Except for both of the #4's, all of these albums are really old. I guess that kind of shows that there's a quicker turn over of #1's right now... which I also think shows people are more about buying the "in-thing" of the moment and whatnot. That's the same trend in USA too... used to be many more long-stays at #1 then there are now. I guess Delta is really huge there to defy that.

Yep, Delta's #1 stay is amazing and deserved because it's such a good album. There definitely is a higher turnover these days with a lot of #1 debuts. But we still get quite a few albums staying at #1 for more than 1 or 2 weeks compared to the USA where it seems like every week the #1 is different. The emphasis has become to sell as many copies in week 1 which is IMO at the sacrifice of long term sales and potentially a quality album worthy of sticking around.

You didn't say how many weeks at #1 for the 6's.
Let's see - what has been huge in the past 10 years or so? What about The Bodyguard OST, Titanic OST... those must have spent around 10 weeks at #1 too. Thriller? Pink Floyd?

What about Madonna/Janet/Mariah? And since it is Australia, Kylie?

The albums in 6th place were #1 for 19 weeks.
Not too sure about the other albums you guys asked about.
At 18 weeks we have Mariah Carey's "Music Box" and Boz Scaggs' "Silk Degree".
Delta is the longest running #1 Aussie female by a mile... the nearest is Kylie Minogue with "Fever" which was #1 for 5 weeks. Note that Delta has already outsold Kylie as Delta is 7 times platinum (and still going strong obviously) while "Fever" went 6 times platinum.
The Bodyguard and The Titanic were def. at #1 for awhile but I don't think close to the calibre of 20 weeks.

Delta goes 8 times platinum this week as predicted (well, sooner than predicted) and is now in outright 4th spot for longest running #1 album.
