I think that there should be a separate forum for singles that have music videos, iTunes singles, etc. that are singles, but don't go for radio adds. It gets annoying when all these songs are very much singles, but can't be put anywhere because of the newer [lamer] rules.
That's pretty much all I have to say. Rant over. Thoughts?

Hmm...maybe we should just put them in the non-singles forum? I don't know, I've never really thought about that before. I was thinking that particular forum because even if they do have music videos and are iTunes singles and stuff, they aren't radio singles, which is how a single seems to be defined here. In the non-singles forum it could be discussed in exactly the same way without having to create an entirely new forum. And given the disapproval from some of the members here about the recent addition of new forums and sub-forums, I tend to think that would be a better idea, heh.

they aren't radio singles, which is how a single seems to be defined here. I agree with that, as evidenced by the "Radio Format and Chart" group of forums. I am a fan of some artists whose single is not being added (to my knowledge) at any format, and thus would also not qualify for any chart. At the same time, situations like this wouldn't really fit the "Non-Singles / Album Tracks" forum, either. I guess one alternative would be to create a thread about the artist in the "General Artist Discussion" section, and talk about the album + single(s) in there.

Oh yeah, that's a good idea and another option. Probably just make a thread for the specific artist and then the discussion about the single(s) can go in there.

I think those type of singles should still go in the Non-Singles section because if they are not going to radio right now, they should go there, since all the main singles sections (except for Dance) are radio-only.

I agree with MyLastView Something like the AI song should have a topic. The songs will probably chart on the Pop 100 and get some pop airplay, so would it be okay to start a thread in the Pop Forum? It wouldn't exactly fit to put those song in the Non Singles Forum

I'm sure the AI topic will end up being unlocked, as the song will most likely end up going for adds. But it's a little premature to have it now considering we don't even have a winner yet. If it were to stay open we'd get pages and pages of "oh my god I hope it's Jordin!" "It better be Blake!" By waiting, we'll hopefully get a discussion of the actual song that's going to radio and its chart prospects/progress, etc.
