't on" = Dumbest pop lyric, possibly EVER....

Back on the old R&R boards, I predicted #8 with a slow climb. I definitely see that happening.
I'm glad radio has looked past Hilary's "Lizzie McQuire" persona and relized that this is a great pop song.
The album had a jump in sales this week too. People really like this song.

I wasn't expecting Hilary Duff to have a big hit this year, but I guess she just found the right song to get one. I think it'll be top 20, but peak around #14.

I think as the weeks go by her bullet will get stonger and eventually she'll surprise most people by slugging her way into the Top 5. Personally, I wouldn't mind for it to hit #1 in the least.

It's a really boring song by the most overrated celebrity of the year.

I think Hilary Duff will go Top 10 with "So Yesterday." Didn't we think all pop princesses were jokes when we first heard of them? I remember 5 or 6 years ago waking up early and listening to the AT40. I heard "Baby One More Time" debut. I couldn't have thought there was anything junkier.

It is overrated and boring, and I hate her voice, but I don't complain too much for two reasons:
1. I don't listen to the format and only ever catch it on AT40.
2. This song only mildly sucks.

She and her tame-ass, boring, sunny pop song are just one of many reasons why pop radio has sharply declined in the past 3-6 months. God, how much worse can pop radio get before it actually bottoms out?

Not only does her success confound me, it disturbs me. The most worthless/talentless "artist" on the music scene in quite some time. This song, right along with her persona, tests my gag reflex.
Hilary has accomplished one thing though. She's proven that there is something worse than Stacie Orrico (don't even get me started on that she-beast).

If Ms. Duff can get into the top 20, then i have no doubts that the power of Britney and Madonna will at least get them into the top 15.

Seriously, this song is not that bad... Sure, it is not the best song in the world, but it's definitely not the worst song out there right now...

It's songs like this that make me not trust artists who are younger than I am. Although I can't give it an F, "overrated" hits the nail right on the head. (Thank goodness Stacie Orrico was born in March ;))

Hilary Duff is a goddess. Because this song is a hit, it has given millions like me hope. Look at her sales! The reason she has hit #1 is that she is not the most talented artist out there. With reality shows like "American Idol" and "Fame" dictating viewers that you must have Celine Dion vocals and an hour glass figure to "make it," Hilary proves them wrong.
We don't want to be Hilary. We are Hilary. We are the ones who sing in the showers and can only dream of getting a record deal. Thank you Hilary for showing us that you can achiever your dreams when you believe...
Here is a girl we want to see succeed for being who she is. This makes her more beautiful than a million Celines and Kelly Clarksons. Here's to the next truckload of albums she sells!
:'( <-- tears of joy for Hilary. I am proud of ya girl.

i agree with Halo... the song is overrated and boring... her voice is noticeably weak, and she should just stick to her moderate acting skills.... she's got a bit more of those then she will ever have singing skills

No, you don't have to have Celine Dion vocals, you have to have a hit television show franchise. We don't want to be Hilary. We are Hilary. We are the ones who sing in the showers and can only dream of getting a record deal. Thank you Hilary for showing us that you can achiever your dreams when you believe... Come on, I know you can be a die-hard fan, but please don't build her up to a demigod.

I didn't literally mean "We are Hilary" literally. Each one of us has a little bit of Hilary's aspirations and dreams in us. That is why she is doing so well; because she's the girl we root for.
Hilary is the girl-next-door. She's your best friend. She's your sister. She's your girlfriend. She's your aunt. She's your mother. Everybody has a Hilary in their life.
P.S. I refresh this topic every five seconds to make sure no one seriously disses Hilary to the point I have to go "U no u just jell-us." This is college life.

She's your best friend. She's your sister. She's your girlfriend. She's your aunt. She's your mother. That sounds like a Meredith Brooks song. Is Hilary a b***h too?
