:( Big drop for Louise. I hope she gets a record deal as I heard "Pandora's Kiss" was released independently (i.e. The Emma Bunton "Free Me" route). Poor Lene! Is she promoting the single there? It's not a strong song like "Sitting Down Here" that I would expect to sell. Still #53.. :'( Damn Two-track singles (her "b-side" is an original version of "Sitting Down Here" which I'm sure her fans would love considering the majority buying "You Weren't There" already have it). :o @ Jamelia. I wonder if her blandly titled album "Thank You" (formerly "Beauty and The Beats" but Jamelia was forced to change it since her record company thought she was too full of herself) will chart high. I'm also surprised Melanie C's "yeh yeh yeh" has been pushed to November. And will now be a double-a side. Very strange.. why not just scrap the whole release altogether? Congrats to Delta. Congrats to Gareth for a Top 10 album! Remember, it is very good for a solo album to hit Top 10 without the Pop Idol hype anymore! Plus the holidays are coming around. I bet it will stay in the Top 10 till December, the album has legs (like the Spice Girls' "Spice" in America!). ((How long do you think before the album is thrown in bargain bins? :'( ??? cos I don't want to waste money and purchase it full price)).

What's with the UK chart this past year? It's been much slower than the recent years. I remember back in '99 and '00, there was a new #1 practically every week. This is the 3rd week in a now for the Black-Eyed Peas. There's only been like 12 #1's so far in the UK for 2003, which is incredibly few for the UK.
But still, the fact remains that songs still almost always debut at #1. In fact for the last 3-4 years, all the #1 songs have been debuts with the exception of some songs that rose a few spots to the top spot during the early part of the year, due to very few releases at that time of the year.

It's insane how well the Black Eyed Peas are doing in the UK with Where is the Love.
I think Shut Up will place near the edge of the Top 10, due to the success of WITL, and then they will never have a big hit in the UK again.
Also, is that Rachel Stevens song any good?

A lot of people seem to like Rachels song, but i find it very dull. It has a heartfelt, meaningful TRL #1 video!

I like Gareth Gates. He's like a solo Westlife. I can't help liking his songs. "Too Serious Too Soon" and "Anyone Of Us" made my Top 20. Really he's not that bad. Some of you should give him a chance. I don't like him enough to make a gif with his picture in it my avatar tho.

Yeah, I don't know anyone who would take time to make a gif avatar of him. I got mine from his official website. Hope to see you have one of the same soon!
I heard the entire Rachel Stevens "Funkydory" album at her official site's listening party. It's a standard pop album. No track is exactly great, but fans seem to love "Solid" and "Glide." The ballad "Breathe In Breathe Out" is breezy enough to be a Top 15 single. Another ballad "Heaven Has To Wait" isn't ground-breaking and Rachel can barely carry it, but the melody makes it easy on the ears. The album hopefully will sell okay and secure Rachel a spot in the pop world but I hardly expect anyone to remember "Funkydory" a year from now.
