HOT playlist. I didn't realize R&R now monitored my station. :o Nu VIVA 105.7! (Literally! It recently changed to both 100.7 AND 105.7. I tend to get 105.7 better while in SF and 100.7 better while just outside of SF.) VIVA keeps spinnin' the hits! If I hadn't seen the playlist, I'd think these were getting the most spins:
Juanes - La Camisa Negra (La Paga Part Duex. VIVA really jumped on this one. I don't think they ever played "Volverte A Ver"! :o) Aleks Syntek f/Ana Torroja - Duele El Amor (overplayed) Fey - La Fuerza Del Destino (Hot Mecano remake! Really!) Juanes - Nada Valgo Sin Tu Amor (Still a JAM.) La 5a. Estación - El Sol No Regresa (JAM!) Julieta Venegas - Algo Está Cambiando (JAM.) Daddy Yankee - Gasolina (overplayed) Ha*Ash - Estés En Donde Estés (JAM.) N.O.R.E. f/Nina Sky & Daddy Yankee - Oye Mi Canto (overplayed) Kalimba - No Me Quiero Enamorar (Hot remix!)

wow, La Camisa Negra officially went for adds already? or is that just when this station added it?
i figured it would be the next single, but i haven't heard anything official about it
is there a site like All Access that tells Latin adds?

I lied! I heard "Volverte A Ver" today after school. Maybe R&R combined the spins for that and his new one, because it seems awfully strange that "Volverte A Ver" could have had 0 spins last week.
Don't know of a site other than Promoonly, which doesn't really give add dates or anything...but pretty close to them, I guess.
The date on the playlist is just the date when the station added it. I noticed all the older songs say 9/26/2004...heh, that must be when it was added to R&R or switched call letters.

The playlist is only available on the R&R website, not Mediabase.

Seriously?! No wonder! Last night I was listening and they were all speaking ENGLISH! I was like, "que mierda?!" It didn't even sound like VIVA anymore. :'( Then they said, "105.7" in ENGLISH (not ciento cinco punto siete) so I KNEW something was up. :o Then they played 50 Cent's "Just a Lil' Bit." I didn't wanna believe it, so I switched to 100.7 (their other frequency) and it was also 50 Cent. I wanted to believe 106.1 was spilling over into 105.7, but it wasn't true. :'(
Great....now SF has THREE hip-hop stations and 0 pop stations...not even 1 Latin pop station!! :'( :'(
Pinche "hurban" format! >:(

Hector El bambino. Baby Rasta, Winsin & Yandel, Los Luny Tunes, entre otros. *Needs Spanish Proboards spell check* ;) What does it mean[/i] ???

What I get from that is that they switched the station to an all reggaeton/Latin hip-hop format called "La Kalle". And then they describe what reggaeton is and what major artists perform it.

I guess I'll never get to hear that HOT "No Me Quiero Enamorar" remix by DJ Pollo ever again. :'(

A lot of Latin Pops and Hispanic-leaning CHR/Pops and Rhythmics owned by CC are gonna be flipping to this format sooner or later. Its the new trend for the new generation Hispanics in America.

It's bloody awful.
It will flop. The Bay Area already has 2 CHR/rhythmic stations, with 1 of them already playing reggaeton. No one's gonna stop listening to KYLD to try out this new station. (I even heard "Goodies" on here the other day! Do we really need yet another station playing crunk?) This station will flop harder than 92.7 did when it switched from dance to CHR/rhythmic.
Can't wait for this to return to Spanish Contemporary. "Pop, rock, y reggaeton" > "reggaeton y English crap-rap"
It will be interesting to see the ratings in the coming months. But by then I'll be in New York anyways. I just hope it'll be back to Spanish Contemp. by the time I visit for Thanksgiving.

I don't know if it will flop. Here in Dallas-Ft Worth, our dance station (106.7 KDL, the dance-heads might have heard of the late-station) was scoring about a 0.7 before it flipped to Casa 106.7, a Hurban-leaning Rhythmic playing reggaeton, hiphop, y mas.
The ratings skyrocketed from 0.7 to a 2.2, up 18 spots from 35 to 17 from winter to spring Arbitron 2005 (the flip occurred in December 04). I had no clue that the new format was so appealing. At this point, it has hung around the 2.0 mark, but is still enough to keep it from flipping back to Dance, or flipping to Regional Mexican or Country, or some other shit that Dallas doesn't need more of. Its one of the hottest stations in the area right now.
Then again, this isn't Northern California, so anything can happen. Just noticing a trend.

It's bloody awful. It will flop. Do we really need yet another station playing crunk?) This station will flop harder than 92.7 did when it switched from dance to CHR/rhythmic. When Party 92.7 (RIP) flipped to Power 92.7 from dance to CHR/Rhythmic (heavy on the urban), it was a dark day. Power was an awful station. I was not even surprised when it flipped just 5 1/2 months later! Wasn't Power 92.7 owned by Clear Channel? How could they have so many stations in one market? It was not a good idea. I think this new station will flip really soon.
