i like it, a damn catchy hook lol
i'm just a little confused as to how it came about, and was it just a one time performance thing that came together, or is there a studio version? i've only heard and seen the music video of it, which is a performance

who's Coti?
I never expected Julieta Venegas to do a collaboration with a pop princess like Paulina Rubio.

LOL...same. It's such a random collaboration and I love it.
I didn't know it was live until I bought the song online. But apparently it's the only version available.

I cannot believe you guys don't know who Coti is! He is originally from Argentian and started out in the rock en espanol scene as a producer for acts such as Enanitos Verdes, Andres Calamaro, and Fito Paez. Then he started writing songs for more mainstream acts such as Diego Torres ("color esperanza"), Julieta Venegas ("andar conmigo"), and ugggh...paulina rubio ("te quise tanto").
After moving permanently to Spain in 2000 he began his recording career with 2001's selft titled COTI. It wasn't a huge success but it spawn a couple of Top 30 singles in Spain like "antes que ver el sol" and "igual que ayer." This is the cd that has the original version of "nada fue un error" which was a duet with Andres Calamaro.
In 2004, his second album was released entitled Canciones Para Llevar and it is brilliant. Latin pop/rock at its best! Coti proved that he definately has a skill at writing interesting and catchy lyrics and composing guitar driven pop melodies. This album saw NO airplay in Latin America and US but it was a surprising hit in Spain. This in turn prompted the live album Este Manana y Otros Cuentos which was released internationally (including US and Mexico) in August of 2005.
It's a fine album which compiles the best tracks from COTI and CANCIONES PARA LLEVAR along with a couple of new tracks. It's not his best work, but it's a fine live album.
I hated the collaboration with Julieta Venegas and Paulina on "nada fue un error". I think the interpretation of the ladies (especially Paulina's) fall flat. The duet with Andres Calamaro was sooooo much more heartfelt and catchy.
But in the end, Coti is gotta make a living and sell records. Even at the expense of his credibility as a serious singer/songwriter.

Thanks for the info. So I've heard a lot of his work before, just didn't know he was behind all of it.
This is still a jam!

No problem. If you're into pop/rock such as Juanes, Reyli, Enanitos Verdes, you will like Coti's music. But I actually think Coti is a superior songwrite than all of these acts. In fact, I cannot think of a better singer-songwriter in mainstream latin music at this time.
