Thanks to Joster we now have some good news: The song "No", which is track #7, will be the second single. Shakira confirmed this herself in an interview today on RCN. The song is a very nice long ballad. Shakira also said that she`ll be doing a promo tour for "FO1" for 2-3 months, and then head back into the studio to finish "OF2".

Did "La Tortura" ever go for pop adds? I haven't heard this song. Is it as good as "La Tortura"?

No, La Tortura never went for pop adds. This song should be moved to the Latin forum. :)

Does anyone know what the official add date is for "No" is? I absolutely love this song and can't wait for it to be released.

Shakira confirmed this herself in an interview today on RCN. Hey, that's cool. I listen to RCN almost everyday while eating breakfast 'cause that's all my mom listens to on the radio.

I'm still surprised that "La Pared" wasn't the 2nd single. "No" should've been the 4th single, right after "Escondite Ingles".

"La Pared" will never be released as a single because it was the "B-side" to "La Tortura"...

Actually, just the acoustic version of "La Pared" was included on the "La Tortura" single. She's been singing "La Pared" as her third song on promotional trips, so I expect that it will be the next single. And her usual release schedule is Fast, Funky Song - Ballad - Fast Song, so La Pared makes sense. I am guessing that "Dia Especial" might also be released, because she has played that song at various events, but I would prefer "Las de la Intuicion" instead.

I really like how this record doesn't try as hard to produce obvious single candidates and that they all naturally have their own sort of flair, sort of unique personality.
The Latin airwaves probably won't care if she releases "Dia De Enero" and they'll still give it a bunch of airplay. I believe that is the single most poetic song on the record and would love to see a more acoustic, lo-fi track like that released.
She's a musical goddess right now, and basically any track she releases will be gold from the Tropic of Cancer to the Tropic of Capricorn.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I believe No is a poetic song but that may say that people won't like it. I truly like this song but IMO it isn't single material.
Escondite Ingles is screaming to be a single. The song will sound incredibly hot on radio. Plus, is the type of song that everybody will like cuz is kind of sexual in a way.
Any dates of her tour yet? :(

Same bold and beautiful Shakira, with another musical twist. "Fijacion Oral 1" is awesome from beginning to end and is one of my Top Ten Best Picks of 2005 so far. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Video is amazing. Very poignant. People are comparing it to "Tu", but to me the song and video are a progression from that.
I actually think that "No" is better than "Tu", although people will disagree because songs from DELL are like the Holy Grail of Shakira.
The only thing about this song is that I don't think it's very catchy, that's why I doubted it's single potential. I think Dia De Enero had much more potential than "No".

I love the video for "No" and I prefer "No" to "Tu" as well. I am not sure how well it's going to do as a single, but the Latin markets seem to still embrace ballads unlike the english markets. I am one of the few people that can't really warm to "Dia De Enero". It's too cutesy for me. Also, I wonder how it would do in Argentina due to the subject matter.

Did anyone see her perform this on Don Francisco? It was really good, but I couldn't tell if she was lip-synching.

but it's very common for people to lipsynch on all those shows, although thankfully now they're having more and more live performances yeah, I hate that! It seems like everytime I see someone perform "live" on one of those Spanish shows, it's lipped. annoying. I was really shocked a couple weeks ago when it seemed like someone was actually performing live on Escandalo TV. :o hopefully they really are having more real live performances...

No release has been set. La Tortua is still top 10 in Europe an by the time it dies down it'll be time for the first single from Oral Fixation.

^ Sounds reasonable enough. Smart move. I`d urge Sony not to release it in Europe.
