Both of these female R&B quartets had DYNAMIC vocalist in their line-up's with Dawn Robinson and Terry Ellis of En Vogue and Kandi Burrus and LaTacha Scott of XSCAPE coming to mind.
I really enjoyed ALL of their hit's as groups and solo artist. My favorite songs from both groups include "Understanding", "Who Can I Run To", and "The Arms of the one Who Loves You" by XSCAPE and "Lies", Never Gonna Get It", and "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" by En Vogue.
Which of the groups do you prefer? I think I like them both equally, but I want an XSCAPE reunion!!!

Xscape had a few good songs, but it's pretty obvious here. I'm going with En Vogue. Out of the girl groups who have been away for awhile though, SWV kicks both of their a:-X :-Xes

Yeah I think an En Vogue vs. SWV battle would be more worthy.
Xscape was just too ghetto for me.

I choose XSCAPE simply because of vocal talent. If you would like to know anything about me, it is that I love ARTIST who can sing, and when they have chart success it is even better. You all have to admit Coko was the ONLY person that sang in the group, occassionally Taj would sing, and that was RARE. Futhermore vocally XSCAPE could compete with En Vogue.

I only remember one Xscape song, so my vote goes to En Vogue.

Coko and Taj were in SWV. Are you confusing them with Xscape? Oh No! I was responding to the member that said SWV was a better match with En Vogue. I know who SWV, in fact they are one of my favorites also.

Xscape was very underrated. I loved "The Arms of the One Who Loves You" and "Love On My Mind." I think they were too "street" to really make it big, but they were incredibly talented.
En Vogue is very overrated in my book. I did love "Don't Let Go (Love)" a LOT and I do own their EV3 album... and there are some really good songs on it, but overall they're kind of boring to me.
SWV would have won this hands down for me. They are one of my favorite groups of all-time and better than Xscape and En Vogue combined, times 1,000.

Of the two choices, I'll go with En Vogue. Some great songs from those females. SWV would have won this hands down for me. They are...better than Xscape and En Vogue combined, times 1,000. Agreed.

I know who both Xscape and En Vogue are, but they are just a little bit before my time (well, En Vogue anyway).
I remember Xscape vaguely, back in...what was it, 98? 99? They had "The Arms of the One Who Loves Me" and "My Little Secret", those are the two I remember from them, and they were good.
I only really remember "Dont Let Go" by En Vogue, which was the same time period, I think...I am familiar with "Never Gonna Get It", but just cuz it is a classic R&B song, I dont really remember it at it's prime.
So it wouldnt really be fair for me to choose, since I am a bit more familiar with Xscape, but I do not fully know all of En Vogue or X's stuff, so..lol

I voted for Xscape because I love their song "Just Kickin' It."

En Vogue had a powerful combination being both classy and very talented. I definitely vote for En Vogue.

I agree En Vogue beats all the female groups in terms of talent. They had hits like:
Lies Hold On Giving Him Something He Can Feel Don't Go Don't Let Go My Lovin' Whatta Man Give It Up Turn It Loose

that's like asking, Destiny's Child or 702? Both had quite a few hits but one had more, more awards, more status... and more talent.

En Vogue, probably my favorite female group since the Supremes. I love "Hold On" and kind of fell for the lead singer of that song. Was that Dawn Robinson? Great vocals. SWV also had great voices, but their songs weren't as good. What happened to them anyway?

I loved SWV but they weren't as consistent as En Vogue was when they were all together.

I would go with En Vogue, and I am smiling because I was listening to the Always Be My Baby remix today with Xscape featured on it lol.

this is actually pretty hard...cause i would say i liked xscape and en vogue both sorta equally....
i would say en vogue had better voices and appealed to more of the non-urban audiences
xscape just had that ghetto-ness about them, so i was able to relate to them more

En Vogue, probably my favorite female group since the Supremes. I love "Hold On" and kind of fell for the lead singer of that song. Was that Dawn Robinson? Great vocals. SWV also had great voices, but their songs weren't as good. What happened to them anyway? Cindy Herron sang lead on "Hold On" and Terry Ellis did the "Who's Loving You" intro. My vote goes to En Vogue, though "Who Can I Run To" is way up there with any girl group song.
