Not too long ago, Spain's La Oreja de Van Gogh was one of my favorite bands. I thought their first record, DILE AL SOL, as well as the follow-up EL VIAJE DE COPPERPOT were great pop confections unlike most of what was out on the airwaves. Their catchy pop hooks along with comic lyrics were a great combination. But then came LO QUE TE CONTE MIENTRAS TE HACIAS LA DORMIDA, which despite some great singles (" puedes contar conmigo", " rosas") was kinda dull. Most of the tracks on the album could be considered fillers. I haven't listened to all of GUAPA, their fourth studio album (only four, seems they have been around much longer) but the first single " muneca de trapo" isn't very convincing--mediocre at best. What do you guys thing? Has LODVG lost their touch, or am I just being to picky? Holla....

I've been meaning to make a thread about it but I totally forgot. This is a total JAM! I love it.

Have you seen the video? It's very boring. I don't want hate on this band but it seems that their creative juices are running thin.

I think I saw a commercial promoting their CD. The clip I heard from this was more rock influenced than any other song I had heard from them before.

I haven't heard anything from their new album. I didn't even know it was out yet! I was shocked when I saw their nu CD in stores a few weeks ago.
I love a lot of their music. I'll get it eventually, I'm sure. The album cover is so boring though!

The cover IS boring. I thought the same thing when I saw it. I really liked the cover for the last album, though. I love the way they incorporated the entire band onto the cover eventhough Amaia is obviously the focus and major selling point.

I'm shallow enough that if they had Amaia on the new album's cover looking hot as usual, I probably would have gotten the album the first time I saw it in stores.

I was looking forward to the release of their next, but I'm not too convinced yet with the first single though. I would like to listen to the whole album to have a better opinion, but right now I don't feel like spending the around $14 for it.

I see this video 24/7 on MTV S. It's starting to get plenty of radio airplay also. I hope the next single is better. Anybody still not heard the entire album?

I like how no one's excited about the new album just because of the cover. Maybe Amaia's looks have a lot more to do with us being fans of the group than we think...

Nah. She's pretty, but she's not THAT hot. I like them because they're the one of very few pop bands that write their own lyrics and music.

Huh? Haven't heard "dulce locura". I guess I have to check it out. I sure hope it's better than the first single.
Saludos a la madre patria... ;)
